Yeah, maybe a gummi ship or perhaps he could open dark portals of his own since he was linked with Darkness and using it at times. If he could summon shadows, he probably could dark portal.

It's just part of the game system imo. I think he was only watching the fight, but decided to go to Hollow Bastion after what they said. You know, after he's locked out of the castle..

 

Oh, you mean during the actual battle. I'd just assume that he ran off and was monitoring the fight and secretly made his way over to the door while Sora was fighting the Heartless. It's just a game thing to 'ignore the world around' while you face the beings you are in combat with, so we didn't get to see what Pete was up to. He obviously didn't leave the whole area or else he wouldn't have gone from the side of the tree line to the door, even if we didn't actually see it.

 

Exactly - it's the same thing that happens in Agrabah and Pride Lands, no? Pete isn't visible during combat. Only in the Underworld and Timeless River since he was more of a part of the battle.

 

Hmmmmm I guess that would explain it, HEY WAIT! Remember after Sora, Donald, and Goofy got done fighting the Heartless he shows up at an empty field not at the door, So I think he moved but another problem is how did he move without us knowing?

 

It's a thing in the game, you don't see him when you're fighting, but it is not relative to the actual plot. They want you to be completely focused on the battle, and Pete is just disappearing for that purpose.
