Ouran High School Host Club

Haruhi watched Hikaru stalk off after yelling at her. She tilted her head to the side, not so much in confusion as to almost get another perspective on the boy. He seemed to want too many different things and Haruhi couldn't keep up. But she couldn't blame him either, which made the whole situation more complicated. She left the room and walked into Kaoru's room as while he tried defending his brother. "It's alright Kaoru," she assured him, standing next to his bed. "Hikaru is just being..." she didn't know whether to finish her sentence with 'afraid', 'himself', or some other descriptor; so she shrugged it off. "He'll be alright." she finished instead. "How are you? Do you need anything?"

 

Kaoru looked lost without his twin as if he didn't know how to help him for the very first time. It scared him which was the reaction of him squeezing his blanket cover in his hands. "I need my brother. You're probably thinking that I'm being a baby, but you don't understand what it's like to be with someone almost twenty four seven and now not being able to understand what he is going through. In a way I do, but now I feel like such a stranger and it scares me. I have to go to him no matter what kind of pain I'm in," he said through his teeth as he attempted to pull himself out of bed.

Hikaru took care of what he had to do and struck his fist on the stall door in anger and frustration thus kicking it open. He was more mad at himself for acting so hostile towards her and couldn't bare show his face to anyone. His stomach still hurt, his throat was parched and his eyes had remained sore around the edges from his inner turmoil. "How can I go out there when I acted like such an ass?" Placing his hands under the cool water, he wet his face to calm and compose himself.

 

Tamaki stood next to Kaoru's bed and put a firm but gentle hand on Kaoru's shoulder. "You're staying here. You're going to push yourself too hard, Kaoru, and then what will your adoring guests do? Your brother is not the only one who needs you. All of us here, and Mori-senpai and Honey-senpai, want you to get well quickly. At this rate, I won't have to bother keeping an eye on you in America when I come along with you all." He smiled a smile that was both cunning and caring. And then, suddenly striking one of his kingly poses he shouted, "I will protect Haruhi from the clutches of you nasty twins! It's my duty as her father!!"

 

Haruhi smiled warmly at Tamaki for finally saying something that completely helped the situation. "I'll go get Hikaru. If you need him then he should be here." she told Kaoru, turning her smile to him. Only when her back was turned the smile faded. Although she was trying to be understanding to the twins and esspically Hikaru, it was straining at her and standing outside a bathroom convincing him to come out was not going to be fun. Then again, if Kaoru needs him he'll probably sprint out. she thought to herself, honestly. She stood outside the male bathroom and knocked sharply. "Hikaru?"

Hunny sat at a table back at school trying to entertain their daily guests with Mori. He'd been jumpy ever since hearing about Kaoru and was obviously distracted.

 

can i have Honey??(im sorry Princess_of_hearts) i think that it would be good for me to have a part in a RP sense its the summer && i have nothing to do. "See you soon!"

That day Kaoru saw a sudden change in Tamaki that he had not seen before except the first time his brother and him joined. The king of the host club was sincere and beaming his kindness. This warm gesture revealed how caring the second year was and even though he displayed acts of being a complete dunce, behind it all was loyalty and a heart of gold. Smiling back and shaking his head in a slow motion, Kaoru was pleased that Tamaki had agreed to come with them to America and hopefully Kyoya and the others would follow suit. The twins' plan had worked for the most part, except for one of them getting hurt; however, if that was the risk they had to take then they would gladly do it all over again. Kaoru observed Haruhi leave the room that caused him to cast his eyes back at the boss. "I just hope my brother is going to be okay. He's been acting strange so lately and I don't think it's just from what happened to me. I guess you can say I left out some other parts after I got hurt that involved Hikaru and Haruhi."

On the marble counter top, the oldest of the twins was leaning against a mirror, his head tilted upwards with his eyes closed. He was tired to say the least, but at least no one could disturb him. Suddenly his eyes shot open at the moment he heard his name being called from the outside. No, could it be the one whom he acted like a child in front of? What could she possibly want? Well he couldn't stay in the restroom forever for it wasn't one of the best places to hang out in. "Hold on." Slowly getting off the counter, he reached for the handle and turned it, stepping out and past her. With his ego on the line, he held his head up high as if nothing was wrong and turned around to face her before entering the room his brother was in. "What do you want now? Have you come to yell at me or lecture me some more? Or do you wish to slap me this time? I guess I deserve it, but it's your call. Regardless what you do, you'll still be working for me. I'll see to that." Hikaru appeared not amused having a strong feeling she could call his bluff and slap him, but he would make sure that the minute Kaoru was released and able to come home, she would be staying with them regardless what his parents or Tamaki thought. Feeling more comfortable around her and more like his arrogant self, he brushed his hand across her right cheek softly. "After all it's part of the deal we made and you already committed to it. Now all I have to do is convince my parents and that shouldn't be a problem. Perhaps you would like to tell my mother first?" With the same hand, he drug it down the side of her face and rested it on her shoulder before pulling it back to his side.

 

Haruhi stiffened slighty at Hikaru's touch. She didn't particularly mind people touching her (obviously she delt with Tamaki's glomping on a daily basis) but Hikaru always seemed to have some cold underlying message in his fingertips and it made her shiver. "Kaoru needs you." she stated simply. "I'm just getting you so he won't try and stand up again. But I don't mind speaking to your mother too, if you'd like. If you want some time alone with Kaoru we can get Tamaki out of the room and I'll go find your mother." she smiled at him, but there was no light in her smile: it was all buisness.

 

Kaoru played with his fingers, tapping them against each other to hear what reaction Tamaki would come forth with. He guessed it would be utter shock or down right lunacy. "Like I said Hikaru and Haruhi have a part to play into the events that led up today boss. Wouldn't you like to know?" Kaoru's response was so raw, it was as if he was opening up an old wound and pouring salt and lemon juice all over it.

Hikaru noticed that she was feeling uncomfortable with his touch which was exactly what he had planned. Her will power was strong not to smack him and he admired that through all the pressure he was imposing on her she had not cracked like a egg yet. It was another reason why he had come to be so fond of her. "It's fine that the boss stays. I've been wanting to talk to him anyway. Before you speak to my mother however I will be present. After all I have to know what you say to her and make sure you don't do something underhanded that would make me lose all trust in you," his golden eyes pierced her chocolate ones for a second revealing how troublesome and dangerous he could be. That cold, dead stare disappeared and was replaced with a subtle, interested and affectionate, yet twisted gleam instead. "So you see, you're stuck with me you like it or not. I find it a suitable consequence for all the pain that you caused me today; both physical and emotional."

 

Haruhi sighed softly and crossed her arms, keeping eye contact with Hikaru. "As if I'd do anything underhanded." she repsponded tiredly. "Really you should know I would never. But if you want to be there when I talk to her, that's understandable. Obviously I'm not trustworthy to you." her eyes seemed to glint with disapointment, but it was gone so fast it was possible to brush it off as an illuision. "I'm going back to Kaoru's room now. He needs you, so will you come along too?" Knowing he would follow, Haruhi walked past him to Kaoru's room, opening the door quietly in case Kaoru had managed to fall asleep while she was gone. Seeing that he hadn't she smiled at him and held the door open for Hikaru.

 

Hikaru followed and was the first one to come into the room. Before he went to his brother's bedside, his eyes glanced in her direction. "One can never know unless one is tested. Never trust what anyone says that's your lesson for today," with those words out in the open, his shoulder brushed past hers as he made his way next to Kaoru. "So how are you doing?"

Kaoru nodded his head and covered his hand over his mouth to hide his yawn. "Oh I'm all right I guess. I would like to get out of here as soon as possible, but that's not for me to decide now is it?" He noticed his twin seemed to be in a better mood. "Care to explain why you ran out like that earlier?"

The eldest of the twins, rolled his eyes for he wanted to avoid the subject at all costs. "I wasn't feeling well, but I'm fine now. Haruhi has agreed to our plan and all we have to do is speak to mother and father if he gets here that is."

"Yeah I see your point. Well I have some good news. While you were in the restroom, I was able to convince at least the boss to come to America with us." Kaoru flashed a smile so deceitful, it was like looking at the devil's cousin himself.

 

"It will be a Host Club vacation!" Tamaki declared. He wanted the whole club to be there to enjoy America. He wasn't sure about the idea of bringing guests along with them. It would cost more money, but at the same time, it would be benificial to the club. There was so much to think about and plan. But first and foremost: "I must have a churro! Hikaru, Kaoru, you've heard of them, right? They're like an American delicacy! I have to find out what's so special about them!"

 

Haruhi smiled just alittle at Tamaki's comment. She wanted to point out that a churro was actually from Mexico, but he looked so pleased with himself she just smiled and nodded her agreement. "That sounds fun Tamaki."

 

(OOC: Been busy with other things to respond so that's the reason for the slow response.)

Both of the twins starred at Tamaki as if he had an abnormal feature about him. On the other hand he did agree to accompany them on the trip. The only thing left to do was to convince their mother and father, not to mention discuss with mainly their mother about the arrangements for Haruhi staying with them. She would be quite shocked to say the least, for the twins could read their mother like an open book. "Whatever you say boss," they replied at the same time before turning to Haruhi. "Hey Haruhi are we going to talk to our mother now or are you waiting for an open invitation?" Hikaru and Kaoru both smirked. "She's right over there." In unison their fingers reached out pointing to her and glanced their honey colored orbs in her direction. "You're not afraid are you?"

 

Haruhi closed her eyes for a slow moment, keeping her thoughts from showing on her face. "I'm ready whenever you two are. I'll go get her. Do you want Tamaki to be here while we all talk?" she asked sweetly, opening the door to retreive the twin's mother. She left the twins to get rid of Tamaki or leave him in the room.

Yuzuha had finished leaving a message for her husband and headed back to her son's room. She paused outside the room to regain her thoughts. Just then the door opened and Haruhi walked out, bowing slightly to the mother.

"Hello." Haruhi was startled to see Yuzuha meant to enter anyways, but was glad she didn't have to explain things alone. She held the door open for yuzuha, who walked through with a small smile for Haruhi. Immediatly yuzuha's eyes fell on her sons and her smile brightened for them.

 

Hikaru had managed to get his brother Kaoru out of the bed so he would feel more human. Knowing his brother was strong enough to stand on his own, he glanced at him and smiled a concealed sincere grin that on the surfaced appeared to be coniving. "It doesn't matter to us."

Kaoru returned the favor of the same grin not caring what Haruhi or the others thought. "Have the boss listen to what we have to say.

They both clasped hands as if competing for attention but it was of a playful sort of manner. Noticing their mother they both starred at her in silence until speaking again once more. "Go ahead Haruhi tell our mother what needs to be addressed."

 

Yuzuha's smile faltered alittle at the twin's words. She knew that look and tone, something she would not like was happening. Her gaze fell on Haruhi, not quite disapproving or piting, as she wasn't sure which was appropriate.

Haruhi sighed, having guessed it would fall on her to explain things. "The twins have kindly offered that I stay at your house with them to pay off the debt I've brought upon myself by letting Kaoru get hurt. As I obvious," she glanced at the twins, wondering if they'd like this at all as she was trying to put them in a good light. "cannot pay for any of the hospital bills, I'm hoping that you will approve of their idea. It would help my father and I a lot to use this method of repayment instead of... paying what we can't afford."

Yuzuha closed her eyes and let out a deep breath. As she guessed, she didn't like this one bit. Haruhi didn't sound happy either, her tone expressed a mixture of sincerity and aggrivation. Yuzuha opened her eyes and looked at her sons. "That is very... kind of you two to offer." she said, treding carefully with her words. "But have you spoken to Haruhi's father? I beleive that is the next step here. I... would like to think of a better way of going about this but if he approves and you three can set up a time frame and you all think it is a fair trade, I don't see a problem." She pulled a near by chair behind her and sat down, needing to rest.

 

(OOC: Sorry everyone. Water mage hasn't been fairing to well and so that's why she hasn't been on. She's dealing with some serious issues effecting her health.:nono:)

Kaoru could tell that Haruhi was not thrilled with the idea, but what choice did she have? No matter what she was in their debt, but the least Kaoru could do was try to reassure her so it didn't sound like she was being forced against her will. "Haruhi, there are still some issues we need to discuss and it would be better if you kept them to yourself. That means not telling anyone." His eyes signaled to Hikaru silently telling her through his body language.

Hikaru pulled out his cell phone prepared to dial a number. "I don't see why that's a huge problem at all. Of course he'll agree unless he wants a steeping hospital bill that will cost him everything that he has. Don't mean to sound so blunt, but that's the obvious fact and Haruhi knows it." His eyes turned to her to see her expression. "So what's the number or do I have to locate it myself which will obviously be a waste of time for everyone here?"

 

OOC: aw, i hope she's better soon. that's terrible :(

BIC: Haruhi tensed up at Hikaru's cold words. She didn't understand why he had to be so cruel in his statements. She was playing along, doing what they said, why couldn't he at least be civil? Something inside her cursed him for being a rich spoiled boy who didn't understand what 'cost him everything he has' really meant to someone who didn't have alot. But she shook that part of her off and took the phone from Hikaru, "I'll call his work, he doesn't have a cell phone and won't be home until quite late." she expained neurtrally. She turned alittle from the group, a worried expression taking place over the aggrivated one.


Yuzuha flashed Hikaru a warning look. She wasn't happy with this plan either and didn't want him thinking for a moment she was doing more than agreeing it was 'accceptable'. But she'd discuss that with her son's later, for now she kept quiet and let Haruhi contact her father.

Haruhi waited two rings until someone picked up and, in the usual bubbly way, greeted her with the name of her father's work place and bar. "Hi, it's me, Haruhi. Is my dad there?"
"Oh haruhi! Yes your daddy's right here! Hold ooon." a sing song, high pitched, male voice answered her. For a moment there was only a soft music in the background and people's muted laughter; then her father picked up, asking immediatly if something was wrong and was she alright and does she need daddy to pick her up. You and Tamaki have way too much in common.
"Dad, dad, i'm fine! no, it's okay, listen. Somethings aren't going well at school with my friends. No, listen. I'm fine, but I've done something alittle stupid. Hikaru wants to talk to you." she explained between his outbursts of worry. She handed the phone back to hikaru, her expression showing the worry she wouldn't admit to anyone about her father.
