Kingdom Hearts II Okay...the reason Riku/Mickey wore the cloak was why now?

Just like the title says, I wanna know...Every single Org member is distinguishable when they have their hoods on even (Axel has the super thin arms, Roxas has the huge shoes) Riku and DEFINATELY MICKEY. I mean, wth were they hiding in their cloaks for? I mean, everyone knew who mickey was because of his size and huge ears...
Sora, even being how clueless he is sometimes noticed that Riku didnt look like any of the org members he encountered before hand...even saix did.

"You, I thought Roxas took care of you."

Why couldn't they wear there normal clothes anyway? was it something that nomura was like, OH THEY LOOK COOLER NOW! Personally, I think Riku's normal clothes are cooler than his cloak...Besides, he got his cloak when he was 15 and shorter...he grew a lot in kingdom hearts 2...your telling me his cloak grew with him?

 

Well, the Organization members where their cloaks and hoods to hide from people they don't know. I mean, if you saw some random guy walking down the street in a black trenchcoat and hood that hides his face, would you just automatically assume that it was Saix, a man you never met or heard of from an organization you've never heard of? No. You only know who they are once they take the hoods off and introduce themselves.

As for Riku, when he has his hood on, he could be just another Organization member. I mean, as Rikunort, he looks very similar to Xaldin and Xemnas when he has his hood on. And as Riku, if he put his hood up, he could just be a new member. Sora didn't recognize him by how he looked. His heart just has a strong enough connection to Riku that he could tell it was him.

As for Saix, he probably knew that it was Riku, because, as second-in-command, he probably knew exactly what each member looked like, and that Riku was the only other human in an Org. cloak.

Never did understand Mickey though. I guess he just thought that he was hidden, even though he wasn't.

 

Mickey is short, and a mouse. Cloak or not, he probably could've gotten pretty much anywhere unless some random Org. XIII member tripped over him or something.

Or maybe they'd guess it was some random Heartless who wore some random shrunken coat. I dunno. I never did understand Mickey and the cloak.

 

For sora i dont think it was the whole heart thing...Riku's hood looks a lot different than xaldin's or xigbars. He noticed right away, and he saw xaldin before...(im talking about the second visit to the Mulan World), and he still did not think it was Xaldin...I think the only reason Sora didnt want to come forth with saying "RIKU!?" was because not only was rikunort wearing an org 13 cloak, but the fact that he was bigger...although im not sure why he couldnt tell by the weapon...still, I want to know why he wore the cloak, and not something else. Im not sure if theres an answer, but...why would nomura want riku to wear the cloak of sora's greatest enemy...?

 

I've always believed that the cloaks allow whoever wears them to be known as higher-ranked over most lower-ranked Nobodies. That's why they're usually not attacked unless someone with higher rank orders them to. So, Dusks and whatnot completely ignore Riku and Mickey unless one of the Organization gives direct orders to do whatever it takes to complete their mission.

 

Actually yes, i can tell it's Saix with his face concealed. A KH expert's gotta know these things.
I agree though. I may just confuse Riku with xemmy-chan or Xaldy-chan. But it's easy to tell it's mickey... he really is optomistic 'bout his ears...

Ever notice Mickey uses a Dark Portal until he takes his cloak off, same with Riku.

 

Maybe they liked how the cloaks looked?

Yeah, but would you if you didn't know who Saix was? I mean, Sora didn't know what every member looked like.

As for them not getting attacked, I guess that makes sense, except that in the Digital Twilight Town, they just straight off start to attack Riku. They don't think twice about his cloak. And since they were just there to capture Roxas, not to take out some random enemy who happens to have one of their coats, they would have just ignored him if they didn't attack anyone in a coat. Come to think of it, they may not even be able to see. I think they don't attack the Org. members unless ordered to because the Organization has the power to control them. And Xemnas is the most powerful, so he can override their power if he wants them attacked.

 

Well it would be a good disguise for Riku if they were trying to avoid Org 13 but nobody in the Org has ****ing huge ears soooo.... it doesn't work with him.

 

Nomura said that it was for undercover purposes, even though it's easy to tell that it's Mickey. I think Riku was discovered when he fought Roxas. He must have used his disguise to get into the castle, then he purposely blew his cover when he fought Roxas, and somehow, all the Organization members knew about him instantly(Saïx, for example). Mickey's disguise worked the whole time, I think. And he never seemed to use his Keyblade until he was forced to save Sora, Donald, and Goofy; so the Keyblade might have given him away as well. Sora and co. only thought it was Mickey when they saw his Keyblade, and even then, they were unsure (until Goofy said he knew it was). Riku didn't seem cautious at all during KH2 and fought Nobodies without even thinking because he knew the whole Organization knew about his disguise anyway. He only kept wearing the cloak to prevent Sora from seeing him in his Ansem form (he knew he had to conceal himself because he somehow must have known that Sora would discover that it was Riku even if he looked like Ansem). Mickey on the other hand, still in disguise, kept telling the others not to give him away, until he sought revenge on the Organization for "killing" Goofy, where he just threw off his cloak, summoned his Keyblade and charged towards them.

 

wow Nomura must have wanted the Org13 AI to be ******ed if they wouldn't be able to see Mickey's ears...

 

well as far as I know DiZ gave Riku the coat so he could find Roxas a lot more easier... He already could go through dark portals so soz ICSP, I don't agree, Mickey used them so he could find out about the Organisation without being caught or attacked.

 

Are youtalking about the cloak or the portals? Because I don't think the cloak helped at all xD

 

i think it said in one of his interviews that to hide their identnits like the armor is suppouse to hide terras aquas and vins identits

 

To conceal their identity though due to Mickey's height and ears it didn't work out too well. And Sora still eventually found out that Riku was...Riku because of his keyblade. >>

 

but...but...all of their cloaks are different...is everyone dumb in kh2 for not noticing mickey? I just kind of think its a plot hole...we never found out how the organization tracks people down either, so as long as riku and mickey weren't in sight, of a nobody, they wouldnt even have to wear cloaks, even though mickey said they had eyes and ears everywhere...do they have some kind of riku/mickey radar?
Seriously...maybe the cloak conceals whoever wears it from some sort of radar...or something...what i mean is, the org was able to track down sora's movement, based on where he went. but they couldnt find king mickey, even in the realm of darkness, which is their home. Maybe the cloak is like a "stealth bomber" able to go under the signal to stay hidden...

 

Well, we'll just have to wait for 358/2 Days to know for sure.
