Okay, so sometimes when I take a deep breath, laugh too hard, or start coughing, I get this really sharp pain in my upper chest area. Everytime I take a breath, the deeper I try to breathe, the more it hurts. Eventually it goes away, but I don't know that it does until I try to take a deep breath. The longest this has lasted was 30 minutes. Is something seriously wrong with me?
Are you overweight or eat poorly? It could be a heart problem, especially with chest pains. In either case, I suggest seeing a doctor to see if you're heart is okay. Make sure you mention the problems you have up front. They'll also check your blood pressure there to see if it's okay.
I'm 5'6 and I weigh 150 lb, but that goes down to about 140-145 lb in the summer. And its the right side of my upper chest. It actually feels kinda like a rib is slowly cracking, and it hurts when I put pressure on that area.
I get that too sometimes. i think its just something getting caught but if you think its a serious problem then definatly see a doctor. I havent seen a doctor and it hasnt and doesnt happen very often so i dont feel the need to.
Are you in a lot of stress? Sometimes anxiety affects my breathing... Some kinda respiratory problem is possible, like asthma. You might wanna ask a doctor or something, to be sure.
Have you injured that side recently? It could be hurt ribs, I did that once, but if it's right-side chest pains, it could be a problem later on, if it continues, check with the doctor.
I've had this issue ever since I was little, and I don't remember hurting it or breaking anything on that side. I mean, I'm in soccer, so I fall down and get shoved a lot, and I give as good as I get, but I never especially hurt that side. I do have minor breathing problems with my lungs due to minor allergies to dust and mold, but I have an inhaler and take allergy medicine.
I used to have the same problem, but it only happened at night. It was because of these vitamin things I took that boost your immune system that didn't sit well with me. It could be a number of things. You should probably ask your doctor about it.
thats totally normal, cuz right now i took in a deep breathe and it felt like that too. i dont know why it happens but its normal, nothings wrong, that happens to me sometimes, and my sis , its normal
Whoa! Respiratory problems. I suffer from a bilateral pulmonary embolism. That means I have blood clots in each of my two lung arteries. It all started with chest pains. The chest pains soon turned into chest pains, rapid heartbeat, and shortness of breath. You can't find these clots with a normal cheat x-ray, you need a CT scan(cat scan) with contrast(radioactive iodine). It's not as bad as it sounds though. It can be treated with a blood thinner called Coumidin. I'm not saying this is what you have. I'm just trying to point out that you should get checked out.
