Playing Kingdom Hearts; Doing an Allies Only Playthrough

What the title says is all true. :3

 

That sounds awfully inconvenient.

 

Do you even know what an allies only playthrough is?

 

Do you even know that most people don't know what an "allies only playthrough" is?

 

It's when you sit there and just let your allies, such as Donald and Goofy, fight everything. For bosses, wait for them to get their HP all the way down and then get the finishing blow.

 

But the Kingdom Hearts doesn't require you to perform a Finisher. They added that idiotic mechanic in Kingdom Hearts 2.

 

Not that kind of finisher, just an attack.

Allies can't defeat bosses in Kingdom Hearts.

 

Really? I distinctly remember Goofy finishing off Ansem in the final battle because I was quite far away from him when the screen went all slow-mo-y.

 

Pictures or it didn't happen.

 

Nah, allies can't finish off bosses. It requires an attack with a special property, which only Sora has. Maybe a stray lightning bolt caught 'im or something.

 

But doesn't that take all of the fun out of the game?

 

I'm a weird person.

For example, on Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, a turn-based PS2 game, I'll just sit there and let myself be attacked to watch what happens, which can be:

• The attack could be avoided
• The attack could be guarded, which cuts damage in half
• They get hit

And more. Obviously, the first two only apply to physical attacks. Special moves and magic cannot be avoided or guarded.

 

so you're playing the game and your challenge is to see how boring you can make it? >.>
generally when I do a challenge run it's because I'm trying to make it more fun...

this seems more like a challenge of trying to stay alive long enough for them to beat the boss down. I remember fighting Maleficent's dragon form that way, because I sucked at the game and she couldn't hit me.​
