The point is, once he had 270 votes, there's no way McCain could win. That's what he means.

A better example would be if you were to have a competition that was 'best out of 5', if you won 3 of those rounds, you win. It doesn't matter if your opponent wins the last two.

Anyway, the result is already clear. I just wanted to mention that.

Hehe, lol, that´s true. He is only half-black, hehe

How old is he? Is he the youngest president ever?

I'm so glad Obama won. Also...he is Black and Caucasian. He is -not- Hawaiian. He was born in Hawaii. That doesn't change his ethnicity which is his father was from Kenya and thus would be African. His mom is a Caucasian and so ..there we go. He is both Black and Caucasian. Because, however, most white people -have- called anyone who has dark skin and is descended from a black person -as- a black person, people are also right to say he's the first black president. That's the way it works.

Regardless, I voted for him because I feel he will do a better job and is cool under pressure. He may lack in some experience, but he's intelligent and he took a lot of crap in this election and still maintained a smooth presence. He also does know things and keeps up on what is going on in the world even if he is not an expert.

I am also glad to see Senator McCain will go back to being an Arizona Senator and perhaps he can once again reach across tables as he likes to say because his campaign moved way to the far right to make some people happy when he used to be not like that. I will be glad to see the old McCain back and saw a bit of it tonight in his closing speech after he lost. He didn't cater to the far right wingers anymore and calmed the crowd at times but yet earned himself some applause as he tried to bring people together. That is the McCain I remember and hope he will do as he says.

As for Palin...send the B home. Oh thank goodness she's out of this. Can't stand her. HOORAY.

Sarah Palin was horrible, lol. Imagine that McCain got chosen and then got a heart-attack : D Palin would be your next president, wouldnt she?

THAT was the scariest prospect of the whole election. xD

  6. I'm really happy Obama won. I went all bazookas when Cali went blue, though it was expected, since they've been Democratic. Once that was done, it was over. Barrack Obama is officially the 44th president of the United States. I see him as a honest man, and isn't one to make false promises, and I'll hold him to that as a person. I do have faith, and he is willing to work with others in the government, and the people.

BTW, his acceptance speech was incredible. We'll be saying, "Yes, we can", for a while.

OMG. Palin. *beshslaps* God, you have no idea how much hatred I have for that woman. I swear. In fact, I would've been more torn between McCain and Obama if it wasn't for her, cause, goodness forbid, if McCain would've died, that poor excuse will be our president. Definitely what scared me off. I'll end my rant here xD.

On forward, I did notice a change in McCain tonight in his speech as well. He was quite graceful and amazing. Maybe if he had done what he did right at the second in all of his campaigns, his chances would've increased.

Still it isnt so cool, when Obama had only one opponent : D It´s like I won someone in a tournament and there was just me and someone else, so that wouldnt feel like victory.

    lol, nvm xD;

Yeah, hopefully Obama doesnt start war to some country for resources, lol. I think that USA attacked Iraq just to gain oil, lol. Why didnt USA just send a commando troop to assasinate Saddam Hussein? Anyway, it sucked to have only 2 options to choose from. What kind of election is that??

Our country has kinda 5 big options til the end, lol

you described it exactly right. think ofit like a tournament.

you start out with dozens of candidates
    those get dwindled down
    those get dwindled down
those get dwindled, until your left with 2, they go for the championship.

edit: ok so dozens is exaggerating a little...but you get what im saying, i hope

    Well, yeah.

Did you know that there were 2 possible plans to assasinate Obama, because he is black? Those were BEFORE he even was president, so imagine what may happen now...

There are always people wanting to assassinate the president. Or even if they aren't president yet.
Seriously, it's getting really annoying hearing this because Obama isn't the only president, I'm sure, that has ever been plotted against for assassination.

I agree. People keep bringing it up and the point is the president or any nation leader has a bullseye automatically on him/her just for that. Whether prejudice is involved or not, there is hatred that will always be there for anyone in a leadership position. If Barack can deal with the stress of it and trust in the secret service to protect him, I don't see why others can't just go with the flow too. I'm glad he won. Part of the point of his message was to not make a decision out of fear and instead do one out of commonsense and hope to make things better. I don't expect drastic things to happen but at least now some will since many flaws of the past few years can at last be addressed. Obama's ethnicity didn't encourage me to vote for him. However, I definitely see the historic connotations it has and am glad to see he was a candidate that was able to make it so far and now he's president elect. The assassination attempts may happen but I don't believe that any of us should panic about it and let it stop the man from being president.

why does everyone think he's going to be assassinated? and it better not happen because he'll become a damn martry (think that's how it's spelled) where people will only think of the good when Obama comes up.

It really disappoints me how many idiot voters there are out there.

    Real idiots.

Not because they voted for Obama, but because the average Obama voter was so stupid that they just filled in the Democratic ticket instead of picking every individual candidate. What the hell is wrong with people... do they really think every freakin republican is like Bush? My God people are just plain idiots. There were a lot of great republican Congressmen and judges that either lost or almost lost, even those who have been doing a great job for many... many years.

As for Obama... well, he won't change much but we'll see.

Wow.. this is still a suprise even though I suspected he would win. I thought perhaps McCain would have been a better leader, but heh, anyone is better than Bush.

Eh..my 'friend' put Swastika's in the school bathrooms and I didn't know about it.

When you think you know a guy,you don't..

Well I'll let the people planning to kill Obama represent themselves, not their race, because not all whites, blacks, asians, mexicans, etc are the same.

i feel that way too. it wouldn't have mattered how McCain campaigned because people blindly followed Obama. it's probably the same reason Hillary lost as well. i mean look at this

    blindly following Obama

i don't think that much change will happen either, but he's welcome to prove me wrong.

lol, true. I certainly think that even if Obama was the biggest moron ever walked on earth, some afro-american would still have voted for him :/ I dont support something like that... Even if it feels like "helping a brother" for the black

    /EDIT:
Evilman_89, the video prooves my point.
