aww i get off june 13th and then i got exams for a week after that

 

O_o you all get exams AFTER you get out?

We get exams then we have like, a week of doing nothing but extra stuff that's technically learning, but more or a game.

 

I skipped DURING exams.

 

...Aren't they 30% of your final mark or something like that?

And I was exempted, which meant I didn't have to take them.

What, where yours really hard?

 

heh u take school exams...?cause over here i take STATE exams and i have to take them...i cant skip them or i fell and i have to keep on taking them until i pass them

 

yeah mine were pretty hard
i have like 2 exams in advance calsses.....geeze they were hard

Here's how it goes...
If you missed a class 3 times and have an A in there = exempted.
If you missed a class 2 times and have a B in there = exempted.
If you missed a class 1 time and have a C in there = exempted.
If you missed a class 0 times and have a D in there = exempted.

We only do that for 2nd and 4th nine week exams ._.

 

...State exams...the concept sounds kinda stupid to me, why do you take them anyway?

 

Exams? NO EXAMS FOR ME IN AMERICA! ^_^

 

But still, the point of an exam is to make sure you remember and understand the concepts that have been taught thought the year, I don't think they should let people skip it, even with good grades and very few times being sick.

 

Its required by the state for every1 in NEW YORK to take these exams

 

Huh? Why is that?

 

Tell that to the school board.
The ones I take are totally easy.

But I have to take the High School Grad Exam this year, you have to pass all parts or you won't graduate.

 

that must suck...

 

But schools have different teaching systems, would it not be better for the teachers to make the exam just for their classes that they themselves teach? Even if the same material is being taught, it just doesn't seem quite like a good idea. You still haven't answered me though, why are state exams held, what are they for?

 

Well.. for one thing is.. we have CBA's TAXS and uhhhhh only 1 exam at end of ur school years! x.x it still sucks! but during summer vacation <3 we go to water parks and go on vacation to many other of our states!
