Most likely. I've never heard of any plant species that produces such a thing, and after a few minutes searching I'm firmly convinced that one doesn't exist.

The closest thing Earth has is the starfruit, which is actually citrus, not pulpy like paopu is proposed to be.


Mind you it isn't really in the shape of a star. That's simply an angle that suggests it.

I figured a paopu fruit to be juicy with an applesauce textured inside.

Mind you, it looks like a star shape. I hate angles.

That's just a starfruit/passion fruit. W/e you want to call it. It only looks like a fruit when it's sliced like a hamburger.

 

Meh... star fruit is the real world version of paopu fruit :P

Although at the time it was cut... it did look like one. leaves and everything.

I'd say they taste more like melon/pineapple though....not as much mango.

Me and My friends... we dont REALLY believe the silly little tale of the paopu, but we like to think we do, just because we're corny like that.

We've had some hard times, and me and my friends are very close... so when I had to move, we all ate the Paopu on the last day and it twas good<333

So yeah... good memories with corny video game tales
