Nope. Kira is an actual name. In Death Note, 'Kira' is simply called that because
1: play off the ENGLISH word, 'Killer'
2: R and L in Japanese is pretty much said in the same manor, there really is not district R or L sound. Therefore 'killer' sounds like Kira

Yes. I know that that is how they pronounce "killer". I was assuming that the word may not exist in japanese (ie. television). My mistake. But do you know how to pronounce this/this spell in romaji??? キラー

if the kanji is not right, blame google translate, not me

That's not Kanji, it's spelt in kanas

I think the first is katakana for Ki, and the other one is in Hiragana, it's U
So it would be Kiu, pronounced (I think) like Key-oo

But that makes no sence because you can't have both Katakana and Hiragana letters in one thing. :/

I said to blame google translate. BTW , I know that there is romaji (japanese w/ english letters), kanji, katakana, and a few others. Any major differences?

Romanji - Japanese, but using the English alphabet to write

Kanji - Sound AND meaning, there are countless different Kanji characters. Can be used for names

Note that with most manga/games the text (unless it is an adult manga/game) that has Kanji will break it down into Hiragana. That hiragana is shown above the kanji character. The text is otherwise the same.

Katakana - a small alphabet, the characters only have Sounds, with no meaning. Katakana is used for names and anything that is a non-Japanese word

Hiragana - I think is smaller than the Katakana alphabet, used for traditional Japanese words, only consists of Sounds.

"Most impressive." Thanx a lot. Some of my friends are thinking of creating a japanese-club at school. Surely if they can allow a travel-club (which didn't do anything), they can allow this.

If you're making a club, you may want to make sure you get someone who's got some experience.

Oh yes, you said you would like to learn Japanese right? I guess you missed my proposal earlier, I said I could teach you a little bit. I'm far from fluent of course, but at very least I can teach you some basic things you could actually use, ie./ telling your name, somethign about yourself, some basic things about how to talk about objects, different ways to say hello, how to ask questions, how to ask for or buy things, ect.
You know, the basics to get by in actual life situations.

    1) That will be difficult, considering I'm in the middle of NC surrounded by rednecks all the time. Anime is cartoons to them; they say 'win-dur' when saying 'window!' I HATE IT HERE!!!
    2) that would be nice.

    3) WHO IS THAT GUY ABOVE THE DEVIANTART LINK?! GAHHHHH! *runs* i'll go dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

-__- Harsh... well good luck with it. :/

    Just know
that it will take a fair bit of work on your part, you need to do different exercises to help you become more acquainted with the language, and help remember it better. Also you need to try to keep at it at a steady pace, it's hard to learn something if when learning, you take large breaks inbetween things.
