I would. Just like with the homosexual things, it would be taking them out of character.

Goddammit, you beat me to the race against bluntness. Here I was about to tell him that it's because people get off to it like he does M- Maybe THAT'S inappropriate.[DOUBLEPOST=1377539519][/DOUBLEPOST]

It's out of character because TV doesn't allow that stuff, but giving certain context, the human imagination, and photoshop... BAM! Fap material

So if television allowed things like that, you'd see creators creating M-rated stuff even for things like SpongeBob?

Tying into Plums' earlier post, people jump on any small sign of any developing relationship between characters, even if they hate each other. In fact, there does not need to be a standard of interaction for people to depict smut of the aforementioned characters. In fact, there does not need to be anything between two characters for people to depict smut of said characters as long as the creators can imagine it -- this is termed a "headcanon". Ideas are powerful (and arousing, according to the internet, it seems).

    It's fan art
It's not suppose to be in character, it's entirely up to the ****er drawing the art
That doujin I jerked off to read of Lightning getting gangbanged by Snow, Sazh and Hope as a means of stress release while Fang and Vanille watched and touched themselves to it was INCREDIBLY out of character(except for Fang and Vanille being lesbians)
But who cares, I don't fap read it to see something IN CHARACTER. If I wanted to see in character ****, I would read, watch, play, jerk off to the source material

    It still depicts characters.

While I know anime characters aren't real, It would be like if I took a photo of you, cut out your face, and placed it on something inappropriate all over the Internet, that would be depicting you, and I don't think you'd like it, would you?

but like you just said... if they're not real, then why does it matter what he answers?

But see.. it's not about the reality and possibility, it's about the smut and what the viewer wants to see because it will sexually appease them.

Well, feelings are rarely hurt by fan works unless you are George R. R. Martin -- they help spread curiosity in the fandom, regardless of whether or not the content in question is a tad risqué. For most of these things I feel that a number of the original producers of these fictional works just try to ignore them. Like keeping away existential thoughts that haunt everyone at night when we are twelve years old. Internet pornography is existential. Tumblr is an avant-garde Nietzsche-inspired philosophical work.

I just don't like it, regardless of sexuality. However, my example still stands. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like someone placing your face on adult images.

...Yeah, Andy probably takes them himself. Wrong target for that one dude.

Also, your comment is invalid. What you should be saying is "placing a character you've created in adult situations." To which point, I'd agree more. Hideki Kamiya was upset people made Bayonetta porn, but then he realized people need to get off to somethin'- might as well be his character.

I'd imagine he wouldn't because these are fictional characters and not actual people (though the lines blur a bit with folk in regard to live action shows...)

Anyway. This thread's beginning to skate off the rails into lockdown territory, so if you could refrain from the fap talk and

    ...yeah, that'd be much appreciated.

Using Yu-Gi-Oh! as an example, doesn't it bother the artists that their work is being taken out of context?

    Yes, that's what I meant.

The thing is, it's hard to lay off it because that's legitimately the reason Yaoi exists. I can beat around the bush all day, and not describe images, but the subject matter won't change.
