Namine listened as she heard footsteps down the hallway and was a bit surprised when they stopped and she heard a familiar voice. Axel...? she thought and got up, walking over to the door. She opened it and was about to say something, but then she noticed Shigiku in his arms... obviously in pain. Her eyes widened at a realization of why he was there. Oh no... she thought. "Axel... what happened?!" she asked, hoping that it didn't have anything to do with her memory... as she still had not figured out how to help her yet.

Shigiku closed her eyes, gripping her head tightly with her hands. The pain wouldn't go away... no matter what she did. The only thing she hadn't tried was something she had seen a long time ago... Her parents were watching a show a long time ago... and she had seen a guy try to cancel out the pain with another pain... and that had definitely not been a show for someone her age... and even though she thought it could work... she was to scared to try it... EVER.

 

"I don't know! She just started to have pain in her head all of a sudden!" Axel exclaimed to her in a frenzied fashion, his brow glistening in sweat and his cheeks with a reddish hue due to the work out, as he handed the girl over to the blonde carefully but quickly, making sure to keep hold of her toys. He needed Naminé to do something fast, and he simple eyed her worried as he went in, shutting the door behind him with his foot. "Forget what happen, just do something!"

He wanted to add she better not die, but couldn't find the words to speak anymore as he stared at Shigiku, wondering if she's going to be fine.

 

Exel pressed his ear to the floor on the roof to hear the conversation inside Namine's room.

 

"Alright! Alright!" she said as she took Shigiku carefully, now a bit panicked herself. But she remained reasonablly calm as she carried the small girl over and layed her gently on her bed. "Just calm down, Axel... the worst thing to do is panic right now..." she said, placing her hand gently over Shigiku's forhead.

When Namine placed her hand on her forehead, she closed her eyes as her head started to feel a little funny. A second later she was fast asleep.

Good... now I can see what's wrong... Namine thought and closed her eyes, her hand still over the small girl's forehead. After a few minutes, she opened her eyes, a look of shock washing over her face as she looked down at the girl, a bit worridley. She thought for a moment, going over to the book she had been reading and flipped to the previous pages, rereading the page. I see... she thought and went back over to Shigiku. She wanted to say to Axel that Shigiku would be just fine... but she didn't know if that was really true or not.

Silently, she placed her hand back on the girl's forehead and closed her eyes once more.

 

Axel walked to the bed, sitting on the edge as he always did, because he was completely useless on the matter otherwise. Clasping his hands together on his lap, after putting May and the bunny on the mattress, he waited patiently, a bit more relaxed since Naminé was here and they were working on it, yet, it didn't stop the fear gripping at him from the beginning. His eyes drooping as he looked down on the floor, not wanting to look at the girls or see reactions, he tried not to think of horrible possibilities. It was a good thing he didn't have a heart, or these..."emotions" will be doubled.

He only heard Naminé and pages of a book, but nothing else.

 

Namine opened her eyes and looked at Axel. She saw that he seemed pretty upset over the whole thing... so she decided it would be best not to tell him what was wrong unless she absolutely had to... She closed her eyes once more and concentrated hard. Her memories seem to be somewhat... cracked... she thought. It's actually a little worse then I thought... She once again opened her eyes to look at Axel. "Had she been having any problem... remembering things...?" Namine asked him.

 

She had stalked Axel when he practically ran like the wind for Namine's room.

Heh.......he certainly cares for her.....even if he denies it......

 

"No...she actually remembered more, a little...she can even do magic..." Axel replied quietly, still not looking behind, and in the same position, not knowing where this was exactly going with the question. Why did it always happen when things were peaceful and going fine? Now he felt sick, and his gut was wrenching, and he just wanted to know if she'll be alright or not, he was agitated and anxious, more concerned, not doing anything because he couldn't.

After a moment of silence, he asked, staring at the wall in front of him, "Is she going to be okay?"

 

She knocked on the door to see if she could come in.

 

Namine was actually a bit surprised when he said that she could use magic. Where did she learn to do that...? Namine thought and closed her eyes again, concentrating. She was actually hoping that Axel wouldn't ask that question. She sighed. "I don't know..." she said. She examined the memories... seeing that they were badly cracked... what would happen if they fell apart? She didn't even want to think of the possibilities... so she did her best to try and fix them without breaking them more. If they collapsed... it'd probably be over for Shigiku...

She took a deep breath and slowly started to sink energy into Shigiku's head, hoping that she could use it to repair the broken memories. She pulled the memories together and tried to hold them together with her own energy... a trick she had learned from reading the book... but had not yet practiced. She made sure that she worked slowly... so that she did not break the memories even more. No wonder she was in pain... the memories had been placed too close together before... and that ended up in them almost breaking... thank goodness he had brought Shigiku to her immideately... or else it could've been much worse... but there was still one more thing...

Slowly, making progress, she managed to put the memories together again, but there was still one more problem. She opened her eyes and stared down at Shigiku, unsure of what she should do next. Should she leave the problem as it was...? Or try and fix it...?

Namine jumped when she heard a knock on the door and removed her hand from Shigiku's head. "Come in..." Namine said, knowing the door was unlocked anyway so what did it really matter?

OOC- I made all of this up because I have no idea how she would do it... XP XP

 

Exel sounded surprised as he heard what Shigiku can do. THat is rare to find especially on a boat trip.

 

She opened the door and stepped in closing it back behind her.

 

Axel sighed at her answer, which was the same one everytime, and it didn't make him feel much better about what was happening. This has to stop, permanently, but there wasn't a way, or else....could it be dangerous? He was a bit startled to hear the knock on the door, stopping his moping. Hearing Naminé give permissiong, when he saw the person who came in, he frowned right off, narrowing his eyes at the female. What the hell was she doing here?

Tensing up, he just kept his sharp eye on her, wondering what she wanted. If it was Angel, it would've been different, but it wasn't her.

She didn't say anything but met Axel's glare with a smile.

......heh......still on the defensive......wonder what she ever saw in him.....

She walked across the room to an isolated wall and sat down against it.

 

Exel heard someone else come in and then sighed. More? THis is getting harder. He thought.

Namine looked at her. "Do you need something...?" Namine asked, not very pleased with having been interrupted... especially if it was for no reason at all. "If not then I'm going to have to ask you to leave... we're in the middle of something right now..." Even though Namine thought that she was done for now... and there was nothing else she could do to help at the moment... I did the best I could... i just hope Axel's not too upset... Namine thought.

 

I was wondering whether or not Shigiku was okay......but if you want me to leave just for worrying about someone....very well.....

She got up again and walked to the door opening it and closing it after her.

 

"Please, why the hell will she be worried about someone..." Axel muttered to himself, smirking satisfactorily as he watched her leave. Just from her actions, he now was perfectly aware that it wasn't Angel, but Xengla. She just probably wanted to butt in, and Naminé better not bring her back. Getting up from the bed as the girl was gone, he walked to the side where Naminé was, and where Shigiku laid, finally, as he had noticed the blonde seemed to be done at the time Xengla came, and the little girl was still breathing. Glancing at her, he simply asked, "Anything I should know?"

 

Namine shook her head as Xengla walked out of the room. She looked up at Axel when he said that. "Actually... yes..." she said and stood up, taking a deep breath. "I have good news... and bad news..." she started. "The good news is that Shigiku will live... and she'll be perfectly fine... well... almost perfect..." she looked at the ground. "That's the bad news... What happened is that I put her memories too close together when I tried to help her memory loss... and they ended up bumping each other... causing them to crack. If you hadn't brought her to me when you did... the memories would've shattered and she would've died... I managed to repair the broken memories... but I had to pull them away from each other in case that happened again... so... she will be just like she was when I found her... she will still have her memory loss... and she probably won't remember you when she wakes up... but I am still able to fix that temporarily..." She finished speaking and looked up at Axel, waiting to see what he had to say about the matter.

 

Axel felt something stab at him when she said Shigku wouldn't remember him, especially after all that they went through, so now he had to start back from scratch? Right also when he had explained the truth to her as well? He was happy that she was going to live and be fine, but...how would he act now? As much as he loved the kid, if this was going to keep happening, why get closer to her, only for her to lose that memory and another part of him that he gave her with it?

Swallowing hard, soothing his hurt, he just muttered, "Oh..." He stood quietly, watching Shigiku intensely, before saying in a breath, "You said temporarily, right? What does that mean? And why can't you try to place her memories right, build them up like putting a puzzle together? They shouldn't bump...if you can place them perfectly enough, and make it 'whole', chain them back...so to speak..."
