Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End (Spoiler Thread)

It's true. 300 was okay. A lot of violence. No story. But still a lot of violence. Of course nothing can beat the EPICNESS! of PotC. It has the perfect balance of violence and story. PWNED!

Don't it's a waste of time But back onto topic of PotC. Did anybody find it weird that Sao Feng thought Elizabeth was Calypso?

 

He knew of Calypso, and because shes so strong he just assumed. I think theres another reason, I just haven come up with it yet...


OK GUYS. ITS OFFICIAL. The reason this wasnt obvious is because they CUT the movie down from 3 hrs to 2hr45 min. Geese, Im kinda pissed I would have liked those extra 15 minutes...anyway here it is:

WILL stabs Davy Jones’ heart, with Jack’s assistance. The one who stabs Jones’ heart becomes the new captain, which is why Will, not Jack, is the new captain of the Dutchman. This was Jack’s way of sparing Will.

If Elizabeth stayed faithful to Will for 10 years, the curse was broken and he was free of the Flying Dutchman and could return to land whenever he wanted. The scene that explains this was one of the final cuts, due to time constraints.

So, if thered been those FIFTEEN MINUTES, we'd ALL HAVE UNDERSTOOD THIS. Im a bit miffed about that. They had it filmed and everything. They cut it at the last minute....

 

Well you know they are gonna have it on the DVD so I can't wait now for the PotC DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved it! My favourite parts were the Davy Jones' Locker sequence and the Maelstrom, esp. Jack vs Davy, Elizabeth and Will's marriage via Hector (I've always called him by his first name since I watched the first film with commentary XD) and Elizabeth vs Davy, that was pretty cool. Elizabeth as the Pirate King was pretty surprising...I was a bit p***ed off with how Chow Yun-Fat died so early on :/ but yeah. I'm curious as to what happened to the Empress, it just disappeared and Elizabeth just seemed to abandon her crew halfway through XD

The last scene with Elizabeth and Will made me chuckle:
Will: *puts on boot* I'll need the other one."
Half-Naked Elizabeth: *puts leg on rock with boot on*
Will: *licks knee*
Elizabeth's face: *dominates the shot, smiles in a rather disturbing way as Will ventures up her leg*

I laughed at the moment Will was stabbed by Davy Jones, not because he was "dead", but because of the amount of fangirls who screamed and began to cry, aha. But I liked that moment, it was a brilliant trio moment, Jack, Elizabeth and Will. There havent been that many scenes in the series that affected me that way, but I like that they all had a part in defeating Davy Jones and the Trading Company. I loved Beckett's death...

I think it was definately my favourite of the Trilogy, I never thought they'd outdo Curse of the Black Pearl, but IMO they have with At World's End (even if they were only actually "at world's end" for 15 minutes haha). I really don't see why the sequels have recieved such mixed reviews. From what I've seen, the only complaint really is the length and that the story was abit too complicated for them to follow. One reviewer I just felt like smacking, he said "I saw the second film last year, but I still don't understand why Davy Jones is allied with the East India Trading Company or why Jack is in Davy Jones' Locker."
Erm, hello? Did you pay attention when you saw Dead Man's Chest? The main plot is how if you have Davy Jones' heart you control the seas, it not that complicated...and if you don't know why Jack is in Davy Jones' Locker then you don't even deserve to have it explained to you, you movie n00b.

So if anyone was actually intelligent enough to understand what was happening, then you can appreciate what good films the sequels are. My advice is if you are going to see At World's End then at least watch Dead Man's Chest first, otherwise you'll be lost...and if you don't understand what happened in DMC cause it was too complicated, watch it a couple more times, then you'll know why stuff happened (Y)

Wow, sorry about the long post, I'm just really enthusiastic about Pirates of the Caribbean ^__^
If DMC and AWE aren't in the next Kingdom Hearts I'm going to kill them, haha. It's just an awesome world and I think a lot of fans would be annoyed if they didn't include them, dontcha think?

Oh one part that i really liked was when they all pointed guns at each other then Jack the mokey pointed his wee gun at the parrot. I thought it was so cute. :D

 

My favorite part was the marrige scene.

It was such a romantic wedding.

 

Agreed. I found it to be very origional. :3 I like those new ideas that they come up with. It really helped to make the movie interesting:D

 

PoC: At World's End was probably the best IMO.
I also regret that Chow Yun-Fat died so early. Sure, he was creepy, but he could have at least lived until AFTER the big fight with the Navy. @_@ And the fact that Jack's dad was only in there for 5 minutes was a big let-down since I heard rumours about him being in it and I wanted to see how Jack's dad was like.

Favourite parts had to be when the little crabs were pulling The Black Pearl and the crew and Will and Elizabeth were liek "WTF?", then when everyone was pointing swords at each other and when Will got stabbed at the end. I seriously, and un-fan girlishly LAUGHED when he died. Sure, I liked Will and all but seeing him get stabbed just made me laugh dunno why. XD

Ha. Barbossa pronounced them married during a fight scene. That made me laugh so hard when they were making out and people were fighting around them like nothing was going on. XD

I also didn't get the chance to see the little scene after the credits. Wish I did. .___.

 

Im very surprised it was your favorite. So many people are diehard PotC1 fans. Thats kinda the problem, some peple werent willing to branch out for 2, and 2 was like 3 but three was more sinister which is what turned some people off to 2. So its kinda like if you didntlike 2, ten 3 will dissapoint you. IDK, personlaly I loved them all equally. You cant get better than pirates.

I already saw it. Ok so it shows Elizabeth and her son walking to the edge of this one cliff. Then the sun goes down and they see the green flash. Then the Flying Dutchman comes out of the water and Will is there unchanged. Nobody aged at all when those 10 years passed. Oh yeah and did Jack find the fountain of youth?

 

I saw it last night, and it was a really good film. Long but good. People say there were too many characters but I didn't feel there were.
