What are some phases you've gone through in your life?

When I was starting my teenage years, I wanted to learn how to cook meat. My mom said you needed to be very careful when handling raw meat and thoroughly wash your hands, and I freaked out. From that point on for a while, I was afraid of germs and would constantly wash or sanitize my hands, even if I had just done something like touch my dog and I was then just going to play a game afterward.

It lasted a while, but my mom doesn't think it even lasted a year. I eventually got over it.

Anime phase. It's the story of my life!

Now in all seriousness, I've been through many phases.

The furthest I can remember was a football phase i guess? to be honest I've never been fond of football at all though but when I was young I guess I joined a team but didn't like it in the end

The next one would be my dressing up as spider-man phase, I always used to love doing that, also sword fighting with sticks I guess, which was why I loved KH1's destiny islands i just always wanted to swing something around

anyways the one i'm not sure if i'd call it a phase or what but, I used to be scared of walking up my own house stairs after watching harry potter chamber of secrets, mostly because I got really scared of the voice harry hears the baselisk I think. I don't know how long it took to get rid of the fear but i'm sure it took a while.

I've never really had any phases I don't think. I've always liked books and I din't think 11 years of anime and 14 years of gaming counts as a "phase". I think my phases mostly have to do with my hair. In grade 7, I always wore my hair in a low pony tail, grade 8 had braids, grade 9 had either high pony tail or down, onwards was down mostly. Now I'm in the "alternating between high ponytail, low ponytail, braids and - rarely - down" thing. Mostly because I don't feel like doing much with my hair in the mornings so I do what's easiest.

I think around past 6 months a phase can turn into an obsession, cause a phase is a short period of time. obsession or hobby whatever you like to call it I guess.

I remember also we had a Yu-gi-oh card phase within school when everybody was collecting them and trading them, along with battling beyblades now a days kids have phones I guess and don't bring toys or anything to school. My sister is in year 2 now and she's not really took anything like that though everyone when I was that age was always bringing something to school.

That's a good question. Honestly, I think it has to do with age and experience.

I've always wanted to be an actor or VO, but lately I'm looking to be someone who helps others, fights for erasing hate and possibly find a job as a television host and on air/television personality, such as Ryan Seacrest.

I don't think I've had many phases throughout my life. The only one I can think of at the moment is one that I guess I'm going through right now. I'm afraid of getting older and also afraid that I won't do well in life. :/

Oh, Lord have mercy, I have gone through so many phases. Kingdom Hearts was obviously one. That started in seventh grade and went on for a year or so. Before that there was anime, scoured the internet for pretty pixel-y anime pictures for hours for my binders. Final Fantasy followed Kingdom Hearts, I still go through little phases for those every now and then. I'm beginning to think cosplay is going to be a phase. I've been doing that for a few years now but it's just kinda meh to me now. I like conventions, but just I dunno. That is really just a few of them, I know I went through the typical teenage girl not quite emo phase. But we're not gonna talk about that one.

I don't think I've gone through a lot of phases, to be honest. Nothing really feels like a phase anyway.

I will say that I did go through a phase in anime, which I hear a lot of people go through when they start watching it. It was kind of an Elitist Phase. I had just started watching it, probably less than a year of exposure, and I was acting like it's the single best medium of art in the world. And I wouldn't touch English dubs because "Japanese is the best language evar and I'm not wrong!!!".

Thankfully, I"ve moved out of that phase. I watch a lot of anime, but I also watch plenty of other television shows and movies. I'm also a big fan of English dubs, and want to get some kind of foot in the industry, although I have been listening to more Japanese dubs over the past year. That simply amounts to me watching a lot of Crunchyroll and not having money to pay for a FUNimation subscription.

I've been through multiple phases and it seems like each phase had its own little sub-phase. I had that 'I wanna be a game developer' phase. I had the 'I wanna be a cop' phase. I've had the 'camouflage is an excellent style choice' phase. I've been through so many phases it hurt.

I'm at that point now where the phases have stopped. I am who I am. I know who I am. Experimentation is over happy with the end result.

I think I actually cried one time, well not cried but you know those spontaneous tears from certain thoughts, because I depicted just one event changing in my past that would in turn change who I am today. Not to be all nerdy but it's kind of like the Doctor ... if you change something from my past I wouldn't be the same person. Sure it'd be me but it would be ME.

It's been a long time in the making but through trial and error I found who I am.

Phases I've gone through? Good question and for me sadly there is quite a list.
There is the overly competative phase I went through around the age of 10 because my brother always beat me at everything.
There was a no white clothes phase I had at 12 but that was because I wore all white when going to a water park big misake.
There was a Rat tail phase at 15 because I hated the hair cuts my parents forced on me.
I went through an emo phase from 13-16 because of bullying.
And that is all I can think of right now.

I have been through many phases but most would probably just be my various obsessions.

    • My first phase was probably Johnny Depp, I would watch everything I possibly could that he'd been in when I was about 10 (including an 18 film called Blow which I hated because it was quite adult and the ending was sad for a fan of Johnny Depp). Within that was a "Pirates of the Caribbean" phase, a "Sleepy Hollow" phase etc.
    • There was also a Narnia phase where I watched it every friday night with a bag of M&M's because I fancied William Moseley and the story was magical.
    • Then there was the Kingdom hearts phase that lasted a long while.
    • Then there was a church phase where I started fancying someone very strongly at my youth group.
    • There was my emo phase that came about when my sister, whom I am very close to, left for university and I became very withdrawn and depressed and lost a lot of friends.
    • Then there was my Bleach and Death Note phase.
    • Somewhere there was my Team Fortress 2 phase where I literally played it from when I got home from school to when I went to bed.
    • Same for a Left 4 Dead 2 phase- I racked up abotu 150 hours within a few weeks of having the game... and this was during year 10 exam times.
    • And then came the phase that isn't a phase but A LIFESTYLE! >:3 Yeah, I found Doctor Who and never looked back. I wouldn't count this as a phase as I'm still going through it and will probably love this program until I die.

I love every single phase, fiction has played such a huge part in my life and I think some people underestimate how important it is to the human race. Where would we be without fiction?
