Ok, I'm pissed again...

Let's break this down...

1. We don't make members staff when they're new. Most of the staff here are staff because they were good members on this site, as well as the previous PHPBB forum.

2. Most members are made mod after being such horrible member's because they make amends. All staff here have a record of indecency. I know I have that too. I used to be a horrible member waaaay back in the day. But I got better, evolved and became a good staff member. It's all part of the cycle of member's.

3. Some member's aren't mod's, like NRA, because we haven't been putting consideration to other member's. We aren't even looking for staff, so why are you complaining? We went through a massive staff search for about 3 month's, now it's over. If we wanted more staff, we could easily do so. We aren't because there is no point now. We are currently working on making our current staff member's the best they can be.

4. John S. was given FH first because he offered his services, and we needed someone to help us look over the Spam Zone. DA was then shortly made FH afterward because we were still under our staff search. And ALSO don't forget we don't just make members all-the-sudden-staff, we go through an entire cavity search of the member, learning about them, and interviewing them. FH is a status that we do because we find those member's have potential. And we work with them until they are eventually mod-capable.

5. And mod's like myself are NOT hypocrites. The only spamming I ever, EVER do is in the spam zone. The spam zone. Where it's perfectly legal. I would only do it else where because it was a comedic reference to the subject.

EDIT: And btw, the staff aren't just slaves. We can do what we feel like doing to have fun just like the member's. Even if it means having just ONE word in relation to the subject. :/ It wouldn't be fair otherwise.

6. We lock thread's after the question is answered because there is no more need of the subject. We ALWAYS put "If you have any other questions just PM one of the staff or a reliable member," so we really aren't doing anything wrong, IMO.

7. And I have no comment's about the flamming-to-closing. That's often because a pointless argument is brought up within' a discussion that is causing more and more member's to collaborate. We don't really need that. :/

8. And deleting post's the way you say is kinda unnecessary, because that isn't right to delete that many post's. We would be deleting hundred's of post's a day if this were the case you describe.


So yeah...that's all I feel like contributing here. Lulz.

 

Darky made a lot of good points.

When someone is elected for staff, they don't just say "Omigosh, they'd make a good forum helper!" and make them one. We all deliberate and make a choice. Yeah, there are a lot of members that would make WONDERFUL staff members, but we don't need anymore staff at the moment.

The only time I've spammed is in the Spam Zone. Sure, I've slid off topic in a couple of discussions, but I always drift back.

 

I'm actually on the staff's side, not that I'm against you shadowjak. Darky made good points as did some others.
Even though I have a few disapproving thoughts about the staff, I think they deserve something better than what you said. I don't even know how much Sara works on making this site great. And check out Deathspank. Or Xaldin. Or Arc. Or Misty. Check out all the others who are active, like Darky or Roxas. Most of them have proved their worth. I don't think its really fair even though I still think there is too much staff.

 

Also, with *Sora*'s help, we're working on trying to put it more KH based. With the closed spam threads, we're going to have changes.

This is the second day in a long process, me and DS are also working on adding new add-ons to the forum to make it easier for all of us.

And yes, we are training the staff. And I should point out, if I was hard on my staff 24/7, I wouldn't have a staff.

I do lay down the law when needed, but I'm not harsh on them to kick back and relax. I ask them to be proffessional when needed and to relax otherwise.

 

I've seen the staff help keep people on track all the time. They're always answering people's questions, editing post's from the more ruder members >.> , and helping to expand and clean up the forums. although there's always a stupid person that comes along and starts 3 post your picture threads when we have one stickied or starts talking about dead rabbits in intelligent discussion. And the mods and stuff spam in the spam section so theres not really a problem there. so if this place really pisses you off so much, i guess you could go to any of the other 1000 kh forums on the internet.

 

I thought it would be worth noting a personal opinion I have;

too many people care just about becoming staff on this website, not just going around and posting and being a member forever. It's destroying the forum.

 

Well said Axel, I agree 100% with you! The staff put so much effort to make this forum great (sorry shadowjak) and I really admire them for making this forum the way it is right now. I personally don't see most of the staff being a hypocrite, but if they have to then it must be for a good reason.

That is true...
In my personal opinion I'd rather be the member because if we were all staff it just would get boring and some immature members would eventually destroy the threads...

Well, a lot of you have made interesting points here and there. I agree with shadowjak and the staff on this one. From what I have seen, the staff does great work and they enforce the rules. And Roxas, I have seen that on other forums, including a few where I was mod and or super mod.

 

Yes, most of us want to become part of the staff, but when the fourm gets to a certain size the crew must go on a hiring spree to filter out some members. This site can only handle oh so much people with a handfull.

 

And we personally have more than enough (capable) staff right now.

 

I honestly don't think they sghould go on that hiring spree. They should do what IGN does and wait to see how many regs the yhave, not members. Since half of the people who joni this site, never come back...

Ahem. I have not once asked for modship thank you very much. Being a member is simple, and I like simple. If I ever became a mod, I can't complain because I'd be flaming myself, and I'd have to be involved and listen to more people *****...

 

Pfft, too bad you don't see your own ignorance.

If it's *****y, then why do it? No one seems to honestly care about this thread as a whole. Most people are completely happy with this forum. People like you, going round and "*****ing" as you put it, is damaging the forum more than any of the mods or members do themselves.

 

yea, but i noticed ALOT of them haven't done very much lately. i haven't seen the red ppl do very much at all actually.

 

Well, me and Mish are the only ones on, and I can only mod Intel and Creativity, so it's difficult to be all nice and flashy. This website doesn't need much anyway.

Honestly, shadowjak, you complain about our staff, then think they'll be running better with your rant on their minds. You're really helping us out.

 

BTW, speaking about staff. i never even knew Sora existed here. i NEVER saw that person do anything. this wasnt' an attack btw, it was just an observation

Truly it does, how the hell do you know what it is to be a staff member here? ALL of us have tried our hardest since we got here to amke the site it's best.

Some of us have fought pretty bloody battles to get where we are, and I can't beleive none of you care for it. If you really think the staff is doing a bad job, THEN LEAVE.

I was on this site for almost 8 months before I got ANYWHERE. You wanna no why? Because I sacrificed myself, my reputationw ith the staff and the mods and the site itself so an egomaniacal admin, Boris that is, couldn't use me to ban people like you.

There was a poll set up, if any of you remember. A poll to pick a new mod. The members would vote for them. I cheated on that poll, and got caught by Roxas on purpose so that DS would backlash and destroy it. Boris was pissed, because he wanted to use me as a mod to destroy members who complained. I refused, and after that, he was taken out of power. It was not till 5 motnhs later that DS and Sara felt I was "ready" to become a mod. The site would be not be how it is right now if not for me. And that's only 1 of the things 1 of the mods have done. Each eprson here has proven themsevles worthy of their title. Everyone has fought for the site and won. Dakry and Sara and Roxas and *Sora* and even DS worked so hard on this site youc an't beleive. We are the people who would know who has potential. When we see someone who we know will fight for the site like we did, we give them power.

This thread pisses me off so much, and people like you do a lot. You have no idea what it's like behind the scenes, if you did you'd be praising us like we're gods.

We aren't, but we take a lot of crap for the site, including crap like this. Now please, stop complaining?
