    Here's some pretty exciting news!

We recently learned that the PS2 will be coming to an end.
However, the PlayStation Portable will still live for quite some time.

Interesting. Most PS3s can't play PS2 games straight because they scrapped that pretty quickly to cut costs. So these would have to be effectively redesigned into "PS3 games", even if there is no difference to the end user. I'm not sure how hard of a process that is though. I can't picture it being all that hard, especially for companies that can get programmers from the original release to do it, but if it were all that easy I think they would have done this by now to go with the PS1 games they offer.

i think this is pretty interesting, but what i wish they would do is remake some of the old PS1 and PS2 games to be playable on the PS3. Even if they just did what Wii did and allowed you to buy the game and have it downloaded onto the system, that would be pretty awesome. personally, it can be hard to find really good games for the PS3 that don't cost 60 to 80 dollars.

This is exactly what they are doing. Many PS1 games are already downloadable, and have been for years. Now this is talking about doing that to a few PS2 games which may mean they will do it with more.

I just recently bought Breath of Fire IV for I think $6 and although the article doesn't state a price for the new PS2 games I have to imagine it would still be pretty cheep since these are old games. Many PS2 games sell for about $25 bucks these days (with obvious variation from game to game), so I would imagine they would keep it in that ball park.

That is awesome. My thing is, i got a PS3 before they stopped allowing PS2 games to be played on it, so i never had a problem. My only problem is not having internet for PSN.

Is there a more extensive list of games that are coming out? That would be awesome to see. Now i just hope that the gameplay and everything else is that same in the transition.

$10 isn't bad, I can see myself picking up one or two--I still have my PS2 and everything, but it'd be so much more convenient to just load it up on my PS3.

About ****ing time Sony, I've been waiting for this to happen for a long time. Anyway, awesome news, now we don't have to only buy these "HD" collections to play some of the classics :D

This is such a relief. I mean...I've been wanting to have my Xenosaga series and Persona 3 on the PS3 for a while now.

I'm so glad Odin Sphere is in for this. I mean, I still like having physical copies. But this works.

Here's some further news regarding passes for games, if anyone's interested.

I really like what's going on here, and it seems like Sony is trying to earn their customers' trust back.

I wonder if we'll see KH1 and KH2 on PS3 as well as Vita?
