Orbs of Life

His flare attack along with Vegeta letting loose a barrage of energy shots towards Recoome at first seemed like it had done some damage, but in typical anime fashion when all the smoke from their attacks had faded, there was barely a single scratch on him. There wasn't even enough time to be surprised by this for Recoome had launched his energy attacks at the duo. Vegeta, who was more used to flying, easily dodged the barrage while Renju on the other hand dodge what he could and guarded the rest. The barraged had ended and it was a chance for them to return fire. Renju did so with another flare attack while Vegeta appeared to be charging up a purple beam of energy. "Galick Gun!" Was the name of the attack that was fired towards Recoome.

As Hunter had yet again forgotten the colour value for this specific world, he landed a few solid strikes with his Krillin Blade on Jeice. However, his opponent was so powerful that he hadn't reacted at all. Perhaps he had simply stopped being controlled, perhaps the roleplay creator had gotten lazy, or maybe..just maybe, this was some incredibly smart plan of his to catch them off guard.

"Bald man, we will not win this way" he stated. He flew up high into the sky and looked around to see where Galia and Renju were. Both of them were, conveniently enough, located within the vicinity that his voice would reach, so he could probably yell and they would hear. "We need to defeat these people quickly to go and grab the dragon's balls! His children are on the line, and it will be us who will be held responsible for being defeated. Wait, did I say us? I meant you. You will be responsible! Let us group up as my entourage and destroy these people. Why fight 2 on 1 when we can fight 6 on 3? The odds are far better for us grouped up!" Hunter boomed, failing math as he made his announcement.

Zephine had listened to the people, happy to see that her playing dumb had worked after all. Though, apparently these two were in charge of guarding the orbs of this world, so she thought they could just sort of ease up on the playing dumb thing. As they continued following the people, they eventually were taught...how to fly! Wait...what? Zephine was tapping her foot on the ground as she thought about to fly in the air. Thinking long and hard about this, as her foot kept tapping against the solid air beneath her, she was wondering how she could possibly fly. Wait a second. She was flying!

"Whoa, this is awesome!" She gave a thumbs to the rest of the group and then with a large grin on her face she looked back towards the two green people and said, "don't worry, I'll go get those orbs in the weird tudra place. Later!" With that, she bent down taking a sprinters stance, on thin air, and kicked off the air speeding towards the icy plane.

Vegeta's Galick gun had actually damaged Recoome's armor suit thing to a noticeable amount. Chunks had fallen off and some places were cracked. Geez that attack sure was powerful. Remind him not to be on the other end of it. They might actually have a better chance of ending this fight soon at this rate.

That was about when Hunter had yelled his suggestion that they all group up and fight. While Galia choose to go up to his and answer, Renju simply yelled back. "I'm fine over here!" He didn't trust what these guys might be able to do if they were in a group. That weird pose of there's couldn't be the one thing that they have team related. If the answer to that was no, then Renju didn't want to find out.

While he'd did that, Vegeta was actually going in up close and personal with Recoome and had the red haired human(?) on defensive for the most part. Upon moving back from his beat down, he transition to a barrage of ki blast at which point Renju fired a third flare attack. Man he wished that he had the confidence to use his sword in this fight.

Star was amazed with how easy flying really was. How was it nobody found a way in her universe to do such a thing? Regardless, it seemed the other girl was heading towards the tundra. Star decided to head for the cave. Apparently it was just a single cave in the world or else they would have specified. Well, she looked and saw a sign pointing towards it. "That's simple." She said to herself.

She landed in front of the cave and found that it was a bit eerie and unpleasant. Nothing could be done about that. Nobody else lived on this planet except for three people so there shouldn't be any fear to have. Star moved her way into the cave hoping that everyone else was having this much luck.

 

It was quite hard to believe he had suddenly gained the power of flight but actually trying and levitating a bit from the ground gave the young man quite the surprise. "what..the?" Alkes could only say as he looked down at the ground and then over at Zephine and Star. He proceeded to look over at the two weird residence of this world and still couldnt shake the feeling of this being a trap, but the two ladies seemed willing to go find the orbs and Alkes could only decide to go seek them out himself.

Flying felt actually quite natural. He was used to preforming inhuman feats, but flying was totally different. With Star heading to the cave and Zephine heading to the tundra there was only one place left for Alkes to go. "well...this sucks..."Alkes muttered before staring down at the lake he was hovering over. He reay did not want to get soaked, but he really had no choice in the matter. Taking a deep breath Alkes dashed into the lake with great speed.

 

Zephine had continued to fly around in the world, looking too and fro for whatever the orb thingy majigger was that she was to be finding. It would apparently be easily recognizable by the stars on it...which made Zephine stop and think for a bit. Her own orb didn't have a star on it. It was just a regular old orb that just happened to transform into a scythe. So what if these orbs weren't actually the ones they were meant to be protecting? Ah well, no real use thinking about it now, there were orbs to find.

As she continued to fly around the area, she eventually saw that there was a lot of frozen area around here. Not really that much to work with given everyone else had specific clues and she was stuck with...it being in ice. If that even. Still, she continued to float about and looked around examining everything she could. It wasn't until she noticed something weird in one of the icy parts of the tundra that she floated down to take a closer look at it. It seemed to be a spherical object just sort of encased in the ice, so Zephine just sort of thought of the best way to get it out.

Summoning her scythe to her side, she started picking at the block, realizing that it was taking a tad bit in order to break it out. Man, there had to be some sort of method that she could be using to get it out faster. If only she had some sort of fire on her- whoops. Zephine, facepalming a bit at the realization, sent out a flare spell at the ice block and defrosted the orb. Looking at it, it seemed to be a bit different from her own, but it indeed have a star on it in addition to being bright orange. Taking this as a sign of success, Zephine decided to bolt back towards the others and share with them her find.

 

Star walked through the cave, the water dripping from the ceiling and the strange creatures that inhabited it. Deeper within the cave, the walls began to be covered in blood. For a 13 year old girl, this was really getting more and more creepy at every moment. She finally came to find a casket surrounded by white cloth. It was the end of the cave so the orb had to be within the vicinity.

The girl opened up the coffin to find a nothing but a skeleton. However, their was an orange ball with stars laying in its skull. Star gave a shriek as soon as she saw it. She closed her eyes and looked away, reaching into the skull and grabbing the orb. "I hope the other's had a better time than this."

Once the orb was retrieved, she raced out of the creepy cave, gave flight, and went towards the castle to where they would all rendezvous.

 

Holding in his breath for quite the long time was something that Alkes really had no trouble doing, but still his body would need air at some point. Swimming through the vast lake he began to look around, attempting to find this so called orb that they were looking for. He couldn't believe that this was the orb that he and the others were looking for. The idea that this was a trick was just to strong and after the great trouble they went to get the orb in the previous world it was just far too convenient for them.

Seeking around for the orb t practically seemed like there was nothing in this lake. Beginning to feel like he was duped, Alkes raised an eyebrow upon noticing a rather large bolder. Recalling what the two men said, he brought out his orb and instantly allowed it to coat his arms. With a powerful strike, Alkes sent his fist at the bolder and shattered, revealing the strange starred orb. Quickly grabbing it, Alkes flew out and breathed in a breath of fresh air. With orb in hand, Alkes returned back to meet with his companions. And so Alkes walked forward towards the other two girls, his steps squeaking due to the wet clothing, his cloathing dripping, and his long wet hair covering his entire face. "A-ah!....glad to see you two are peachy" Alkes said with a slight chuckle holding up his orb shivering a bit from being wet.

 

Star looked at Alkes and began to laugh hysterically at his appearance. "You get a little wet? hahaha!" Regardless of that fact, she noticed her had the orb. Unlike hers, it had 3 stars. Zephine's had 1 star and Star had 2 stars. "Looks like we succeeded anyway." She looked over to the 2 green men. "So now what?"

"Well, now that you found those three, the next one's are a tad more difficult. This is why we chose the easy ones first."

"The next three will prove a challenge. One is in a tornado, another within a giant's domain, and finally within a pit of acid. You will most likely have to acquire some assistance from one another as well as us."

Star looked back at the others. "Now that explains why it didn't take long. I'm not sure which one to go to first."

"Might I suggest you all head towards the tornado. It is the easiest of all the tasks to complete."

"Well, let's head towards the tornado then." Star said with a sigh.

As Alkes and Star made it back to the area, she held out her orb triumphantly as she waved to the both of them coming back. It seemed that Alkes had gotten a little on the drenched side, and so she said, matter of factly, "and this is why it is always important to pack a towel before going on interplanetary excursions." She then stood there for a moment, pondering on that fact, when a shocked look came across her face as she said, "wait, I didn't pack a towel." In frusturation she tousled her hair as she looked back to Alkes and said, "whoops, sorry about not coming very much so prepared. Maybe if we're lucky we'll fight an enemy with fire again to warm our spirits on!"

It was then that they were presented an option of where to go next to locate their next orb. This one seemed to be guarded by...a tornado. As the group had flown to the tornado, Zephine was somewhat curious as to how the hell they were supposed to get something out of a tornado? It was then that Zephine had eureka moment. "Alright guys, I got it! First, I'll fly over there, and distract the tornado. While it's focused on me, you two just go fwoooossshhhhh, and zip fwop smash right through the tornado using both of your raw fighting spirits and then we can get the orb out of there." This was the only logical solution, save for throwing a bomb at the tornado, and seeing as they were short on bombs, Zephine had flown over to the tornado to begin...distracting it.

 

"har de har har...." Alkes said to the two before him. Star was laughing and Zephine, he really wasn't sure if she was serious. Regardless the very moment he heard that there was more he couldn't help but let out a loud groan. Still wet and drying, Alkes flew along with the others and stopped before staring at Zephine and her ridiculous request.

"Do...tornadoes...even have mind...actually no Im not going to question this at all and confuse my mind if Im proven wrong...not like there are sharks in that tornado..." Alkes said as he shook his head with a sigh. Once Zephine begun to act and the tornado actually followed her, Alkes stared on, his eye twitched at the weird sigh. Composing himself, Alkes stared over Star "Alright then, let do this quick" Alkes said flying up high above the tornado. Reeling back his fist Alkes dashed into the eye of the tornado and thrust his fist forward, sending a force in an attempt to destroy the tornado from the middle. Unfortunately for Alkes his wet hair with a flurry of wind was not the greatest of combinations. Once this was over he would definitely be dry, however his hair will be a total spike mess.

 

They had reached the tornado and Zephine came up with a plan that Star thought only Hunter would be dumb enough to think of. She sighed and played along. Going to the other side of the tornado since Zephine was "distracting"she went up to the tornado and flew within it. She saw how Alkes was distracted by his hair. She couldn't help but chuckle again at him. She grabbed the orb and flew out of the tornado, waving back to Zephine that the ball was acquired.

Moving back to the two green men, Star had the 5 star orb in her hand. That made 4 out of 7 it seemed. "Okay oh wise men, please show us to our next location."

They looked at them with the same expression as always. "Okay. Next you'll have to get to the acidic lake. Luckily for us, it's right there next to the castle." One of them pointed. The bubbles could be seen coming out of it.

Star and company moved over to the lake. "This, doesn't look in the slightest bit safe. How exactly are we going to even get the orb." She peered down and saw that it was right there, staring at them. "So, Alkes, care to go for another dip?" She mocked, still finding it humorous given his situations.

However, things weren't as smooth as they wanted it. The water was boiling up creatures that looked familiar to two of them. They were like the fire Umbra from Edolas, but this time they carried the element of water on them.

"It looks like one of the angels are here. We're going to have to fight these things and find a way to get that orb later." Star summoned her weapon and looked down at the Umbra, reading to fight.

After Zephine's masterful plan of dealing with a tornado was successful, the group had managed to safely retrieve the orb from the clutches of the evil tornado. Having finished that, their next target was indeed the acid lake that looked like it would kill you just for being near it...thankfully that wasn't the case. However, something weird was coming out of the lake, something that Zephine immediately recogonized as the things they had fought back in Edolas. Only more watery and less fiery.

Drawing out her scythe, Zephine kicked off the air and sprung herself forward towards the water umbrae. The demons, being right on top of the lake, weren't exactly expecting a full frontal assault on them, and so Zephine was able to do a quick fly by, decapitating one of them on her scythe, causing it to sink right back down into the lake. With a cocky grin on her face, and twirling her scythe around as if to mock the other umbrae, she was hoping they'd take the bait. And that they did, as two more leaped at her from the lake, to which she simply blasted one back with flare and let out a flurry of slashes on another, eventually grinding it into dust across her blade.

Alkes hated this, he hated it so much and they were not even close to finishing at the moment. It ticked him off so much and now they were standing before a acid lake, causing the purple spikey haired man's eye to twitch "I haaaaaaaate this world" Alkes said before the enemy appeared before him. His eyes closed and a chuckle escaped his lips. Energy formed around his arms and legs and Alkes stared forward with a sheer grin "Great, I have something I can take my frustration upon" Alkes said.

In a instant moment Alkes dashed forward and sent his fist straight though one of the umbra's chest. Pulling out his fist he immediately dashed towards another and roundhouse kicked it head off and proceeded to rapidly punch another until it stopped moving, finishing with a final punch that sent the corpse flying. "Starting to feel better" Alkes muttered as he prepared to finish of more

Zephine had continued on her fighting rampage against the water umbras and was really feeling it when it came to bringing them down. She looked over and saw Alkes going into some sort of balistic anger fueled one as well, but was happy to see that her teammate was beating shit up alongside her. Flying down, she looked at another of the umbra, as it simply as it tried to claw at her, to which she just tauntingly backstepped away from the creature. After doing that, she used her scythe to strike forward at the creature, getting the blade caught in the neck but not quite decapitating it. Nevertheless, she simply pulled her blade and went in for another swipe with her scythe to fully kill it.

She looked towards the next two that seemed to be approaching her, but not really wanting to fight two at once, she threw her scythe forward, so that it lodged itself clean in the skull of one of the umbras, with the other looking a bit stunned at what had just happened. In that moment of confusion, the impaled was hit by a fire ball, blowing up into watery dust, and then Zephine was already next to the third one. Grabbing her falling scythe, she did a quick slash to lop off a limb, followed by a few more for the remaining limbs until the creature was dead. Wanting to be a bit of a helper for her teammate, she screamed out, "hey Alkes, I think this one is just begging to be smashed in." The one in question, was one that Zephine had caught with her scythe, and then hurled towards Alkes.

Star looked at the others who seemed to be enjoying themselves a little too much. Causing death to meaningless creatures in the most impacting way possible? That wasn't a sign for anything, no. Regardless, Star was going to do the same, slicing up two Umbra with her chakram and then punching another.

She realized something from that punch. These things were made out of water but they came out of a pool of acid. That didn't add up in the slightest. Perhaps the two green men were wrong, or crazy, or trying to confuse them in some way. "Guys, I don't think the acid is really acid." She called out.

Zephine was continuing on her killing spree, as one umbra tried to get the jump on her after she lobbed an enemy for Alkes to defeat. Getting bear hugged by the thing, she let out a mighty warrior yell and elbowed the thing in the gut, causing it to be knocked off of her. She then followed this up by striking at it with her scythe, lodging it into its skull, and causing the watery demon to be felled.

It was then that she heard Star yell something out to them about how the acid was probably not acid. Interesting. "Yeah but, water doesn't bubble like an acid lake does, and I don't really see why they'd lie to us about something that would debilitate in our search for the orbs." She then thought about it a bit more and realized, that she probably would have been killed right then and there from the bear hug, were the water umbra actually acid umbra. "Let's look more into it after these things are dealt with!" She called back to Star. Zephine then turned her attention to the fact that there were two umbra approaching from either side of her. Using a quick spin attack with her scythe, she managed to lop off both of their heads in one clean swipe.
