Today a post of mine was deleted, and then undeleted. That's not really the point of this topic though, what annoyed me is that I was completely unaware the post had been deleted. I only found out because someone quoted it prior to deletion. This bothers me, surely the purpose of deleting posts is to show what is and isn't allowed? But how is a person meant to stop making these posts if they are never informed they were deleted in the first place? I personally think that something should be implemented so you get a notification if your post is deleted, and then the post deletee can argue against it if they feel it was unfair or uninformed At the very least, it should reduce the amount of delete-worthy posts by longer term members, right?
We did have a Moderation Auto-PM modification back on vBulletin, but, as far as I know, so far there's no equivalent on XenForo.
That was admittedly my fault. Someone had reported it for being spam earlier today while I was/am busy doing something, so I went in and deleted it. Sorry for not informing you about it, though. Also, what Amaury said is correct. There used to be an AutoPM system back on vBulletin (you'd get a PM if your post and/or thread was moved, deleted or edited), but was lost when we had moved to XenForo. I know Misty's looked for an equivalent before, but didn't have luck. Dunno if it's still unavailable or not now though, can run through and check to see.
I don't hold anything against you for it, I definitely don't want to draw attention to my case, since it was fairly justified IMO (it was kinda in a grey area) It's jsut that this particular instance made me realize that posts of mine could be deleted and I would never know
Yeah, I understand this complaint. And as Amaury mentioned, we did have a moderation AutoMessaging system back on Vbulletin. Unfortunately as far as I'm aware, there's no equivalent. As for how to know which posts are okay or not? Umm...There's rules in each section. I mean, most people don't but the rules do say what you can/can't post. I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but if you read the rules it gives an idea about what's acceptable.
I do actually know of one and have been meaning to test it, but social groups took priority for me. it's on my list.
It gives you an idea, but that's not always enough. It'll tell you not to do stuff like swear at someone or something, but not stuff like "Don't quote things from the video in the OP"
Found an autoPM equivalent for Xenforo, not sure if it's the one you found Misty but it seems like something we were looking for. http://xenforo.com/community/resources/conversations-on-moderation-actions-by-waindigo.776/
