Damn...this is crazy.I am never giving up my organs unless it's a normal transplant to someone I care about.Plain and simple.

I don't know if this is true for a fact because there is not enough evidence or information to say if it was or wasn't. But hospitals must always be careful when dealing with patients, not just organs donors. Thry are extreamly liable for anything that goes on and family members are becoming increasingly less tolerant of medical malpractice and going straight to court about it. Unless there is clear evidence that the hospital wasn't providing prose care for this boy I can't really comment otherwise. If this turns out to be true, then this is rather unfortunate. But then again, stories are very bias in the news so we might not know for sure.

That reminds me of something my dad said to me one time. He said that he was nervous about putting "donor" on his license because he heard that sometimes they let you die just to take your organs.

Either way, this is really freaky. But it happens. :/ I mean, if someone really needs it...A lot of thoughts go through people's mind. It's still..."wrong" if this is true (or not, I guess) to me. Though I think understand the other side of it as well...

It goes against any and all doctors Hippocratic oaths to let someone die willingly. They would not do such a thing. The only reason they are in a hurry is because organs don't stay viable for very long.

Waiting lists for transplants are frustratingly long and many people die before they get the replacement organs that they need. Who are they to decide who lives and who dies? Their son was dead, the best he could do for anyone in that state is to give someone else live. Who could possibly have any objection to that? It is the most amazing gift anyone could give.

As for the administrative error in recording the time of brain death, it has caused all of this chaos and a lot of heartache I'm sure =/

But again, having this appear just within the time limit is extremely suspicious. They were probably waiting for peoples memories to fuzz over and hoping for documents to be lost.

It sounds very creepy. I doubt many doctors would actually do such a thing, at least I hope not....really though, I still want to be labeled as an organ donor when I die. I want to have the piece of mind that even if/ when I die I can still be of some use to someone.

i don't want to be an organ donor when i die.... but i would rather be cremated or sell my body to science to help with the pursuit of knowledge and science...
