I've seen that theory float around for years that Kairi's grandmother was part of the war but come on, she may be old but she's not THAT old. XD Unless... Ava somehow got trapped in the realm of darkness, got out many years later and went on to lead more keyblade wielders as well as a normal life until she got old and retired.
