One day left to get RPG Maker VX Ace for as low as $1

Just in case anyone is interested in the software.

 

Before I actually think of buying this, can you show some images of what you could make with these? I would love to make a game for fun, but I'd also like to see what it includes

 

The bundle actually includes games made in RPGMaker. It's a fairly versatile little tool, great for game devs without much coding experience

 

Yeah, I found some info online, and I actually decided to buy it. Partly because I thought it'd be cool to see if I could get a game done by the 30th and send it in for that contest, and also I figure it'd be a good chance to try and start on my game idea. Now, it's not really an idea for a 2D game, but just having the ideas and such out of your head an view-able in some way can help, which is why I bought it. I also paid the $12 and got everything, just because it was cheap

 

wish i could buy it, but i cant so i yarred it instead. least i'll be able to see if i can do anything with it.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh....I did dabble a little in like 8th grade xD

It shouldn't be too hard with Photoshop though ._.

 

Even without coding knowledge, it's surprisingly versatile, especially if you're willing to get creative.
Add scripting and you can basically do whatever you want besides like 3D (I mean, I bet you could add 3D, but it'd take a lot more effort than it would to just use a program made for 3D games)
Also, VX Ace comes with a character generator, for the spriting impaired, it's also Steam Workshop enabled, so I assume there's a lot of fan made stuff, PLUS there are many, MANY fan communities dedicated to providing resources to RPGMaker users
So yeah no, do something cool or weird then share it with us

 

I plan on hopefully making a game that's somewhat related to my story ideas. If I managed to finish it in time for the contest by the end of the month, I'm making you guys my guinea pigs on trying it out and seeing if it's any good.

And maybe it's just because it's 2D, but I feel like someone's going to try and make another version of Golden Sun with this thing
