Of Souls, Keyblades, and Devils

"Heh, heh, heh...the both of your souls would make a fine meal!" Nightmare roared. He charged at both of them with Soul Edge(Phantom) shielding his head. The large, purple eye in the sword focused its gaze at Dante, staring through him.

"Does that boy with the Keyblade trouble you?" Zasalamel asked them. "For there are two weapons said to be as powerful as the Keyblade and rival it. It may prove useful into manipulating him." He turned towards Xemnas. "Do you wish to know more?"

 

Xaldin:Two swords Hmph tell us more

OOC:The-king isint on now so Xaldin will ask

 

Zasalamel looked at Xaldin. "The two swords, Soul Edge and Soul Calibur were crafted by the hands of a king in a forgotten kingdom. Soul Edge was the first to be made and was first an ordinary sword. But after being bathed in the blood of its victims, it became a cursed blade with a large eye as its core. But if you can overcome its will, you will be able to control is power. Soul Calibur was created when the king shattered a part of Soul Edge in a battle with his son. He purified the shards of the evil blade and . It is often called the spirit sword and opposes Soul Edge. But like the Keyblade, it has the ability to choose its wielder, but if you can find it, you can wield it. The only thing that they have in common is that their properties change depending on whoever grabs their handle. For example, if a person with a disipline of a lance took eiither sword, the blade would change into a lance." He finished explaining. "If you plan to seek out the two swords, then look for the Azure Knight." he said, fading into nothingness.

 

Xaldin:Lexaeus Stay here and tell Xemnes where I have gone im going to look for this Azura knight

Xaldin vanished into a portal

 

Lady took a sideways look at Dante. The Son of Sparda was completely unmoving. Lady dived to the side, rolling through the dirt and out of harms way. Nightmare was very close to Dante now. That evil sword swung down. Dante flashed with aqua energy.

Clang.

Dante held his right forearm vertical. The blade had struck his arm, and as it had done so a shield of red energy had flashed around Dante. Dante's forearm and Soul Edge both vibrated from the force of the lock. Blood trickled down Dante's arm.

"Nice sword," Dante grunted, "Almost got through."

With a sudden movement, Dante dropped his arm and ducked aside. The Soul Edge continued on its way. Dante flashed with yellow energy with a cry of, "Trickster!", and dashed towards Nightmare. He kick-flipped off the creature and into the air.

"Gunslinger!" Dante called, flashing blue. He spun vertically in the air, pistols firing downwards. He created a platform of red energy momentarily to jump higher and holstered the pistols, drawing Rebellion. He brought it down for a punishing Helm Breaker.

 

The bullets ricocheted off the blue armor and flew towards Lady. Nightmare guard impacted the downward blow to the head, sending anyone who attacked off balance and open. "Souls, come unto me!" he roared, soul charging to the max level, giving him a blue aura. Out of his experiance of countless battles, he grabbed Dante in mid air with his grotesque right arm.

In the distance, Zasalamel was watching the fight go on. "Impressive." he commented.

 

Lady's eyes widened behind her sunglasses. Dante found himself snatched out of the air by Nightmare's grotesque right arm, Rebellion trapped against his side. Lady just managed to dive away from the ricocheting bullets. Dante fixed Nightmare with his cool gaze, ignoring the blue aura that surrounded him. Dante flashed yellow again.

"Now you see me," Dante phased out of existance in a scarlet blur, "Now ya DON'T!" Dante drop-kicked Nightmare in the back of the helmet, using the recoil to flip backwards.

"Swordmaster!" Dante called, flashing red. He flipped Rebellion into a reverse knife-grip, crouching low to the ground. Red lightning rolled down the blade, imbuing the weapon with incredible power.

"DRIVE!" Dante yelled, slashing the sword across the ground. A blade of red energy raced towards Nightmare, throwing up clouds of dust and cracking the ground as it went. But Dante wasn't finished.

"One, two!" Dante continued, slashing twice more. Two extra blades raced towards Nightmare. Dante flipped Rebellion upright again. There was still some energy on the blade.

"Come on," Dante said, flourishing Rebellion. He hurled it at Nightmare with all his strength, the blade spinning through the air of its own accord.

 

Nightmare landed on his feet and cut the red blades of energy and kicked Rebellion in the other direction. He stuck Soul Ede(Phantom) inot the ground and his red eye flashed. Oddly, he felt watched and turned towards the direction of Zasalamel.

 

"Hey!" Dante called, "Don't wimp out on me!" He caught Rebellion with one hand as it returned. He followed Nightmare's gaze and saw Zasalamel.

"Another demon? I guess I'll get double pay!" Dante exclaimed, cracking his knuckles.

 

Zasalamel smirked. He vanished and reappeaared behind Dante, placing the blade of his scythe between Dante's legs. "Let's see if you're trully worthy for the sword..." he whispered into Dante's ear. He pulled the scythe blade up from underneath.

 

OoC: Between the legs? THAT'S a bit harsh!

IC: Dante clenched his legs together, trapping the scythe. He grinned and backflipped, sailing over Zasalamel and landing in a handstand. Dante followed-up the flip and using his legs hurled the scythe - and by extension, Zasalamel - through the air. Dante landed with Rebellion ready, a grin spread across his face. Never since the Order of the Sword had he seen this much entertainment.

 

Nightmare huunger grew. If he kept on fighting, his body would fall apart. So he took this chance to leave before Siegfried's presence was gone.

Zasalamel landed with the scythe blade dragging him into a stop. "That's right. That's what it takes." he acknowledged to Dante, then vanishing out of the area.

 

Dante looked slightly surprised at the two demons simply leaving.

"What's wrong?" Dante shouted at the air, "Scared of a little fight?"

"Dante, no matter what you might think, those demons are bad news. Especially that other one with the scythe showing up out of the blue. We need to get back to Devil May Cry and plan a strategy," Lady told Dante.

"Whatever," Dante dismissed, "Anyway, there was something wierd about that Nightmare's sword. It looked a lot like father's. Maybe he's connected somehow."

The two demon hunters mounted their motorbikes and rode away, back to Devil May Cry.

 

Zasalamel returned to his clock tower to think. Hmm...those two were clearly...interesting. But that organization ceems to be standing still. The thirteenth member had this look. Either way, everything's falling into place.

 

OoC: Oh yeah, I totally forgot I was playing Roxas. My bad :S

IC: Roxas sat in his room, thinking. That wierd creature, Zasalamel, was bad news. He could feel it. But the Organization would follow him blindly for the promise of a weapon greater than the Keyblade. Roxas would go along with the plan, but the minute Zasalamel stepped out of line, he'd have to answer to the Key of Destiny.

 

Xaldin appered out of a portal behind Nightmare thinking if Zasalmel would betry his trust so he did not let his guard down

Nightmare stopped. He felt another strong soul near him, but this one felt...empty. It didn't seem right and if he devoured it, his hunger wouldn't change. Besides, his Soul Edge wasn't the real thing. It was created from his memories when Zasalamel revived him sometime after Siegfried sealed both swords in an Embrace of Souls. Siegfried, I will get my body back. He continued on his pursuit.

 

Xaldin summoned his lances and jumped in front of Nightmare

 

"Out of the way, you cur!" Nightmare commanded Xaldin. Even after his last encounter, he's always prepared for a fight. He gripped Soul Edge(Phantom) tightly.

 

Xaldin:So you are the Azura knight lets see what you can do

Xaldin put his lances together and shot a tornado at Nightmare
