Persona: New Awakening

Haruka nodded and followed after Terri, walking through the doors after she had.
She looked around at the weird room.
The Command Room. "Wow, you got a pretty fancy setup here." she acknowledged.
Then she saw people looking at her. Including the girl from yesterday who had been injured.
Leila was it?
Haruka quickly gave a smile and raised a hand in greeting to everyone. "Uh, heya." she spoke.
"Um... I guess I should introduce myself properly since yesterday was... well, busy.
The name's Haruka. Nice to meet'cha!"
Most people would formally bow upon making a greeting. But Haruka wasn't really the formal type.
But she figured she was being polite and friendly enough though anyway.

 

"Hello. I'm Sakura. Don't mind this, I'm expecting something very special." Sakura smiled and rubbed her stomach.

Without anytime to go back to his room and put his stuff away, Vincent just advanced to the Command Room along with everybody. He had wanted to take a shower and put on some clothes that didn't smell of his sweat as well but with the meeting about to start, there wasn't enough time. Guess it'll have to wait until after the meeting Walking into the room behind Terri and Haruka, he waved hello to the people who had already arrived and said, "Sorry for being late but time flies by when you're at the dojo." Looking around the Command Room, he found an empty seat and sat down, laying the bookbag that had rested on his back onto the floor.

Terri smiled and nudged Haruka to step further into the room before she quietly made her way towards a seat near Vincent. Sitting down, she slouched forward a little and pressed her elbows against her knees, keeping her attention on Haruka.

"He's Hattori and I'm Leila." Leila's eyes fell immediately on Haruka as soon as the girl came through the doors. She smiled faintly and crossed her arms around her chest. "I'm glad you showed up. There's a couple things we need to talk about to you, but Holden said he had something to say," she said, motioning her hand towards Holden's direction. "What is it that you wanted to say, Holden?"

 

"We need her though," Terri quickly spoke up before the others did. She sat forward in her seat and pressed the palms of her hands against her knees as she looked up at Holden. "I mean...I can understand why this might come up because of the baby, but we're going to need as much help as we can get with defeating Nyx."

Leila lowered her gaze as her eyes narrowed, raising one hand to rub her chin thoughtfully. "Terri has a point." She lowered her arms down to her sides and slowly made her way towards Holden and Haruka. "We will need all the help we can get in reaching our goal." She momentarily looked over at Haruka and smiled before standing beside Holden and returning her attention towards the group. "But...Holden has a point as well."

 

"That would probably be for the best, until Sakura gives birth to the baby, that is. Even if she kept fighting before then, I could shoulder most of the burden for her." Hattori said as he looked up at the group.

BIC: "I'm going to have to agree with Holden on this," said Vincent as he looked over to Terri. "I can understand us needing as many people as possible to fight Nyx but we still have a lot of time left before that, don't we? By then, Sakura should be in top condition. And it's not like she'll be static the whole time...," He paused and looked at Leila. "She'll be protecting Leila. If Leila were to be attacked and nobody were to get there in time, we would lose a vital member of the team. Without her, navigating through Tarturus and fighting the Shadows would become even harder. Leaning back in his chair, he looked towards the ceiling and let out a sigh. 'Plus I'd would feel like I had a heavier weight on my conscience if she were to go out there the way she is right now'

 

"Um... I know I'm new here...
but, I'd also have to agree with what the tough guy said..." Haruka said, referring to Holden.
I mean, look what happened yesterday.
I don't get it exactly, but you were attacked by the Big Shadow outside the monorail..." She said, while looking at Leila.
"So... its not like having her with you would be a bad idea.
Besides, now that I'm here, I can also pick things up until she... um... Sakura is ready to return."
Haruka then looked around the room, and suddenly realised she might have said too much, so she raised her arms like in surrender.
"Oh! I didn't mean to sound like a replacement... I just meant... well...
I mean, Sakura? What do you think?" she figured, deciding to ask the girl directly.

 

"I'm fine with it. And that sounds like the best thing to do." Sakura said. "I'll make sure that Leila is protected. Besides, everyone's right, Haruka." She sighed and looked at Haruka, smiling.

 

Terri frowned slightly and nodded her head at everyone's agreement to let Sakura stay with Leila. She sat back in her seat, slightly happy that Haruka said something and that Sakura wasn't upset with Holden's comment.

Leila crossed her arms around her chest and lowered her head, a faint smile forming on her lips. "I'd also like to point out, nobody is being replaced. SEES isn't a club that replaces members just because one is injured or anything else." She opened her eyes and looked at the group. "We are a team. We work together, regardless of how one might be a liability. Each of our well being's matter. And if one has a burden, it's not just theirs, it is all of ours." Leila placed her hands on her hips and made her way across the room slowly before turning around and facing Haruka. "Now that, that is settled. It sounds like you've made your decision, Haruka." She momentarily averted her gaze towards Terri before looking back at the girl's classmate. "So you've heard a bit of what you'd be up against if you joined SEES?"

 

"Hell yeah, I wanna help.
I've been experiencing this Dark Hour for a while now.
I can't just sit through it when I know others are doing something about it." Haruka sounded.
"I know there are those shadow thingies.
Those guys were easy... I was kicking butt before I even knew about Persona.
Although that big one was a bitch, but we all got it in the end right?
So it just comes down to team work.
I'm gonna guess that this Nyx thing you were talking about is some big apocalyptical nightmare that only we can stop?
How close am I?"

 

Sakura kept quiet, listening to everyone. She sighed, her hands on her stomach, thinking that protecting Leila would be simple. She looked at Haruka, listening to her guess. She smiled, "Not too far off. But we don't know much ourselves."

 

Leila perked an eyebrow as she cocked her head, nodding her head a little at Haruka. "Well, you are pretty close," she said as she raised a hand and rubbed the back of her neck. "You see, what you've been experiencing is called the Dark Hour. And during that time, normal people are turned into coffin like figures and don't remember anything. If a human does somehow retain consciousness during the Dark Hour, then that either means that a Shadow will prey on them or they are a Persona-user." She crossed her arms once more and sighed lowly. "SEES isn't a normal club. We're a team that goes into a tower called Tartarus and defeat Shadows to become stronger. And along that way, we encounter a much larger and stronger Shadow that we must defeat. We encountered one last night and thanks to you, we were able to defeat it."

Leila made her way towards the side of the monitor and picked up a suitcase she had left there the day before. She had a feeling they'd up running into Haruka at some point and felt the need to leave that suitcase in the Command Room. She made her way back toward the group and placed the silver box on top of the table, motioning for Haruka to step closer. "The thing you used yesterday is called an Evoker. It appears as a gun but they are designed to summon a Persona. Those beings you saw and the being you summoned is a Persona." She unclipped the locks on the suitcase and opened it, revealing an Evoker. "This was specially designed for your use."

 

Haruka stepped forwards as she was motioned to and picked up the item in the box.
She took the Evoker from it's holster and spun it on her finger a few times before putting it back in it's Holster.
"Heh, well suddenly things are making more sense." she said.
"It's a shame I didn't find you guys sooner... I've been wandering around the Dark Hour for ages just wandering what is going on.
I mean... I could make guesses, like with the coffin thing... but yeah."
She looked at Leila, as she held the holster in her hand.

She gulped before she had to ask her question though... clearly showing some discomfort.
"The school... I heard it transforms...
I'm guessing it's into Tartarus right?"

 

Leila cocked her head and perked an eyebrow, surprised by Haruka's discomfort with the word "Tartarus." Then again, everyone else was rather surprised to find out their school turned into a monster infested tower. Clearing her throat, Leila nodded her head in response. "Yes. I know it sounds strange and I'm pretty sure seeing the school change will shock you even more. Inside Tartarus are Shadows. We've already explored a couple of floors but we're not very far up."

 

Haruka nodded at the confirmation to her question...
"Um... I have something I want to say... if that's okay?
It might not be accurate... but it's a revelation that has come to me recently... in regards to meeting you guys and learning this stuff..." she said a bit awkwardly...
