I understand your displeasure at this title along with that of many other traditional DMC fans out there.

But to be fair, you are unaware of the context in which the news anchor refers to Dante as a sexual deviant. It is entirely possible that the news anchor is merely spreading propaganda and misinformation about Dante as part of the game's story. There is no factual statement from Capcom saying that Dante is indeed a registered sex offender or anything. On the other hand, it is possible that maybe Dante is into closet bondage or has a foot fetish.

My point is, nobody knows at this time. Why get irritated over facets of a game that are uncertain? ​

 

No one can deny Dante is a pervert, but being a sexual deviant is far from being one of the problems with this lame reboot...

To be honest, I'd prefer him a little more edgy.

I'm a huge DMC fan and I don't see the problem with the new game. :/

The more I see, the more I'm fine with it. I'll miss the old Dante, but the new one isn't nearly as bad as I expected.

 

Capcom is not worth getting your knickers in a knot over.
They do nonsensical things when it comes to their games.​

 

I'd be absolutely fine with the game if they didn't call it Devil May Cry when they changed how Dante looks and partly how he acts and the speed of the gameplay and probably the story.

(and don't be a smartass and say its called DmC I know that)

Its kinda like with the newer Silent Hill games: I'd be fine if they were called something else, but as of now, they tarnish the original trilogy's goodness.

 

Halo Wars was a fantastic edition to the Halo series though it introduced elements to the lore that was not in keeping with the original games, introduced questionable characters, totally changed the gameplay and more.

I can't judge a game that has not even been released yet. It makes no sense to me.

To be honest, that's most male emos. It fits that stage in his life, his youth where he is still trying to find himself.

 

I won't say much for Halo Wars' quality, but I meant that, the Halo universe is a more expansive one than Devil May Cry's. It wouldn't make sense for DMC to have, for instance, a strategy game all of a sudden, because action games are the basis of its universe, if that makes sense?

We already have Devil May Cry 3 for his youth stage, and he looked just fine.

Like I said, change the names, and I'd be fine with this game.

 

I sort of enjoyed parts of the first one.
But it's a pretty average series and if you don't like what they're doing there are better ways to spend your time.

Also as long as this game is being made at 30 Frames per second and only 3-4 enemies on screen then I am NOT buying it.

 

DMC3 remains one of the best action games ever. 1 is fine though slow for my tastes, 4 would be great if they didn't make us go backwards half-way through as Dante, and 2....I'm not touching it even though I own it.

 

Honestly, the only thing that bothers me is that it didn't need a series. It looks like a decent game, but they should have called it something else. The series isn't even that old to warrant a reboot.
