Alright, so I need a new game. ;___; Until Days comes out, i'm bored with my video game life and all I do is sit on this chair, on my laptop, and I want a new game that I know I will like, or seems interesting. I'm very picky in everything. So, I hear Persona is a great series. I've seen many people express how much they like the games, i've seen graphics, I have seen alot, and once role-played in a Persona rpg at another forum even though I didn't know what it was about, just the basics of the story. So i'm wondering on your opinions on this game series. What do you like/dislike about the games, and which of the games is the best? I hear Persona 3 is better with storyline, depth, characters, and music. :/
Music is great in both. But in Final Boss and Important Boss themes, Persona 3 wins it. Persona 3 is excatly as you think. Better Characters, More Depth, Epic Battles. But it depends on how much you listen. Persona 4 has ALOT of cutscene IMO. But it's pretty great. It's normal Boss theme is better than Persona 3's Normal Boss themes. It's better to play 3 First because you'll have a grasp of what to do in Persona 4, It made more gameplay improvements. Both are excellent and highly recommended. But 3 THEN 4. And make sure you get FES for 3.
There is no doubt that the Persona series is very good and well worth buying. Personally I think Persona 4 is a little better as a game since you can micromanage, it has more dungeon variety, and it has a better score. Persona 3 has better voice acting and an arguably better story and you can alter the Main Character's weaponry between types but they are basically about the same overall. So there is no reason to play one and not the other. One thing to recommend 3 is P3FES which comes with both Journey and Answer sections. The first two Persona games are PS era and I can't say anything about them.
Persona is a fantastic series. It was a great story and you'll be playing it for a long time. Though, if you get P4, you might not play it much past your first run-through. The 3rd has great RPG elements, while the fourth has great story. I haven't played the 1st or 2nd, however. I hear positive things about them thankfully. Also if you want another good game, The World Ends With You is a great DS game. I'm still addicted to it and it has been like, a year. that's the most since KH. xD
Dunno what these guys are on because I liked P4 a lot more. A common complaint with P4's story is that during a very crucial part towards the end of the game, it was presented with the opportunity to deepen but it didn't. Another was that the actual antagonist felt very tacked on, but I didn't think that was that much of a problem. And P4's ending didn't have the same atmosphere as P3's, sure, but I still dig it for a multitude of reasons. Unlike P3, P4 didn't have characters I wanted to strangle. The music is infinitely better in P4. Not like you'll be getting a whole lot of music from P3 anyway, since you'll be stuck in Tartarus (which is a ******ed ass dungeon) for most of the game anyway, but I am rather fond of BABY BABY BABY BABY BUHBABYBABYBABYBABY
This is just exaggeration...You're just someone who played P4 first, and then played the third. I greatly enjoyed the third...and P3FES would be the way to go if you want a long game...it is repetitive, but it's not something to pull the game off over. But if you can't handle or don't like a steady repetitive pace, then P3 might not be for you.
I was hardly exaggerating. P3 being repetitive is a bit of a moot point since both games are grindgrindgrindgrindgrind.
Revelations: Persona and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment still had better storylines than either of the PS2 installments imo. Persona 2: Innocent Sin...I don't know. Dragging Hitler into it was a bit over the top...
I haven't finished Persona 4; I'm at the end of Persona 3. I'd suggest playing Persona 3 first, because the improvements made in P4 make the majority of P3 not quiiite as fun. (Though I like the analyzing better in 3.) I'm in the middle of P2:Innocent Sin, and I'm not liking the gameplay as much as 3 or 4. I'd reccomend the games, though.
