(Author introduction: After a spark of inspration from reading a manga comic book
based off of the tales told long ago by Shcherzade to King Shahryar,
this story will take two very
    familiar Organization members:
Luxord and Axel, into the story and stories themselves.
If you enjoy stories with happy endings, this will not be for you.
    Try reading Cinderella.
The contenet below is rated PG-13 for Language, mild inneudo, and maybe a little yoai,
but nothing serious there, and not what you think either.)

    Prolouge
    Teamed

Xenmas stood before his audience of two,
the leader being knelt before by two neophtes of the Organization of Nobodies:
    Axel and Luxord.

It was true, in his own beliefs, that two such as them were unworthy to survey
a world such as Hollow Bastion's Heartless castle,
which had long been condemned, even by the heartless
    and their leaders.
But it was not the time to be worrying about trustworthyness.

He looked upon them with empty eyes,
bearing into their souls without hearts.

"You understand what you must do?"
He asked with pauses and enlongity.

Luxord spoke without rising his bowed head,
his right earring dangling against his cheek.
"Yes, Lord Xenmas, retreive of which has been lost."
He said slowly, trying to get his and Axel's understandings across.

    "Good."
Was all Xenmas replied, nodding and turning around from his
position before them at the altar of naught.
This was their signal to leave.
    And they understood immediately...

Axel was first to get up,
Impatient and longing to get the whole thing over with.
He looked down at Luxord, who slowly rose with dignity after him.

    A nod shared between them,
showing both their hatred for each other and
the rage for being teamed up,
    yet masking it from Xenmas.

With a open palm extened at the same spot,
a portal to darkness sprouted in front of them.

Axel stared into the black and purple swirl in
front of him and just walked on through without Luxord.
In which Luxord had to hurry on through after Axel,
so the flamboyant red-head couldn't shut him out.

Now in a change of scenary, they let loose their
thoughts to each other with smirks and galres.

"You're not leading this one, Luxord."
Axel stated matter-of-factly crossing his arms.
    "We go by my rules."
Axel continues, putting emphasis on "my".

Luxord merely let go a breif chuckle and glared a smile at Axel.
"If you comprimise that you lead our destination of unknown end,
    then you are sadly mistaken."
Luxord says with rhetoric, trying to knock Axel's mind off balance just a bit.

Axel just shurgged it off and headed down betwixt and between,
disappearing into a blinding light after Luxord spoke.

    Glaring and disappointed,
Luxord followed in queu, disappearing into the light as well.

    Chapter 1
    The library and the book

Footfalls echoed in the empty halls of
    Hallow Bastion like a pebble
    dropped in a puddle.
Causing every step to echo to every crevice and corner.

Axel, ignoring the sound he was making,
    looked around in disdain.
"What's the point of searching here anyway?"
    Axel asks bored.
"Nothin' here except for some old relics..."
Axel says to Luxord behind him as he kicks a
crumbled gargoyle statue beneath his feet.

The mighty castle had once been hom to the heratles,
but with constant raids and the renovation
    of Radiant Gardens,
The castle was in comeplete ruin.

"We have to find something I know about, that you don't"
Luxord states with a grin and a wave of his hand.

    "Oh really?"
    Axel asks skeptical.
    "You know where to look?"

    "But of course.."
    Luxord replies grinning.
"Why, we check the chapel of course."

    Axel shakes his head.
"I'm leading, and we don't know where the chapel is."
    Axel says slightly annoyed.
    "We check the library first."
He says, pointing behind him to a door in shambles,
    leading into a might library.

Luxord does not lose his grin at all.
    "As you wish."
    Luxord easily gives in,
just as he and Xenmas had planned,
Luxord had used reverse pyscology on
    Axel to search the library.
    Everything was going as planned.
    ***

Inside the library, everything was surpringly intact.
Mighty stores of books and shelves lined the walls,
the shelves making other wall in themselves.

Pretending to look at meangingless books on the lower section,
Luxord had persuaded Axel to look above on the second floor.
it was all a matter of: 3...2...1...-

    "Hey Luxord, I found something!"
Axel yells from the upper level,
looking down at Luxord from the guard rail
and motioning for him to come up.

Luxord gladly left for the stairs and gracefully walked over to
a desk with a large brown book,
    Shaby and almost rusted looking.
The book was old, probably the oldest of the entire library.
Just the sight of it made Luxord's stomach boil with anxiousness.

    "Open it."
Luxord commands, still gazing at the book.

    "No."

    "Fine."
Luxord goes on with Axel again, using the same pyscology as before.

    He opens the book,
having to use both hands to get the heavy covers open.
he quickly glanced over at Axel,
just to make sure he was also over the book.
Noticing Axel was gazing down at the opening book curiously,
Luxord slammed the book wide open,
a shimmer of light radiating from the inside.

    Axel backed up a bit,
unsure of why Luxord was grinning the way he was,
and why a hurricane was ripping through the library,
pages and books swirling around in the wind coming from the book.

    "What now?!"
    Axel asks,
    yelling over the howling,
trying to keep his feet on the ground from the rising winds.

    "Now...we begin, worthy friend..."
    Luxord monotones deeply,
at last being sucked into the book.

Axel, seeing Luxord be engulfed, attempts to run away,
but his efforts are tharwted by his being close to the book.
    Trying to escape the vaccuum,
Axel makes a leap for a nearby bookshelf,
only to be swept off his feet and into the book.

Slowly, the book closed by itself,
as if closed by human hands.
It's cover and spine renewed and fixed.
No longer a dingy brown with dull yellow scribbles on the side,
but instead a rich burgandy with golden, sparkingly letters replacing the scribbles,
reading in italicized letters: "One thousand and one tales of Scheherzade."

And thus the book closed at last with a sound thud,
no longer the winds being swept throughout the library,
    no longer causing a stir.

(Author footnotes: The prolouge and first chapter were simple and only introductory.
The actual story that actually tells what's going on in the book
is much more complex so I'm
writing each chapter in Word Pad then copt and pasting here.
Alot of writers do this, so it will be no problem what-so-ever,
and no one will be disappointed.)

    Chapter 2

    "WHERE THE HE-"
Axel begans to bark in confusion,
now finding himself in a hot desert dune sea.

    "Watch your language, Axel."
    Luxord calmly intervenes,
holding up one hand and looking very much understanding
of their position and very collective about it.

Axel grabs Luxord by the loose material in the front of Luxord's coat,
raising him up about an inch.

    "Answer the "where" question!"
Axel commands at the still very calm Luxord.

"Are you going to put me down now....?"
Luxord asks, obviously stating violence will get them nowhere....yet.

    "Fine.."
Axel growls, letting Luxord go and standing off to the side.

Luxord dusts himself off slowly and then looks to Axel,
    taking his time.
"We are inside the book, and our objectives rest within the here."
    Luxord says rhetoically.

    "That didn't answer much."
    Axel groans,
crossing his arms and oggling Luxord hatefully.

    "You will see soon enough."
    Luxord notes,
a split-second before an arrow pierces the air between them and
lands with a thunk in the sand behind them.
Only Axel looks potentially worried as wrap-masked men riding on stallions gallop closer to them.

The bows the men are weilding are drawing once again for another shot.

    "Do something!"
    Axel says quickly at Luxord,
trying to save his own hide without much effort.

    "Cease!"
Luxord says with authority at the 40 men riding in rows on stallions.
Immediatley, they cease, the horses frozen in time.

    Axel, bewildered and confused,
examines the men and their horses closer.
Noting that some horses were mid-gallop,
and some men were still about to shoot their arrows,
he could only guess what Luxord had done.

    "How'd you do that..?"
Axel asks both interested and confused,
    facing Luxord directly.

"Our mission does not lie with them just yet...."
Luxord says omniously, not answering to Axel,
making a sweeping motion with his hand at the forty men and forty horses.
"We must go to the direct begining."
Luxord continues, looking to the sky,
and immediately the scene is changed from a desert sea,
to a luxurious palace throne room.

    Time has once again continued,
and a young man sits on the throne in front of them.

He is a young, clean-shaven man,
most likely in his early twenties.

He would have seen Axel and Luxord,
if it were not for a fair maiden dressed in harem garb,
dancing about the young shah tauntingly.

"Tell me one of your stories Shcarhezade..."
    The shah sighs,
eyes glaring at the woman dancing about him.

The woman, shcarhezade stops with a smirkish smile hidden behind a red veil.
"Whatever King Shayhar wishes of me, he shall receive..."
Shcarhezade admits herself to the command.

She thought for a moment, and smiled once more.
"The tale I shall tell, is one of four gifts.....three riddles...and one death...."
The harem girl whispers in the shah's ears,
    the scene now fading away.

Immediatley, as vision begin to afix and blur,
Axel looks to Luxord still confused.
    "Now what?!"
He asks, trying to yell over the whir of changing sound.

Luxord still looked composed in the midst of all changes.
"Now it is time to retreive an item."
    Luxord calmly notes,
in a voice not too loud,
yet still suitable for the clammering around them.

    Chapter 3

    Time resumes itself,
once again the scne has changed,
to a bustling medeveil China town market,
Luxord and Axel standing in the midst of it all.

Axel could only look around in confusment,
but quickly that look changes to hunger when he smells a
devine smell emitting from a nearby stand.

He lets the smell carry him to the stand where a
thickly-bispectacled man with a manchu moustache,
    sits ctoss-legged behind the counter,
bits of meat on sticks lined up in front of him.

"Can I help you, good sir?"
    The smaller man asks,
straining to see Axel behind his thick glasses.

    Axel holds his rumbling stomach,
    looking over each kebob.
    They all looked so good!
And he hadn't eaten in days!

He points to the farthest one left,
    "I'll take one of those."
    He says quickly,
    his hunger overwhelming.

The small shop-owner cups out his hand,
    palm up in anxiousness.

    Axel digs into his pocket,
licking his lips from thw sweet smell radiating from the stand.

He takes out 20 munny and drops it into the Shop Owner's hand,
the small man gazing at the munny with inquired curisousity.

Axel then whips his hand to grab one of the sticks,
using his index finger and thumb on both hands to hold the two ends.

Slowly he gazes at the juicy and steaming meat,
    bringing it closer to himself.

Thus he starts munching in like a ravenous dog,
chewing into the meat and gulping loudly.

    Luxord,
    having wondered what happened,
    chuckles a bit,
and walks a bit closer to the stand,
where the hop-owner was oggling how fast Axel was chwoing down his meal.

Luxord's eyes are drawn to the foreign font above the stand,
    his eyes widening,
and then forcing him to break out in laughter.

He recollects himself and crosses his arms,
"Axel, I simply devulge into the depths of my being to tell you you have commited the act of:
    Comprar gato por lebre."
    He says plainly,
watching Axel gorge down the last of the meat.

Axel shurgs while licking his fingers clean of succulent sauce.
    "Which means...."
    He asks boredly.

The shop-owner is looking quite worried by this time,
    something Luxord notes on.

"It would seem your Portugese friend down there,"
Luxord says with a florish of his arm down at the worried shop-owner.
"Has just sold you and perhaps a few others..."
Luxord draws his hand to his chin,
stroking it a few times before completeing his speech.
    "Cat meat sold as Hare."
    He finishes off matter-of-factly.

    Axel suddenly goes blank eyed,
    gripping his stomach again,
    but not in hunger,
    rather in disghust.

    "You mean...?"
    Axel asks sickly,
quivering to stand on his wobbly-knees.

Luxord merely nods and Axel excuses himself silently to a nearby trash heap.
Thus greeting the heap with a friendly huuuuuuuuuurk!

Axel wipes his mouth with his sleeve,
bending over the heap still to see if more will come out.

    Luxord chuckles a bit more,
then walks up behind Axel and places his hand firmly on Axel's shoulder's from behind.
    "Done?"
Luxord asks curtly and rather rudely.

All the disghusted Axel can do is nod weakly and get back to straight position.

He walks side by side through the crowd with Axel,
only taking a moment to snap his fingers far off from the shop
where he had boughten the cat meat on a stick.

Axel suddenly feels better when he hears an agonizing shriek and the burst of flames
coming from just a few meters back,
Don't mess with me again, shrimpy.
    Axel thinks to himself proudly.

    Chapter 4: Axel's big mistake

    (This is for HellKitten.
    Usually I don't do dedications,
but she saved my fanfics from destruction,
so I have to thank her.

    I have to thank Sora/Roxas/Light/Dark,
because without the post above this one,
the fanfic didn't have to hang on by a thread.)

A sudden bang of a taiko drum pierces the night air,
just as Axel and Luxord walk into a large crowd gathering infront of a luxorious palace.

    Luxord looks above the crowd,
knowing the meaning of the sound,
but Axel is completely left amiss.

In Luxord's sight, a young man walks above the crowd on a desinged catwalk,
striding towards a beautiful young Princess,
wrapped in silks of all time,
and her face completely covered in a Geisha mask.

The young man knelt before this nymph,
    leading more to Axel's confusement.

Luxord knows what they say without hearing them,
knowing the man's fate in the end.

    Soon,
not much longer after the man had knelt,
he was forcefully raised to stand,
and brought over to a menacing-looking man with a black sack over his head,
slots cut out for cold, hard eyes.

The guards who had raised the man to his knees,
thrust the same man down back to his knees,
his head resting in a small dent in a wooden device.

Slowly, Axel is born into understanding.
He looks over to Luxord with an intense notion in his his eyes.

    Luxord nods,
    proving the notion true.

While Luxord and Axel were looking at each other,
a thick Chunk! was echoed throughout the plaza,
the Axe-man's blade fitted with blood,
    fresh and warm.

The young man who had banged the taiko drum now lay in two pieces,
his head rolling towards the Princess's feet,
the Princess not even bothering to look down,
and beckons to her guards curtly to whisk the corpse away.

The Princess walks through the doors of the mighty palalce and disappears,
    two guards heaving the body,
while one carried the head uncerimoniously under his arm.

The guards cut through the crowd like butter,
the one with the head in lead.

    At the end,
they stop at Luxord and Axel,
looking curiously at their odd appearence,
    shaking their heads,
and walking off with their bloodied possesions.

Axel can only stutter as the men pass,
almost bringing himself to believe the young man still bore a smile,
but the guards passed too fast to tell.

    Filled with rage,
the only essence of the heart nobodies knew the most about,
Axel races through the part in the crowd,
not stopping until he lifts one mighty stick with a weight tied to the end,
and thrusts it against the Taiko drum himself furiously.

Luxord, slightly wary of Axel's sudden actions,
    yet still impressed,
    flashes a devilish smile.
I hazard.....my passport to the palalce has been accepted....
He thinks to himself as a gasping crowd,
    the slamming of mighty doors,
and the remanents of the taiko drum ring through the still air.

    Chapter 5: Four Gifts

    Axel huffed and puffed,
    sluching to the ground,
using the heavy Taiko stick as leverage to stand up.

    Who knew a Taiko drum,
    was so tough to play...

Soon the boom of Palace doors was heard,
    echoing throughout the crowd.
"Who dares defy my will, who dares not to adhere to the last pathetic fool!"
Comes a beautiful, but horribly angry, female voice just as the boom passes.

    She peers her eyes around,
    and sees Axel,
closing her eyes to slits when he saw him.
    "You dare take my challenge!?"
The Princess of the palace asks commandinly towards Axel.

Axel still needed to catch his breath,
and so, he could not answer.

    Meanwhile,
Luxord was trying to politely maneuver
    through the recently recouped crowd,
trying to squeeze between hundreds of people on each side.
    "One moment!"
    He yells,
not wanting this opportunity to pass,
and Axel to fail the Princess's challenge.

He finally reached the the staircase leading up to the large Taiko drum,
and Axel, still leaning against the taiko stick.

He rose Axel to his feet,
Axel panting from regret of his suddenly stupid action.

    Luxord faced the Princess himself,
trying to keep Axel balanced by keeping one of Axel's arms over his shoulder.
    "He accepts, your highness!"
    Luxord says outloud,
panting a bit himself from his crowd clearing.

The Princess smirked a devilish grin.
"Then bring him forward, Foreign one."
The Princess commands, clearly hearing Luxord's British accent.

    Luxord helped Axel forward,
all the way until they were close enough to see the Princess up close.

She was a beauty to behold,
but bore a sickeningly coldness that would freeze a heart.
Thank goodness neither person present before her had one.

Luxord bowed down the same as he had done to Xenmas earlier,
motioning with his eyes to gesture to the renegergized Axel to do the same.

Both Nobodies bowed before the Chinese Princess,
kneeling before her as protocol called for.

"You wish to take my challenge, Muslim?"
The Princess asks in Axel's direction, speaking almost softly for a moment.
Judging by the green marks under Axel's eyes,
    and his tanned skin,
she must have thought him also foreign and a follower of Muhamed(Sp?).

Axel was abosolutely confused to a "T".
    What was this challenge?
    What was a Muslim?

    Axel asked himself before replying.
    "Er.....yes..."
    Axel says pathetically,
    unsure of his words.

The Princess changed her modd from soft,
    to softer,
    now facing down at Luxord.
    "And you are his friend?"
    She asks,
    almost sounding giddy.

Luxord merely nodded his bowed head.

    The Princess thus sneered.
    "Then if he fails,
    I will behead you BOTH!"
She yells loud enough for the entire crowd to hear and cheer to.
    She speaks strong and steady,
lifting her hands above her head,
causing the silk about her to rise and form batwings under her long, thin arms.

    Axel gulped,
    as did Luxord.
Fear... was also quite well-known throughout the Organization...

The Prinnces lowered her hands to her side and glared down at the two kneeling before her.
    "Rise."
    She harshly commands,
not a touch of sincerity in her voice.

    Both rose to their feet,
    standing tall and proud.

    The Princess,
standing a few steps above them,
still was taller than the two,
most likely at their own height,
were she to stand at ground level with them.

She whispered into a guard's ear,
cupping her mouth against his ear so that Luxord and Axel would not lipread.

    The Guard nodded shortly after,
    slowly nodding to the other,
and the both of the guards standing at the door went inside the palace.

The Princess once again faced Luxord and Axel,
feeling the fear in their eyes,
    and grinning evilly at it.
"I give you both four gifts:"
    She says softly once more,
pausing long enough for Axel to smile confidently,
thinking: Four gifts? Doesn't sound too bad...

    The Princess ceased her elongity,
    and her soft voice,
and spoke coldly her last words to her sentence.
    "Three riddles.....and one Death!"
    She hisses,
    baring her white, straight teeth.

Now Axel had a change in view about the exact difficulty of the tasks that awaited,
yet Luxord did not change his emotion at all.

(Author: Short Chapter, I know. But I'm trying to make the first story last
    as long as possible,
without making it go on for too long.)

Chapter 6: Riddle One and Two, and ignorance

Luxord and Axel faced the Princess,
who was locked in complete thought.

Nothing could brake her out of this trance,
until she came up with the hardest riddle she could conjure.

    Suddenly,
    the Princess's eyes lit up.
She gave a cold stare to the both of them,
    Axel and Luxord.

    "I am cold,
yet I can boil so easily."
    The Princess begins in monotone.
    Easy..water
    Axel thinks to himself

    "I run forever,
    until I run dry."
    She goes on.
    Still probably water...

    "Armies thirst for it,
    deals are set in it;
    What am I?"
    She finishes.

Armies thirst for it and deals are st in it....scratch one water...
Axel groans in his mind in reply.
    It couldn't of been easy,
    that was for sure.

    He looked over at Luxord,
who was scratching his chin for a short matter
of time before he face etched a devilish smile.
    "Considerably easy.....Blood!"
    Luxord says outloud with flourish,
    bringing Axel to full-realization,
and causing the princess to bear a scowl over her face.

    "You have won the first,
but you will not win the second!"
    The Princess screeches.

    Axel begs to differ,
throwing his arm over Luxord's shoulder and giving
a thumbs-up with the other hand.
"Sorry, but we got the brains!"
    Axel says smartly,
    angering the princess even further.

Luxord merely rolls his eyes and crosses his arms.
"I won't answer the next for you."
    Luxord says plainly,
shutting his eyes and making a striaght-face.

    Instantly,
Axel retracts his arm and bears a look of surprise.
    "Whadaya mean by that?"
    Axel sneers,
almost wanting to scorch Luxord's head off with
    one snap of his fingers.

    But Luxord did not answer,
and the Princess gave out a shrill laugh.
"So sorry Muslim,...but it would seem both of
your brains have all but abadoned you!"
    The Princess screeches with laughter,
insulting Axel to the point of
    him taking the challenge eagerly.

"Just Gimme the next riddle, Princess."
    Axel says sneeringly,
    prepping himself to answer correctly.
    After all,
    one screw up,
and both he and silent Bob over there
would both be running around with there heads chopped off.

The Princess lost no balance in Axel's sneer,
and merely went into another trance.
    And only moments later,
she opens them and speaks quickly,
    trying to confuse Axel.
    "I spread through the world,
    uncaring of who I kill;
I destroy all that is in my path,
    but leave hope for rebuilding;
I feed on the same thing you do,
    but die on the thing you exhale;
    What am I?"
The Princess says all at once,
hardly taking a moment to catch her breath.

    Instantly,
due to the easy demenour of the question,
    Luxord figures it out.
He also contemplates how Axel will answer it,
    no doubt knowing himself.
    But how he will answer...
could put them in dire Jepeordy.

    Axel grins,
raising his hand above his head,
and bringing essence into his being.

The air turns thick and smoky around him,
until he is engulfed in a great tornado of fire!
    Wrapping around him in blazes,
contained and not attacking anyone else,
    or catching fire to anything.

    The fire tornado dims,
    Luxord's worry coming true,
and the shock of the crowd coming forth.

Even the Princess cannot help but gaze in shock,
her thin and dainty jaw dropping slightly.

As soon as it had started,
    the tornado stops,
and Axel stands in the same spot,
    unharmed and grinning triumphantly.
"Would it be what I just did,
or was I really abandoned by both my brains?"
    Axel asks Sarcastically,
breaking the Princess out of her shock,
and causing her to go into an intense fury.

    "Seize them!"
    She yells to her guards,
    storming through the doors
and barging around her to run at Luxord and Axel.
    "They are vile Muslims, the both of them;
Trying to fool us all with witchcraft!"
She yells at the top of her voice,
and rumbling crowd cherring in reply.

    Meanwhile,
Axel and Luxord were being uplifted by the shoulders
    by four burly guards,
who brought the two nobodies into the palace,
    kicking and yelling.

    The princess scoffs,
    and leaves the public podium.
    Following them inside,
and slamming the grand doors behind her.

    (I would like to note:
That the views pertained by those in the story,
the one in question: The Princess on muslims,
    is not MY opinion!

    Remember,
many other cultures were cold and unforgiving
    of such that religion,
which is still frowned upon generally today.

I would like to apologize to the audience,
    if they found this offensive,
    please continue reading.)

I got it from a manga comic book.

You were incorrect...and as if the thing Axel did wasn't enough to tell you...xD
"I feed on the same thing you,
but die on the thing you exhale."

    Fire feeds on Oxygen, which we breath;
    and Carbon-dioxide kills it,
    so does water.

And we breath out both carbon-dioxide and water vapor.

But there probably won't be another chapter
for at least two days. :(

Chapter 7: Imprisonment, but not without it's gains

The cold stone slab which Luxord and Axel
were thrown onto felt like being struck in the head with metal.
It hurt like hell when it hit,
and kept on hurting for a long time.

    Luxord rubs his head,
wondering how everything had gone so wrong.
    It was Axel's fault,
    no doubt,
since the hot-head had taken a moment to show off.

Now they both lie in a caged cell,
    seemingly, alone.

But a still breathing coming from behind them tells them otherwise.

    Luxord leaps to his feet,
and Axel whirlling around on the spot
to face a shadowed face in a far corner.

    The guards had imprisoned them
but could not take away their weapons,
which Axel and Luxord bore proudly.

But before Luxord threw a single
    Card or die,
or Axel could strike with his chakras,
    the shadowed face spoke out.
    "Do not worry,
    I'm not an adversary..."
    He says humoursly,
almost laughing at Luxord and Axel's quick actions.

Luxord feels doltish for acting on impulse so quickly,
and makes his cards disappear in a flash of black and white.

Axel still balanced a chakra in each hand,
but only because he was not so easily trusting.

    The shadowed face shifted upward,
the rest of the frame following.
    And soon,
the entire person walked out of the darkness,
    and into the dim light.

    He wore tattered clothes,
obviously having spent a great while in the cell.
    He still looked moderately young,
though deep bags laid under his eyes.
    And over the eyes,
    were spectacles,
    still somehow clear and uncracked.

    As he drew closer,
he could see Axel more clearly himself.
"Were you thrown in here for
    practicing Mhammedism?"
    The man asks cofusedly,
his gaze more directed at the less hostile Luxord.

Luxord, getting quite tired of being judged in that respect,
gave a slight shake of his head.

The man looked even more curious but dared not ask.
Instead, he gave a friendly smile and a bow to each of them,
his spectacles almost slipping off the end of his nose.
    He slowly rose and nodded.
"I am Ahmed Jafar, former scribe to the Emperor."
    He notes humbly.

    Axel still looked skpetical,
    still bearing his weapons.
"Then what got you down here?"
    He asks with a sneer.

    Ahmed gave another curt
bow, and grinned at the question.
    "It is a long story,
    that I must warn you."
    Ahmed said smartly,
    raising an eyebrow,
waiting for Luxord and Axel's reply.

His chakrams still held in his hands,
    Axel looked around
    and shrugged.
    "We got time."
    He replies sarcastically.

Ahmed grinned an even broader smile,
    and cleared his throat,
    ready to tell his tale.

"You See...the Princess and I were once very good friends."
    Amhed began,
drawing in Luxord and Axel's attention.
"That was a time......before the invasion...."
And so Ahmed hung his head low,
    his chin touching his chest.

    "Invasion?"
    Axel asks curiously.

"Perhaps....I will have to elaborate further...
    than what I already have..."
    Ahmed says knowingly,
    and pushes his glasses
    back upward onto his nose,
    the spectacles starting to slide
    off at first.

"We got time for the whole story,
    may as well hear it."
    Axel says hurringly,
    trying to haste Ahmed.

    At this, Ahmed changed
    the subject for a moment,
raising his head to meet the others.
"I'm afraid not so much time as one
    may think."
    Ahmed speaks with sophistication.

Luxord raised an eyebrow at this.
He no longer controled the situation,
    so he literally had no
    idea what may happen next.

Ahmed laughed and hung his head again.
"I am due to be executed at sunrise,.....
and most probably you two are as well."
    He replies sullenly,
but yet with a touch of humor in his tone.

Axel rolled his head to the side and breathed
    a sigh, showing his disdain.
"May as well tell us while your mouth is still
    connected to you windpipe."
    Axel ends sharply,
    his own humor being sarcasm.

Ahmed raised his head once more
and lifted his head and eyes
    out the moonlit cell-window,
    only small bits of light
coming in from the glow of the Pale sattelite.
    "You see....it all began.....
    with but an action........of greed."
    Ahmed enunciates,
drawing Axel and Luxord's interests in even further.
