Persona: New Awakening

Sakura held her Evoker and sighed, placing it in her holster. She rubbed her stomach and smiled, following the others. When she noticed the look of worry on their faces for her condition, she said, "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I just hope the baby will be alright in the Dark Hour." She sighed and rubbed her hair.

 

Leila crossed her arms as she stopped in front of Gekkoukan High's gates, her eyes gazing up at the school. "It's time," she said towards the group, crossing her arms as their surroundings suddenly changed to an eerie green. The almost completed moon changed to a bright yellow as the school the students knew was now changing and expanding. Once everything was done, Leila turned around to face the group, lowering her arms down to her sides. "This is Tartarus. I'm not too sure how many of you have seen it, but I doubt all of you have." She turned her back on the group and walked towards the entrance of the tower, waving her hand at the others to follow her in.

Terri looked around the area, stepping a little closer to the group as everything changed to such a creepy place. Hearing the school change, she looked up at the building, her eyes growing wide. She had seen Gekkoukan High change to Tartarus before, and her reaction then was completely different compared to now. She hadn't seen it change in quite some time now that she almost forgot, but it still wasn't as surprising compared to her first time seeing Tartarus. She followed after Leila, her hand momentarily touching her Evoker at her side. This is pretty much it.

 

Haruka continued to skate, after having done her shift, she was heading back... and then...

Everything changed.

Everything seemed to turn a dark colour. Everything electrical stopped working, including Haruka's headphones...
and people... well, they suddenly became coffins.
"It's that time again?"
She went to check her phone for the time.. but then remembered that it wouldn't be working either.
"Around about midnight anyway..."
She wondered what this strange change was. She'd experienced it everyday (well, that she could remember so far anyway) and she knew it wasn't normal, but she had no idea what it was either.
Yet another set of answers I've got to find for myself,
She shrugged and sighed as she started to skate again.

 

"The food at Wild Duck sure was filling," burped Vincent as he patted his stomach in satisfaction. He was on the way home from getting something to eat and while he usually wouldn't stay out this late on a school day, he was just too refreshed from all the sleeping he did this afternoon to be tired. With only a few minutes left before the clock would strike twelve, he walked calmly down the street in the direction of the dorm.

It's time.

Making a sharp turn to see who had spoken but as usual, Vincent saw nobody. "Who's there?!" yelled Vincent as he continued to look around rashly. I honestly think I'm going insane. And then it happened. One by one the street lights turned off and the buildings, the night sky, and even the moon above started to assume a sickly green color, giving the environment a green glow. "What is this?!" Looking at his watch, he saw that both the minute and second hand had frozen in place. Scared of what might happen next, he started to run towards the dormitory. As the people around him started to turn into what looked like coffins, running became sprinting and then he saw it in the distance, a massive tower erupting from the ground, piercing into the heavens. I must be insane.

 

"So, this is tartarus." Allen said watching the school he's always gone to turn into this giant tower. Any reason our school turns into this. Allen thought following Leila into tartarus. It was confusing trying to figure why the school did this during the Dark Hour.

 

The school twisted and bended into a strange tower that reached the green sky above. Below Arthur, he noticed the floor drip in what seemed to be blood and the few people outside at this hour turned to coffins. Inside the building seemed even more complex, the first floor held a pair of elegant stairs and a large door. His green eyes scanned the area wondering just how high the tower went. ". .You said you would explain further . ." Arthur finally spoke meeting Leila's gaze, crossing his arms to his chest. "What's our purpose here?"

 

Leila stepped closer to the stairs, momentarily stopped as she felt something outside of Tartarus. Her eyes narrowed before shaking the thought and turning towards the group. "Beyond that door is the labyrinth of Tartarus. When entering, you must all stick together. Tartarus is like a nest for the Shadows. Countless of Shadows lie within Tartarus so it is vital to stick together and work together as a team." She crossed her eyes and lowered her head, closing her eyes. "There are twelve Shadows that need to be defeated. These twelve were once taken down by a group of Persona-users ten years ago. After defeating those twelve Shadows, they needed to defeat Nyx. When Nyx descends upon Tartarus, it is the end of the world." Sighing lowly, Leila turned her back on the group and paced slowly, keeping her arms folded around her chest. "Those twelve Shadows have returned and so will Nyx if she is not stopped." Hearing Holden's question, the girl shook her head lightly. "The inside is very confusing, easy to get lost in. So I'm providing back up from here."

 

"How are we going to defend ourselves against the Shadows?" Sakura asked. "Surely, you have prepared some weapons for us to use so we can fight against them?" She rubbed her stomach and sighed.

 

Leila lightly shook her head at Holden, turning off to a large suitcase like box by the stairs. She pushed it closer towards the group and opened it to reveal several sheathed weapons. "Choose what you like from here," she said, motioning her hand down at the case. "Simply relying on your Persona alone can bring a pretty bad toll on your body. You'll become fatigued more easily." She stepped off to the side and let the group choose what they liked. She kept her arms crossed as she looked at each of the students, soon setting her eyes on a leader. "Holden, you'll be the leader when exploring Tartarus. It'll be your decision on what the group has to do in there, but also be caution and make sure you all work as a team." She lowered her arms down to her sides and looked at Arthur, nodding her head at him. "If anything happens to Holden, such as maybe you guys end up split up or just anything at all, you'll be in charge until Holden returns."

Terri clasped her hands behind her back, listening to Leila as her eyes wandered up the staircase and towards the door. This is the first time I come in here. Slightly nervous, she breathed in deeply and began wondering if she would be able to summon her Persona. Having an object that looks like a gun to summon a Persona only made the nerves worse, making Terri feel hesitant about all of this. I already know how to summon it but... Hearing something about weapons, Terri's train of thought was cut short as her eyes wandered over towards the case that held several weapons. Moving to the front of the group, she crouched down and a chose one of the swords in it, soon stepping to the side as she strapped the sheathe at her hip.

 

Allen walked over to the box of weapon and took a look at all of them. How did she get all these. He thought before grabing a scythe from the box.

 

Leader. . as much as Arthur liked the idea he personally felt that it wouldn't come to this as it would mean the possibility of loosing Holden. Walking over towards the case of weapons the blonde took a rapier of his liking, being experienced with duels he figured it would be much easier to choose something that he knew how to defend and fight. Carefully placing the rapier in its sheathe and strapping it towards his waist he turned to face Leila and glance briefly at the group. Arthur wondered how the inside of the dungeon would look like and just how many floors the place had. Still he was eager to fight, being one of the select few who held the power of a Persona. "We only have an hour right? How do we return?"

 

"Correct," Leila answered Arthur, taking a couple steps away from the staircase and somewhere she felt would be perfect for her. "If you do end up wanting to leave Tartarus, look for an Access Point. I don't want you guys going very far just yet. Since this is your first time entering Tartarus, I only want you to explore the first floor and then come right back down." She reached down at her Evoker, pulling it up and looking at the group. "And if you're wondering how to summon your Persona," Leila paused as she raised the Evoker and pointed it at her temple. "Lucia!" Pulling the trigger, a burst of light escaped from Leila, and when it faded, she stood inside what looked like a woman, her arms stretched out in front of her who had bandages covering her whole face except for her mouth. Leila stood inside a large glass-like container, her Persona just above her. "When you're ready, go up the stairs."

 

Calm down Vincent. Calm down. Breathing in and out slowly, Vincent tried to calm himself down. "Is this a nightmare?" he asked himself as he pinched his cheek to check if all of what had happened really was some sick and twisted nightmare but as he felt a surge of pain, he realized that no matter how improbable this situation was, this was reality. Walking around the area to find somebody else who was unaffected, he only came across coffins that were once the people who were walking the streets. In the direction of his school, a mysterious tower had appeared and the more he looked at it, the more he wanted to see what was there. While a lot of things changed when the clock struck twelve, this tower was the only thing that appeared out of thin air so surely it must be connected to all of this somehow. "Plus I'm sure that if anybody else was stuck here like I am. Their curiosity would mostly like bring them over to that tower," said Vincent as he ran in the direction of his school.

 

From where Haruka was... she couldn't see the school as she skated slowly and leisurely back to the police station.
So she had no idea about what was going on.
She didn't panic about her circumstances or anything though... she was used to this strange transformation that seemed to happen at midnight.
Sure this strange thing had only started happening recently. (If it had happened before she lost her memories, she couldn't be sure for obvious reasons) But Haruka was just use to the 'strange' for some reason... voices, visions of purple rooms among other things were just some of the things on the list. Her lack of memory was another.
It was all connected somehow... she was sure of that.


OOC: Yeah, I'm gonna wait for the fullmoon, before anything remotely Persona/shadow like happens with Haruka. Sort of how it was like in-game since obviously the full moons were key events.

 

Sakura had picked a pair of daggers connected by a chain. She looked at the team and rubbed her stomach, sighing. As Lelia showed them how to summon their Persona, Sakura looked at her Evoker. She wondered to herself if she could have the courage to pull the trigger and bring forth Orpheus. With a sigh, she placed her Evoker away and looked at the stairs.

Terri inhaled deeply and slowly followed after Holden, putting one hand on the hilt of her sword. She could feel the nerves building up inside her as she stared just over Holden's shoulder and at the large door. Just point the Evoker at my head and pull the trigger. she thought quietly to herself, exhaling quietly. She stopped for a moment, turning slightly to look over at the others, wondering if they felt just as nervous as she did. Lowering her eyes down at the steps, Terri turned back around and looked at Holden, curious to know if how well of a leader he could be.
