    After checking the wiring for the 3rd time, I have no idea why my Desktop refuses to turn on. There go the playlists I spent the past 4 months putting together....

    My day = messed up.

    If you're just worried about your files, just take the hard drive out and stick it in a different computer. Transfer files, done.

    Outlet could be bad too. Have you plugged in anything else there?

    Aside from that there could be a number of issues. Best to take it into a shop or just buy a new one if you are not sure.
