looks like Persona 5, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and Persona Q: Shadow of the Labryinth were announced. Along with the new Arena being on the page too.​

 

i'm a little frustrated that P5 won't be coming out until winter 2014, and then the west wont see it until 2015 maybe, but at least they got a rhythm game coming out so woo

 

Yayyy Persona 5. Glad to see that something else coming out on the 3DS, too. I def need more games in my 3DS library, hehe.

Shame that it might not be cross gen. atm. It shouldn't be surprising since Persona 4 released well into the PS3's launch too, but ah well. Might be added to the PS4 at some point, or at least available on Gaikai.

As milked as P4 has been (and will still be), I gotta say I'm just as excited for Ultimax as I am for P5. All the changes were fantastic even though Narukami still probably reigns on top of the imba scale, and Adachi's finally in, couldn't ask for more. (P3 FeMC/Nyarly/Tatsuya plz)

 

2014 is truly the year of Persona. When you think of these three and Ultimax, and the first P3 movie which will probably get released in NA/EU in 2014. So amazing. Thank you, Atlus. ;-; <3

The only one I'm not too enthused about is that Dancing All Night thing. I mean...what. This goes against everything Persona stands for and is turning it into a joke. Especially by the fact it will continue P4's story.

Meh. I am thirsty AND desperate for P5 tho. So vague. Captives, huh?

 

Yeah, I find it a bit strange too, lol. But it seems like it has a focus on Rise's career and her "rivalry" with that new girl (who is either someone older/younger than her), and it sounds like everyone else is just there to help out. If it is canon, it's likely to just be a very minimal blip on the story's radar compared to what the main game & Arena are covering.

I am very curious about the story of PQ though. The MC of P3 is there and all the P3 characters are in their high school gear and appear the same age as they were in that game, so time travel story perhaps? @.@

 

Ohhhh. The new girl is probably Kaname who was mentioned in P4 as being her younger, better successor or something. Anyway, who am I kidding, I will probably buy it as ridiculous as it looks because Persona. I want to dance with Nao-doll. >_>

I'm not so sure... I was thinking more straight up non-canon than time travel? When you consider the ending of P3

Makoto being DEAD the great seal and Shinji also being not alive. Yet here they are.

But even so, EVERYONE from P3/4 seems to be here in some form. But no FeMC. D: Even freakin' Theo made it, man.

 

None of the spin offs should be considered canon I think. The spin offs are all over the place, from the manga that stars Naoto, to Arena, to the dancing game, to the crossover game. Things just contradict eachother (Why does everyone look non-epilouge P4G in P4A, why does Teddie have the wrong Persona, etc.). Just consider the numbered titles as canon and everything else as non-canon unless otherwise specified.

Excited for P5, wish that they would have made it for the PS4 though, so that they get their engine going and make more games. This gen has been pretty ****** compared to the last one when it comes to Atlus games (unless all you want are bad Persona spin offs and ports). Really hope that this game has nothing to do with P3 and P4. Happy that it appears darker than P4 was.

 

No surprise it's.. last-gen? This gen? I don't even.... NO SURPRISE IT'S PS3. Persona 3 released two years after the 360 launched and brought us all HD, and Persona 4 two years after (in NA). Just be happy it's coming out, will be an average good JRPG, and every one will flip shit like it's the second coming of Sakaguchi.

That said, color me hype. What with this, Drakengard 3, Puppeteer, and Into the Nexus, it seems the PS3 will have some life in it for at least another year.

Aww. I was hoping there'd be a simultaneous release of P5 later this year. 2015 is so far away. ;-;

I'm eager to see actual footage from the game rather than just chairs and subliminal messages.

 

Hopefully we'll get actual game footage later this year. in comparison to most games this isn't too far off and plus it's better they work longer on it to make it an optimal game. I know it's hard but it'll be worth it. we've waited ages for P5 KH3 and other neccessary sequels. I'm just happy P5 got a damn release date.

 

That's just Atlus being Atlus, Persona 4 released two years after the PS3 came out. The series has enough of a cult following for them to be safe no matter where they put it though, I think. This also gives them a chance to release Persona 5 Blooden a couple years later on the PS4, can't pass on that easy money c:

I actually really want the dancing game, the more I see of it the more it appeals to me. Still find it hilarious that it's canon though.

It sure is! They probably just picked what was most natural for the series when deciding what was canon and not canon, which is why the dancing game ended up canon and the JRPG dungeon crawler ended up not being canon. You see?
Persona has really good music, I have no doubt it will be a top tier rhythm game, if only for the music.
