Persona: New Awakening

Leila breathed in deeply as soon as she felt the strain around her neck subside, coughing loudly as one of her hands gently rubbed her neck. She leaned against Holden and opened her eyes, looking towards the Shadow. "That's...what you'll be fighting," she mumbled before turning her attention towards Thanatos. She breathed in deeply once more as she lowered her head, moving her hand to grab Holden's collar gently as she looked up at him. "You saved me..."

The Shadow cried loudly as it felt one of its parts be cut off. It growled lowly as I looked towards Thanatos and then at Holden. It raised its hand towards its mouth as if it was blowing a kiss, summoning several lower leveled Shadows that had appeared earlier.

 

"That would be our prey, I would assume." Hattori said as he summoned Lucifer. He felt energy welling up in him as he used mind charge. "I'll handle the little ones, you go after the big one, Holden."

 

Leila gently placed her hand on Holden's shoulder, staring up at him while Hattori showed up. She felt the burning sensation around her neck subside while her breathing returned to normal. Her eyebrows raised slightly as her gaze shifted towards Holden's grin, her lips parting a bit. She leaned a bit closer, her hand sliding to back of Holden's neck to pull him closer. Realizing what she was doing, Leila quickly leaned back, her lips pressing tightly together as she lowered her eyes, her feet touching the ground. She took a couple steps behind Holden and tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear, chewing her lip. Why was I doing that? Sighing, she reached for her hip, feeling her Evoker wasn't in its holster. "Where's my Evoker?" She spun around in a circle as her hands touched around her waist. "I dropped it?"

The Shadow growled as it watched Thanatos' attack. It leaned back again and summoned more lower leveled Shadows, looking around towards those that had shown up. Arching its back slightly, the Shadow pressed its hands against the pavement as the strange strands of hair shot out towards Holden and Hattori.

 

"Messiah, God's Hand!" Allen said using his evoker to summon his persona. As the coffins on messiah's arm opened, a cloud appearsed over the giant shadow's head releasing a golden fist which impacted the shadow dead on. "How about instead we watch each others backs."

 

Haruka followed after the others...
"Woah, that huge thing is ugly ain't it." she acknowledged as the others were fighting the things...
She thought she had heard someone call them... 'Shadows?'
Well, it seemed an appropriate name.
Regardless, she wasn't just gonna stand around and let herself be protected.
"Hey, don't leave me outta this!" She yelled as she ran forwards, jumped into the air and stepped on a hovering shadow, launching herself higher into the air where she did a dive bomb kick into another shadow, span around as she flipped off from the impact and delivered a double punch to it as she landed causing it to dissipate.
"Heh, take that!" she called out as she made a thumbs up gesture and pointed to herself with her thumb. "That one was for trying to blow me up."
Suddenly 3 more surrounded her, but she jumped backwards to get some room.
Unfortunately... she stood on something and lost her balance causing her to fall over. she looked at what had caused her to trip...
It was a gun like object... like the type that the others had used before.
The shadows loomed above her...
her hand... crept towards the gun... her usual demeanour gone.
As she felt her fingers touch the cold metallic surface of the gun, she felt a change happen inside her.
Her heart started pounding.
Every beat ticking off every moment as time seemed to slow around her from the adrenaline boost she was getting.
She stood up.
An instinct seemed to take over her as she slowly raised the gun up to her head and aimed it at her temple...
It was a weird instinct to put a gun to your head... but she didn't question it either.
It hadn't mattered that she had vaguely noticed the others had done the same... all that mattered was this guiding instinct as her heart thumped faster...

Thump...
Thump, Thump.
Thump..
Thump, Thump.

Her finger gripped the trigger..

I am thou. Thou art I.
The time has come. Open thigh eyes and call forth what is within in.



"Per-
son...
a!"


The words escaped her mouth as three separate syllables. She didn't even know what this Persona thing was... again the instinct just guided her.
...
She pulled the trigger.
Her eyes seemed to flash and shards of light seemed to escape from her brain as an aura of power escaped from her and took form in a physical manifestation behind her.
The looming shadows got blown backwards as a long blade slashed them away, causing them to vanish into nothing-ness.

Haruka spoke one more word...
A name.
"Izanagi."

"Orpheus, Agilao!!!!!!!!" Sakura shouted, shooting herself as the mechanical bodied singer appeared and began to play its heart-shaped harp. As it played, fire was upon the shadow. The fire covered the shadow and disappeared when the attack was done, as did Orpheus. Sakura gripped her daggers, seeing the shadow still around.

 

"You two need to be quicker on your feet," said Vincent to Holden and Hattori as he dashed in front of them and cut down the strands of hair that the Shadow had shot towards them with a swift slash of his katana. "Maybe this will help." Putting the Evoker to this head, he pulled the trigger and quietly said "Masukukaja" and his Persona appeared above him and waved his sword above their heads, granting them his blessings. "Let's take this thing down!"

 

Hattori barely managed to dodge the shadow's attack, feeling the strands of hair scraping his back and ripping the back of his shirt open. "Now I'm pissed." Hattori said before summoning Lucifer. Lucifer unleashed a powerful Zionga, still bolstered by mind charge.

 

"You got it, boss." Hattori said as he turned his focus back to the smaller shadows. He charged in, swinging his axe wildly with a feral look in his eyes.

 

"Hattori, be careful! Don't use your Persona so much. It can kill you!" Leila kept a distance away from the group as she kept her hand tightly against the wound on her shoulder. Hearing an unfamiliar voice, she looked towards where it had come from and quickly Haruka. "It was her!" She kept her injured arm down at her side as she watched Haruka summon a Persona with her Evoker, her eyes growing wide at the scene. "Haruka, fight against the Shadows!" Confident the girl could do a good job, Leila turned her attention back towards the main Shadow, feeling its strength getting weaker.

Terri summoned her Persona one last time, striking some of the surrounding enemies with Mabufu. Lowering her Evoker, she breathed in deeply and looked towards the others before turning her attention towards Haruka. Well, I guess she'll be joining SEES now. She quickly turned around and ran over to Leila, looking at her wound. "I can heal it." She gently grabbed Leila's hand and moved it away from the wound. Leila, who had nodded her head in agreement, winced quietly as she lowered herself down on the ground as Terri raised her hand and a faint glow came from it, beginning to heal the wound.

Before being tackled by Thanatos, the Shadow waved its hand once more, summoning more Shadows to keep the group occupied. It slouched forward a bit before crying loudly when it was tackled. Growling, it struggled against Thanatos, pressing it's hands against the Persona, wanting it away.

 

Haruka looked around as Leila shouted to her.
She recognised her from the school too, wow... it's like a club or something.
"Gotcha!" Haruka responded.
Knowledge of what she could do seemed to flood into her head.
"Okay Izanagi!
Let's do it, show us your power!"
The Persona seemed to let out a noise of aggression in response, gripping it's sword-spear.
"Mazio!" Haruka shouted, and lightning was summoned and attacked multiple shadows making them vanish. But there were still more, however she realised that the others could probably deal with them.
She got the feeling these guys were coming from the big Shadow, if they beat that, the problem would be sold.
The guy currently fighting it was holding his own, but with two attacking it, surely that'd go better.
Izanagi vanished as Haruka moved, running behind the big shadow.
She had done this once... so she could do it again.
She put the gun-like object to her head and pulled the trigger.
"Izanagi! Cleave!"
She ordered, her Persona powerfully slashing the big shadow from behind, hopefully distracting it long enough for the other guy to gain the upper hand.

 

Leila let out a sigh of relief as she watched the Shadow disintegrate. "They did it," she muttered, lowering her head to look down at her hand that was covered in blood. She cringed slightly before turning her attention away from her hand and towards the group. "Great job everyone," she said as she shifted slightly, feeling slightly lightheaded from the loss of blood. She looked at her wound and watched it heal little by little before turning her attention towards the group. "First full moon has been completed. And I think we've found our next Persona-user." She turned her attention towards Haruka and smiled. "Thank you for helping us."

Terri got down on her knees and focused her attention on healing Leila's shoulder. Now that the Shadow was gone, healing Leila was her priority. She breathed in deeply and placed her other hand on Leila's other shoulder, noticing she wasn't feeling well. "I didn't think we'd be able to defeat the Shadow so quickly."

 

Haruka looked at Leila and offered her a reassuring but weak smile, along with a weak thumbs up. "T'was nothing." she told the girl.
Then the gun-like object from her hand slipped from her grasp and hit the floor... her eyes closed as she fell onto her knees before falling completely to the ground. Unconcious from pure exhaustion. But of course, since she had been fighting for a little before the others came, as well as having used her Persona for the first time... It was no wonder she had blacked out.

 

Hattori sighed as he leaned against his axe for support, worn out from the battle.

"Didn't realize that using Lucifer as much as I have would be so taxing. At least we have a new ally now, a pretty good one at that."

 

Sakura picked up Haruka. "Shall we take her back to the dorm, Lelia, Terri?" She asked. "Now that we found a new Persona-user, she deserves to know what's happening right. Don't worry about me and the baby, we're fine."

 

Hearing Holden's comment, Terri backed away a bit from Leila before running over to Sakura and Haruka. "She'll be okay," she told Sakura before picking Leila's Evoker. She walked back over to Leila and looked at the wound on her shoulder, the little healing she had done was barely noticeable.

Leila watched Haruka collapsed and leaned forward a bit, wincing when she felt her shoulder sting. Damn it. "Hospitals aren't really working during this time, but the Dark Hour should be ending soon." She chewed lightly on her bottom lip and pushed herself up a little, looking over towards Holden. "Plan on picking me up again?" she asked quietly, smiling faintly. "I just feel a little dizzy. We should head back to the dorm. Tomorrow we'll talk with Haruka."
