    Which is also fundamentally flawed because to many, these reviews determine if a game is worth buying or not. Low risk is the key to a good investment. So "play it before you judge it" doesn't always work.

    You could. But if you don't enjoy it you'd be literally wasting time something you didn't like when you could of used your time on something else you do like.

    yup and if you rented every game you were mildly interested in, it would easily pile up to be enough to buy a game.

    Yeah there are those redbox machines that let you rent games. But at 3-4 dollars a day, it's not even close to worth it as an investment if the person plays a lot of games

    Reviews are important, even if a lot of people suck at doing them.

    The best way to utilize them is to find people who can articulate their points well enough and whose general opinions on the medium you can understand or simply agree with.

    Scores I feel exist as simply a way for a person to say "If I had money to only get one of these games, it'd be the one with the highest number." Because we can't buy or rent everything.

    It's important to have diverse opinions on things or else we'd never learn how to constructively criticize stuff in good or bad games.
