Implemented Pins Suggestions

I know pins have just been introduced and thanks the ones I've seen look epic! But that brings me to my suggestion, can we have something which tells us spersificly how to earn one like for exsample "You can earn the 'whatever pin' by helping 50 people with their kh problems on the KH Help page of the fourm" this way people will acctually know if a staff member hasn't given them a pin they are due.
I don't mean to sound rude or seem ungrateful by finding the smallest falt with a kh-vids gift but I think it would be worth while.

Fair enough. It's difficult to find that page unless you have a pin of your own.

 

We'll keep this in mind, of course. We're still working out the kinks of the pins, since they're something entirely new. But we hope that it is more accessible in the future.
But, just in case, next time, just press any of the pins in your pin tab, and it'll take you to where you want to go. Thanks for the input. You don't have to feel sorry for asking, that way others will know where to look next time.

 

THREAD HIJACK

We should add an 'Awards' section to the top bar, right between What's New? and Video Portal.

 

We were going to, it's disabled for now but it'll be there probably in the new future. <3 I think we're just waiting right now until we have a few more pins and work out some of the kinks.

I'm going to leave this open in case anyone else has some input.

 

I know this is an obviouse idea but how about some more easly gained pins so the people who find it hard to get like 2000 posts or aren't on during one of the events can say they got at least one pin....

 

Every pin must be manually handed out by the mods.

 

I still think we should have some easly obtained ones

maybe not maybe 500 posts...... and maybe one like the exsample I posted at the beggining one given for answering KH 'help' threads alot just some doesn't have to be many that people will find a little easier to obtain

 

Well, for one thing like P said, we have to manually give out pins. There are a lot of people with 500+ posts, that's a lot of pins to give out.

Plus, we didn't want to make pins that easy to get, for the simple reason that then when we are offering them, it will be a bigger deal. We will add more pins periodically, but for now, just try to get the ones already up there. :]

 

i know a good pin: for whoever wins the top 5. though, i have no idea if anyone still looks through those videos. it'd be great to give a pin to the top 5 people every week.

EDIT: ok it seems to be dead judging from the last time it was updated. but it would've been a good idea if it weren't. still, i think the previous winners deserve a pin.

 

We actually do have a pin for that all ready to go and whatever, we're just waiting for it to start again. :]

 

Just to add to the responses to this, some Event pins are easy to get - most of the time you just need to participate. As time goes on, we're very likely to have more special Events, so keep your eyes open for announcements of that type.

In a way that was part of my point. Pins for people who are offline during the events. For exsample I missed both the castle of lost memories and the pin presentation events.

 

Well the Castle Oblivion event was up for at least a week, as was Secret Santa, and we staggered the KHV 2010 pin to compensate for time zones a bit. Don't sweat it though, there will be more event pins in the future. :] For now just work towards getting the achievement ones we've got up.

 

I wasn't here for any events or the introduction of pins. I was pretty confused when I got online lol
While I think there should be future events where we get some forewarning of the chance of pins, I really liked how the Castle Oblivion and KHV Anniversary pins weren't given any warning (not that I know of anyway). It was a surprise like "Hey, guess what? Get some pins quick."
So what I'm saying
More events.
Some with warning (to be fair to everyone so they know an event is coming), but somewhat stricter rules (like Anniversary was given only to a set number and it was locked halfway through).
Some without warning (SURPRISE, PIN CHANCE).

Just my two-cents.

For actual pin events, I can't really think of anything >> Except for the Summer awards.
Question though:
This doesn't really apply to me, but when I was browsing the pins, I saw the SotW pin without any receivers. Are people who won in the past also going to get a pin for this? (that's not me, but I'm just curious about it).

 

We do plan on having more events, we just haven't really thought of any/started any. ;o They will happen though.

As for SotW, I'm not quite sure. I suppose that that would be fair, so maybe. We'll see what happens I guess, haha.
