    Wish you were here

If I fall, would you catch me?
If I hurt, would you comfort me?

If I hug you, would you smile?
If I hurt you, would you cry?

    Does it matter, now?
    We're falling through space
    an endless vaccum awaits,
I can touch each and every star form here,
But can't hold on to its light,

    I'm falling, falling through space,
Into the darkness of my mind

Song in my heart, Guitar on my back

Everytime I look forward I keep on falling back,
Can't tell my left from my right
need some guidance from the light,

Long as string, and just as strong,
In other words it's my little song
    Oh baby, we're off again

This song is my light, i'm on the path,
Step by step's a struggle, but do the math
It's not as if we're lost, or far away,
We're on our way to say...
    Clear the way!!
To the dawn of the new day
    It won't wait for you,
    The day's coming your way!

Very touching work here. I like the "can't hold on to its light" part. Nothing really negative on this. Great jobs :D

hurr read the rules. One thread per poet.~ *merged*

I liked "wish you were here", especially the verse with the rhetorical question. I think "form" should be "from" though. I wasn't as keen on the second poem, it was upbeat but didn't seem to have much meaning.

If you want me to change the title of this thread to "Afro's poetry corner" or something else along those lines, just ask.

Couldn't think of a title for this piece, I was just laying in bed one night and I started to think of some poetry.
The poem ended up talking about a type reincarnation after death, and the transition between you're death and you're new life.
Please comment and will come back with more.

Soft skin touches the cold comforting embrace of my sheets,
The pills mix like a cocktail, and the visions are more vivid,
I feel the Sandman is visiting, with a new dust for my eyes,

I'm in a sea of dreams, floating on top of the currents aimlessly,
So peaceful is the sound of the waves crashing against the bed,
The cool mist cascading on my face, I sigh in relief

The sea of dreams, it lets me hear what I want, taste what I want,
Let me do anything I want, I am the ruler of all I survey,
An actor in center stage, a butterfly who is dreaming to be a man,

But it doesn't last, the king abdicates, the actor bows to the crowd,
And instead the sleeper's sleep ceases, and I must start to take flight

I awake from the womb, transformed,
Creeky eyes open, a baby is born

Yeah the title is good. Any way I can put the main post at the top of the page?

I thought all these new posts were about my poems. Nice to know people are commenting.

    Anyway onto my content.

    Heart

    Fire, fire burning bright
Be the kindling of my light,

I am like the sun, up there
Sitting, waiting, for all to bare,

The world is dim at the time of midnight,
Yet it is when there is closely of sight,

For your fire burns brighter in darkness,
    Humans, be Hyperion, no less,

Tomorrow's dawn is a new day,
In the summer ways of mid May
