How am I wrong?
Humanity, it never changes no matter how the world changes around it. And if the probverb where true, then why has so much changed, why is there nothing I know that I can hold onto anymore? So much has changed for me and nothing stayed the same. Humans are selfish, to the point of which they will never change enough. Humanity itself is a huge blob of never changing selfishness. Therefore the proverb is wrong, unless applied to humanity.
