Harley laid down on the bed parallel to the edge, his head resting near her thigh. She liked being close to him. He placed one of his hands over her fists and she didn't try to shake it off. His hands were so large compared to her's. Did all boys have such large hands?

"If you wanna stand on your own two feet, that's fine." he told her, squeezing. "But just because you think you're such a problem for someone else—namely, me—don't mean you actually are. I'll watch over you from a distance, if that's what you want."

She didn't want him to distance himself. That wasn't what she meant. She just didn't want him to feel like he had to take care of her.

"Still, it doesn't answer my question." he eventually said, rolling on his side closer.

    His question?

"What do you want to do?" he asked. Oh, that question. "If you want to go find him, Altair, you can. I'll go with you, if you want."

Heidi shook her head. She did want to find Altair, quite terribly, but it was something she wanted to do alone. Right now, she just wanted to stay here. She was calm and she didn't know how long that would last. Heidi wanted to take advantage of it for as long as possible. "Stay here," she told him softly. Cautiously, she slipped one hand out of his grasp and reached for his head. Heidi hesitated for a moment before setting her hand down on his hair and stroking it. He had done it so many times to her already that she had lost count. She had never stroked someone's head before. His hair was soft under her hand. It felt nice. "I want Harley to be happy too." It slipped out before she realized.

She could hear the beat of her heart in the silence of their room. It was slow and steady. Heidi counted the beats of her heart. It helped her stay present. Her brown eyes wandered the room. It really did remind her of Harley. Did this new Game Master know which rooms they would pick? Did they become like this the moment they decided to open the door or were they pushed to a particular room that was already planned? Heidi didn't usually do a lot of deep thinking like that, but there were things she had caught onto since the last game. How long would this quiet peace last before something bad happened? "Who's going to die first?" she asked to herself. It was only a matter of time.

The first thing that Alex did voice the voice had faded was to look in the desk he happened to be sitting at for the aforementioned key. Just as the voice had said, there had been a key waiting for him. Room 0204. Alex took the key out of the desk and held it into his hand and got up to leave the room. Not only did he not do well in crowds, but he needed time to think. A lot of what the voice had said was still fresh on his mind which wasn't really helping him out.

Using his surrounding as a guide, Alex manage to find his way to the room he was assigned. The door was closed so as far as he could tell no one else was in there. Probably for the best, he could barely handle himself around crowds, but he could get away from them. A roommate would be much harder since avoiding them whenever possible would be kinda rude plus there's whenever they're in the room together. Not much that he could do about that.

He was going to be here all night if he continued to think about what could be on the other side of the door instead of just opening it. Alex mustered up some courage and placed his key into the lock and turned it. Though when Alex had turned the handle to unlock the door, the knob itself turned as well, opening the door. The first thing that he noticed about the room was that there were three beds. Next was that one of the beds were already occupied by someone.

The boy was laying on the bed, flicking his wrist as well as repeatedly saying 'Nope'. Was there something that he was trying to accomplish by just flicking his wrist or was he just bored.
    "Um, what are you doing?"

His meek sounding voice had gotten the boy attention, who stopped what he was doing to look at Alex. The boy then got from his laying down position and looked towards Alex.
"Just trying to see if what that voice said about there not being any magic was true out not."

"M-magic?" Alex couldn't help but to gulp at hearing that. Having a roommate was one thing, but having one that could use magic was a different story. His discomfort at this idea must've been clearly plastered on his face given what his new roommate said next.

"Don't worry about it. Since we're going to be roommates, I should probably introduce myself. You can call me Zephyr."

Zephyr? That was a pretty unique name to his pretty average one. "I'm A-Alex." Judging from the look that Zephyr had given him, the introductions must have gone well. Zephyr then proceeded to hop off the bed and walk towards the door.

"Alright then Alex, I'm gonna head out for a bit." Without saying another word more, Zephyr did just that and walked out of the room. Thus leaving Alex alone to do whatever it was that he wanted at the moment. Right now all he did was walk over to one of the two unclaimed beds and take one for him own. That was about all he wanted to do right now. Maybe later he would actually go and walk around.

Were she honest, the room unsettled her. There was something about it, all of her things being here, that felt so intrusive, as if someone might've taken a peek into her mind and pulled some of the most distant memories and placed them in this room.

She sat at the edge of her bed, violin held guitar style, and plucked out a few notes. They rang clear and clean, just like they would've if she got it professionally tuned. She closed her eyes and plucked a few more notes, trying to ease her blood and brain, trying to be okay in this room, this apartment, this world. But she wasn't.

She plucked too hard and the violin rang out a sour, angry note. She cringed at it and then sighed, setting it aside.

The front door opened and Quin rushed to close her own, laying against the door and breathing hard. Ah, yes, that little detail had escaped her . . . A roommate . . . Somehow, she wished she could have occupied this apartment alone. She didn't want to meet anyone new, she only wanted to be alone and stay alone.

But her innate and undying curiosity led her otherwise.

After calming down, Quin opened the door quietly as she could and slowly poked her head out. There was no one in the hall, and the other bedroom's door was still closed. Soft music ghosted down the hall and she realized someone must've been watching TV in the living room.

Heart rate rising, Quin pulled the door open more and winced when it creaked. She kept still in case she was heard, but then moved a few long moments later.

She crept down the hall and then peered around the wall. A head of teal peeked out from over the top of the couch facing the television, and it seemed to be on some channel playing the music she heard.

Quin bit her lip, pulling back a bit and assessing if she should greet her roommate or not. Not too far from the couch sat a case—and instrument's case, it looked like. Her roommate was someone who also played music? Perhaps they couldn't be . . . so bad then . . .

With a head shake, she took a step back but accidentally bumped into the wall a little too loud before freezing in place.

There was a long pause before Adam spoke, breaking the silence. I know... but... he started, smiling at her, It's really amazing to see you again. That made her smile as well. She looked over at him and watched as Adam closed his eyes and admitted, With all that was done I figured I'd probably never see you again. Especially since you were in Heaven...

    Ah yes, Heaven.

Adam sighed a bit finishing making his tea and taking a sip before asking, So... what's it like for you to be back in Heaven?

Harbonnah frowned at the cup of tea. It's claustrophobic. Everyone is always watching me because of my passed transgressions. She took a sip of her tea and turned to face him. Recently, I have been tasked with helping the Nephilim build some sort of boarding school. It seems I will be tasked with running the place as part of my punishment. I have been forgiven, but the things I have done have not been forgotten. She set the cup down on the counter and ran her hands through her long curly hair.

What have you been doing while I've been gone? I've kept tabs a little, but they try to keep me so busy that I don't usually see. Time meant nothing to angels. Before she knew it, a few years had already gone by. Adam was older now. He looked more defined, more mature. She was sure he had been through quite a bit since they were apart. Bonnie had hated being apart. She basically destroyed his life and for some reason he was still all right with being around her. He should hate her. The fact that he didn't was part of the reason she cared for him so much. Any sane person would hate her. It helped that none of the Fallen were really sane. . .

Shane sat up quickly as he saw another person enter the room. Damnit, he had been hoping the room would be to himself. The less he had to do with people, the better things ended up for them. He got up to say hi, despite knowing the consequences, but just as he went to do so he heard a scream come from down the hall. He walked out of the room, intending to go and see what was happening, but he then stopped; if he got involved, that girl would only have far more to scream about later. Turning to look at Axel, he did his best to ignore the screams. It was difficult for him, but he managed it. "Are you my roommate?" Shane asked simply, getting right to the point.

Pausing for a moment as the newcomer entered the room, Christie bowed slightly in response to Flora, before turning and gently beginning to fix up Veera's injured arm. "I used to have to do this thing a little. I teach, usually. More of a tutor, really, but we have to know these things back at the academy. My name's Christie Yoshiro. Do either of you know where we are?" Christie asked. She finished fixing up Veera's shoulder with the tape, before standing up and walking out of the bathroom and over to her bed. "Because I sure don't" she added, slumping down onto the bed with a slight sigh.

Sven shrugged his shoulders as Cierra agreed to follow him. He was used to it by this point, but as long as she actually listened and called him by his name instead of addressing him as 'master' he didn't mind it. He quited enjoyed their talks actually, on the rare occassions she wasn't speaking as a slave. It wasn't particularly long before they had gotten to Sven's room. "Well, this looks like it's my room. You know, it's a good thing things were so busy back there. You'd think that someone would've noticed a guy leaping over and trying to stab someone, but apparently humans are more stupid than I thought. Some things never change. Anyway, time to take a look inside" Sven stated as he swung the door open. Surprisingly, there was only one bed. Did whoever was there know about his hatred of humans? And if so, how? "Cierra, would you like to stay here with me?" the boy offered.

Lucas hadn't really reacted too much as the man had walked away. He could've gone after him, but it was pointless. He was sort of glad he was gone though, sometimes Isabella gave him a headache and any sort of encouragement certainly did not help. He followed the mad scientist to her room, and when she'd offered coffee the investigator nodded. He needed it, he was sure of it. However, before he'd gotten the chance to have coffee Isabella's roommate was leaping onto the psycho and punching her. Knowing how Isabella was, he wasn't surprised someone had gotten sick of her, especially this girl. That girl was the one who had been in the room they had awoken in, appearing nervous as heck.

Glancing around, Lucas sighed. How had nobody noticed this girl screaming and carrying on? Was he the only one with working ears in the entire building? He stepped over and grabbed Analise before lifting her off of Isabella. He tried not to be too rough, but he did hold her still as he stood up. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't attack my associate. I won't hurt you if you cease your attack, I give you my word. I would suggest taking a deep breath and doing whatever you can to calm down so we can figure this thing out together" Lucas said, doing what he could to reassure the girl. He was glad Isabella's powers didn't seem to be working, with her way of speaking and drawing attention the girl would surely freak out a lot more.

Acele wondered what the guy meant when he gave her joke an F. No one said she had to make jokes that made sense to other people. Well whatever, it didn't mean much to her. Besides, the jokes were more for herself anyways, just to keep her in a good mood. It seemed like the guy was having trouble though, since he kept rubbing his forehead. Maybe he was having a bad day?

At that moment, some strange person kicked down their door and shouted at the top of his lungs. "GREETINGS MY FELLOW ROOMMATES! LET US BASK IN THE GREATNESS OF TESTOSTERONE!"

Acele jumped back and her jaw dropped at the scene. She wasn't sure what just happened, but all she knew was there was a guy with a giant build in front of their doorway. The man with the girl in the kitchen, tears streaming down his face, yelled at the guy in the doorway, and the guy in the doorway just sort of leaped away, like nothing had happened. Acele was in a daze, trying to figure out what just happened. First she had a girl shout and run away out of nowhere, now a guy with muscles upon muscles shows up throwing doors down screaming something about....testosterone? What the heck was testosterone? She was going to need a dictionary to figure that one out.

The guy in the kitchen introduced himself as Alistair. The girl seemed to pat his shoulders and he took it as a sign to leave. She watched as he left her a note and went out their door. She figured she might go and shut it so no one else leaps in yelling random words. As she closed it, she walked over to the girl who was now in the kitchen by herself. Just as she was about to ask the girl a question, she remembered Alistair saying something about her not being able to speak.

"Hoo boy, now how are we going to do this?" She pondered on the dilemma that sat before them. "So you can't speak? Like, at all? You seem to understand Alistair well enough."

Now came the hard part of the day: figuring out what to do with a girl who can't speak, and Acele with her little bit of patience. She needed to figure out how to communicate with this girl, and fast.

Xane stood in the living room of the little home that was now his and his roommate's. Harley had laid some rules about him not being too loud, getting in their way, and other stuff, then walked away. Well, given that he really didn't do much besides keep to himself and train, that wasn't going to be too hard. He walked over to the door that Harley had pointed to and opened it up to see what was inside.

To his surprise, the room was pretty empty, except for a few items strewn about. There was a bed in the corner of the room with a small desk in front of it. On the other side of the room was a wooden practice dummy used for martial arts, and against the bed was Xane's sword from home. He could probably get some practice in on the wooden dummy, but it was too bad he didn't have a companion to fight against. Working on a inanimate object that doesn't move doesn't give you real combat experience.

"Wait, huh?" Xane double-backed and looked at the sword. He didn't have it when he woke up in that classroom, so how did his sword end up here? Well, whatever the case, he now had that with him. Good thing too, because he needed to do his workouts before the day ended. Even if he wasn't in his world, getting lax in his daily training wasn't going to help him get into the military. He figured the best thing to do was start with a few push-ups and dropped on the floor, putting one hand behind his back, and started going down, then pushing up. He didn't seem to have his magic with him in this place, so he couldn't use it once he started getting tired. Xane figured that might be best, since he didn't know how long he would go without his magic. He had gotten so used to using his magic through his training that working out normally might seem like he had gotten weak.

At 100 push-ups, he was beginning to get warmed up and switched arms, working on his other side. He wondered what that Harley guy was hiding in that room of his, since he seemed pretty interested to get back to it. Xane tried not to think about it, since it wasn't his concern and kept with his workouts. He was only getting warmed up and it was already in the afternoon. He had to get started, since he usually spent a good five hours training every day at home, and that was without adding in his daily chores he had to do.

Rilia walked into her room and gasped at what she found. The place looked like it was from inside a palace or something. Maybe this was a normal thing in this world, but where she was from, in her small village, there was never a place as nice as this. There was a giant open space right in front of her as she opened the door, with what looked to be some kind of kitchen to her right. She had never seen such a large kitchen either. There was a giant metal container sitting in there was well, and she wondered if that's where they kept the salted meat. She noticed two doors on opposite ends of the large room and took a look at the one on the left.

Opening the door there was almost as big a space as the room from before. There was a bed in the back of the room, covering about a third of the back wall, with a dresser facing the bed on the opposite wall. There were arrows and a bow hanging around a window, and a desk sitting on the wall to her left. She walked in a little and noticed the room went further in on her left. She turned to her side and noticed some kind of shiny room connected, without any door to keep it separate. She figured it must have been a bathroom of some kind, because she noticed there was a tub. What she didn't understand was why there were pipes coming from the walls around it. There was a sink as well, with a giant mirror on the wall.

Rilia could not believe where she was. Only castles had rooms this large and luxurious, and somehow she was living in it. She felt a little guilty, not wanting to leave it at all. Having grown up in a small village, she always worked hard for what she earned, and it wasn't very much at all. She had joined the war effort to help those that were in situations like hers, and even managed to get chosen by a dragon. Now she was in this strange place, without any magic, and she almost didn't want to go back to that hardship.

Realizing what she was thinking, Rilia slapped her cheeks a little. It wasn't right to even think those thoughts. She needed to help those in need, and that's what she was going to do. Having all of these nice things was a distraction, and Rilia almost wanted to throw everything out. But she realized that while she was in this strange world she should take advantage of what she was given, and decided to just take it as is. If nothing else, she would certainly have an unbelievable story when she got him.

"Thank you." Veera worked to pull her shirt back over her head before standing and rolling her shoulder experimentally. It still twinged, but the tape seemed to support the muscles beneath her skin well enough. "I wish I had a clue what was going on. The last thing I remember was that I was about to die..." She stood outside of the bathroom and leaned against the wall, crossing her arms over her chest. "I guess I'm not sure what's a dream and what's reality anymore. What if you're all figments of my imagination? Or I'm just a part of yours?" The thought was not a calming one.

Teriana raced up the stairs and darted down the hallway towards the source of the screaming. She had left her empty room after changing, only to wander the halls in search of something to do. She passed by people that were deep in conversation, clearly too deep to be interrupted. But her own musings had been interrupted by the cries of a clearly terrified girl, and as she nearly crashed into the room, chest heaving with the effort of her breaths, her eyes widened. There appeared to be three people near her own age (physically) in the room. One was a female, clearly much calmer then the counterpart that was screaming at her. The third was a man, holding the screaming girl in his arms. She clenched her hands before strolling up to him and jabbing him in between the shoulder blades in a painful manner, in order to get his attention.
"Hey mother f*cker. Drop the girl. Now."

Cierra entered the room with Sven, glancing around, taking in what was around her while Sven spoke. The humans had apparently been pretty oblivious, this was obvious due to everything that had happened in the class room. No one even noticed when a girl jumped out the window, or at least they didn't say anything. Cierra couldn't judge that too much herself though because she chose not to say anything either, she quite frankly didn't care. Cierra never knew what humans were up to and why they did what they did, it rarely made any sense to her.

Cierra was drawn out of her thoughts when
Sven asked if she wanted to stay in the room with him. She looked around once more trying to figure out if what she originally thought was true, it was. "There is only one room though. Where would I sleep?" She asked, just as she cringed from the sound of someone screaming not far from where they were, pretty much across the hall actually. Cierra looked around nervously once again. She felt so defenseless without her powers. If there was someone here trying to attack them, to hurt them, she wouldn't be able to fight them, not without her powers.

Walking over to the door Cierra quickly latched the door shut and looked over at Sven worried.
"I can't fight... not without my powers, what if the Warden...." She started to say. Just the thought that the Warden might be there scared her. She kept her eyes on Sven, he was not just her master, but also her source of comfort. She knew him, she knew she could trust him, but it went deeper than that too. How deep? Cierra couldn't tell, she wasn't good at figuring out what her emotions where telling her, one of the downsides of growing up in a prison. She was often quite confused with how she felt, what it all meant, so she simply pretended that it didn't exist. After all it was about the only way she knew how to get through things. If she couldn't figure it out, she ignored it and would hope it would go away. So far this feeling had not.

In the middle of cooking Tinarah heard a scream. This made her more nervous than she already was. The girl was going to try to leave her door unlocked if her roommate that she assumed that she would have, arrived, however the scream made her change her mind. Tinarah quickly ran to the door to lock it, before going back to making her food. She could distract herself with the food she was sure. She wouldn't worry about the scream. Someone else would take care of it, what could she do anyways? Without her powers she couldn't heal anyone or help them sleep or anything, and she was too weak to fight. So she was rather useless here anyways. That meant she was left to her cooking she had started.

Tinarah moved back into the kitchen, humming a tune that she had made up herself. She picked up the knife she was using and continued cutting up various vegetables including carrots, celery, zucchini, and bok choy for her stir fry. The rice had already been turned on, so the young girl turned to the stove to heat up a pan with some butter for the veg. It wasn't long before she was flipping them watching flames go up as she did so, a small smile finally crossing her face. Tinarah enjoyed cooking, she had forgotten that. It had been so long since she had a chance to cook, because the kitchen at SHELTER was always so busy. Soon enough the sauce was being added and the rice was finishing cooking. It all smelt so good, though it still came no where near anything from heaven.

Tinarah sat down with her food, setting out an extra place setting and serving of food just in case her roommate decided to show up. though Tinarah was more than a little nervous about that, it would also be rude if she ate in front of someone else without offering them food first. She would have to at least try to be nice, there was no reason not to. No one had talked to her yet, but so far no one showed any ill intent towards her, so it should be fine. Everything would be okay, this is what Tinarah actively tried to convince herself of as she started to eat her food.

Isabella was surprised when the younger girl tackled her to the ground. "You are a feisty one aren't you? A fighter? This will be even more fun!" She stated as Analise began to punch her. "That really hurts you know." Isabella began to whine after as her face began to sting from being punched more than once. It wasn't long however for her knight in shining armour... er agent in a black suite more like it, came to her rescue. "Thank you Lukey." Isabella said happily like she wasn't even phased by the fact that she had just been attacked. "Can I keep her for experiments Lukey? Please?" Isabella begged over the screams of the girl he was holding.
Analise was thrashing and screaming louder as Lucas pulled her off of Isabella. "Leave me alone! Please just get away from me!" The girls screaming started to mix with sobbing. She was terrified, there was no question about that. The man talked to her in a somewhat calm voice asking her not to attack the girl from before, but she could not agree to that. Instead she still attempted to fight back, thrashing against the man who was a lot taller and stronger than her, as he held her back away from Isabella. Analise could hear the woman asking to keep her or something, that didn't help the situation at all, not in the slightest. "I just want to go back to my room." She begged.

"Oh you can go back to your room, I will just bring my stuff there, it is not a problem! We are going to have lots of fun. I have lots of stuff to test and your brain would be so interesting to examine given the way you react to everything. This will be great. And remember it is all for science!" Isabella explained excitedly as she walked over and poured herself a cup of coffee as if these kind of things were perfectly normal. Turning back she noticed yet another person entered the room, this one seeming to try to threaten Lukey. Like that would work. Lukey was a big strong scary, yet somewhat unintelligent man. He could handle this girl easy. Though Isabella had other idea's too. "Oh would you like coffee too. It would help you be less cranky." She offered to Ana as if nothing was going on at all.

Analise froze for a moment when she heard a voice of another person. This one seemed to be trying to help her, but that was not how Analise saw it. She only thought it another person to make her life more miserable. Could no one understand that she didn't like them, she didn't trust them, and they shouldn't get near here. There as only a select few that she would willingly approach or talk to normally, those were people like her case worker, that had helped her since the day of her arrest, and her psychologist from the hospital. Besides that she didn't like anyone else, though she learned not to fight the nurses and doctors at the hospital either. They had a terrible habit of sticking her with needles when she got too visibly worked up around them, and man did she hate needles.

Analise's mind started to swim with many thoughts, memories of her father, time at the hospital, when she nearly killed the boy when she ran away from home... the police that restrained her in a similar manner to the way she was being restrained now. Analise tried to grab her head. She stopped supporting herself, letting her knees collapse as her body shook.
"Just get away! I can't handle this! Leave! I will kill you all!" She yelled again in desperate anger. The doctors had always said her anger issues pared with her anxiety was dangerous, and this was exactly why. If she could reach anything sharp, she would probably be trying to stab someone by that time.

"Stay here." Heidi said to him, voice soft. Any lingering irritation melted with her tone.

His eyes drooped close when she began running her fingers through his hair. He tried to think of something, but all his thoughts were turning to mush, tired as he was.

"I want Harley to be happy too."

Harley opened his eyes, looking up at her and not sure if he imagined that or not. She didn't say anything after it though, seemed to be focusing on something else, so he sighed and closed his eyes again. It was probably just a trick of his half-asleep mind. He nuzzled closer into her thigh.

This was nice, he thought. All he'd done since he'd gotten here was be bitter and scrutinize everything and be tired and uncomfortable. But like this, with Heidi's fingers through his hair, and sharing the bed, it was like they were someplace they might call home. Someplace where they were safe from everything, like magic and demons and playing fields were just some joke in a sick adventure story.

He didn't know how long it would last.

Heidi seemed to be thinking the same thing. "Who's going to die first?" he heard, and this time, he knew it wasn't just in his head. He didn't reply to it though, he didn't know what to say.

Not us is what he wanted to say, but how could he know that? How could he know that they weren't all under strict observation right now, seeing who'd be picked off. But it wouldn't be them, who could tell anything from how they were now?

"I wouldn't think about it too much." he finally said. ". . . I wonder what the rest of this place is really like? We should do some exploring later." He wondered what would happen before then though.

Lucas ignored the girl's protests as she struggled to get free. She was panicking pretty badly, mentally unstable and potentially a danger should he release her. She knew the conditions of her release, all she had to do was stop struggling and stop attacking and he'd let go, it was as simple as that. He maintained this stance even as Ana jabbed him in the shoulder, flinching ever so slightly but still maintaining his grip on the girl. "No" was his response to the girl demanding the captive's release. He had his gun if things went further, but he would only use it if it became necessary, which at the moment it wasn't. He couldn't release her, however. Analise was unstable, dangerous, threatening death, she was-

"Just get away! I can't handle this! Leave! I will kill you all!"

She was just like he'd been the night of his parents' death. He remembered the way he'd been. Even at nine years of age, at first he had been stoic, unfeeling, and by the end of the night he had arrived at that stage and remained there, but there was a few hours while he was being questioned by the police that the pressure had gotten to him and all his efforts to keep calm and be mature had failed him. He'd been a screaming crying mess, as though he were no older than three years of age or a newborn baby, a child that had lost his parents too soon. It was embarrassing for him even thinking about when he'd been like that, but he could relate...sort of. He'd never had the anxiety that the girl seemed to have or the emotional issues, but he had been in the same state, and maybe that was enough.

He released the girl and allowed her to fall gently to the ground. Restraining her, while it might keep others safe, could make the girl even more unstable. If she proved to cause any more trouble, he could subdue her if he needed to, but she would get a single chance. "I'm trying to help the situation, now if you'd kindly step back it would be much appreciated. If you don't listen to my orders, then I may very well give Miss Te- Isabella an early christmas present in the form of another lab rat" Lucas stated, pointing a finger straight at Teliana. He then knelt down slowly until he was at eye level with the sobbing, hysterical girl. "My name is Lucas Beaumont. I work for the government usually, but here I'm just as clueless as everyone else. I promise you I will not harm you, okay? Even if it doesn't feel it, you are safe here. If you wish to go to your room, you're welcome to; Isabella won't do any of her experiments on you" he said, shooting a quick glare towards the mentioned scientist as if to convey a message, "and I will leave. It is entirely your choice. If I might ask, though, what is your name?" the investigator asked, trying to keep his voice as gentle and calm as possible.

"If the Warden was here with us, I'm sure we would've seen him by now. But if he is here, I'll keep him back. Powers or no powers, I won't let him harm a hair on you, you have my word. You can sleep on the bed while I keep watch, if it makes you feel any better. I don't think I could sleep with all these humans around anyway" Sven said reassuringly. He, too, had heard the scream, but he didn't care if a human was in terror. If anything, he'd probably go to watch. For the moment, though, he would make sure Cierra was alright. Though she saw herself as his slave or at least servant, Sven didn't look at her in the same way. To him, she was a remarkably obedient friend. A very good friend, one of few people he trusted. Never a slave.

Alistair gave Roslind a slip of paper with her room number on it before leaving. He told her to just match the symbols. She looked down at the paper and didn't think they looked too complicated, so matching should be fairly easy. Nodding to herself, she stuck the paper in her pocket and watched as the young blonde girl shut the door to the apartment. The door sat askew in the frame, most likely from the large muscle man kicking it open. She wondered how secure it would be now.

The blonde girl walked into the kitchen to join Roslind and spoke. Hoo boy, now how are we going to do this?

    She shrugged.

So you can't speak? Like, at all? You seem to understand Alistair well enough.

Roslind nodded. I know what you are saying, I just appear to be mute. Not like the girl could hear her thoughts. Her time spent in this land would be quite tiresome. She was already feeling drained. That girl mentioned having taken the large room. Is there another available? Roslind walked out of the kitchen and looked around. She held her hands up to her face and cocked her head to the side, making a sleeping gesture. Ros hoped the girl could understand at least that much.

Harley was silent for a long moment before replying to the question Heidi asked herself. "I wouldn't think about it too much." he finally said to her. ". . . I wonder what the rest of this place is really like? We should do some exploring later."

Heidi nodded in agreement. They would need to see what they were dealing with, and who. She continued to stroke Harley's hair for a minute in silence. Thoughts of the old game crossed her mind and she tried to block it out. She didn't want to remember. She didn't want to know. How much more hardship had they gone through by the end of it? Was it still going on? It's not important.

She laid back on the bed as well, perpendicular to Harley. Heidi's legs dangled off the edge and she draped her hands over her eyes. She was tired too, but her dreams always left her restless. Sleep provided even less control. Her dreams were vivid and painful. She rolled onto her side and looked down at Harley by her leg. Heidi didn't want to know about what happened before, but there was one question that kept coming to mind. Did he win? If anyone could win, it was Harley. "Did you win?" she asked, watching him. Her bangs hung lopsided on her face and she brushed them out of the way.

Upon entering the room, Ken found that there was someone else already in the room. That was fine by him. Ken didn't really have a problem with sharing a room with someone. Least so long as there wasn't a reason for him to not like them. His new roommate had noticed him and started to walk towards him in what could only be assumed as a greeting, but before the actual greeting could take place, a scream could be heard.

The scream was slightly muffled due to it being from above, least that was what Ken had assumed. Naturally he was curious as to why someone had screamed in the first place. Thus he left his room shortly after his new found roommate did and headed towards the nearest stairs towards the next floor.

Zephyr had barely even left his apartment room before hearing someone scream. His eyes were then drawn to the scene that was taking place up ahead. He saw some guy holding a girl briefly before another girl had arrived on the scene and cause the man to drop the presumed screaming girl. In fact the closer he got to the situation things seemed to have calmed down a bit, but still asking couldn't hurt. So when he had gotten to the door that the aforementioned three, four new that he could see the doctor (?) in the room as well, he decided to speak up. "So, what was all the screaming about?"

With a weary sigh, Semyaza spoke, "Well if that is what it is like for you, then I guess you will all just have to suck it up then." She looked around before continuing on. "Though let me know if things are being too much of a headache outside of all of that and I will keep things quiet... though..." As soon as she said that, as if on cue, they heard a booming thud coming from upstairs followed by the faint screaming about testosterone.

    Camilla squealed excitedly. My love!

And you were calling me out for being super excited over hearing Semy's voice. Now it was Azazel's turn to get annoyed at the demoness for making a high pitched squealing noise.

I reeeeaaaaaallllllyyyyyyyy wish I had ears to rip out right about noooooow~ The demon had it about up to here with people and high pitched squealing.

Oh, you can both kiss my ass

Yeah, you'd like that, wouldn't you, you filthy whoooorrree~

Stop it now. I know where this is going, and neither of you are going to go there.

Fine, whatever. Thank goodness things wouldn't escalate any more than that, otherwise her face might've turned a vibrant shade of red, unsure of how to explain the sudden occurrence to the angel sitting close to her.

"I do not know if I can promise that for the neighbors." Semyaza had finally finished her thought. It almost seemed like it took her forever to finish, though that was mostly because of the extra commentary going on in her head. Time seemed to always move slower whenever they started to fight amongst themselves.

Suddenly, a growling came from the angel's stomach. Joslyn couldn't help but giggle at the idea of an angel getting hungry and needing to eat. Semyaza got up after her stomach growled. "Are you hungry? I can cook up some dinner. Even a light one if you are not up for anything huge."

"Oh, you don't have to b-bother. I'm sure I could m-make something for m-myself. B-besides, I'm not even th-that hungr-" Before she could finish her sentence, a loud gurgling sound came out of her stomach. Her face flushed with embarrassment, she couldn't help but try to laugh it off sheepishly.

Oh, honey. You shouldn't try to act so tough, and you shouldn't reject someone's offer of kindness. To be honest, she couldn't even remember the last time she sat down to have a proper meal. Besides, you really should eat. With how frail you look, you could stand to get some food in you. The angel let out a hearty laugh as Joslyn buried her face into her hands.

"You don't have to say it like that, Azazel..." She felt a hot rush of embarrassment continually wash over her as she sat there with an empty stomach.

Adam listened to her about the Nephilim school, he thought that was interesting considering he remembered hearing something about Heaven hating the Nephilim at some point. Maybe they wanted to just keep tabs on all of them in one place. Adam sipped his tea and heard her question and said, "I have been travelling around with Brandon and Min... um... Barachiel and Remiel. And we've been going after all of the stray demons that are still around, especially in the U.K..." Adam scratched the back of his head and said, "It feels very redeeming in some ways... though I have the feeling it's not gonna matter what I do at this point... I have a feeling something is gonna happen after I die..."

Adam stared at the cup of tea and sighed saying,
"I know it may seem stupid of me... but I don't fully blame you for destroying my life. You were just the first one to start pulling me down..." Adam shrugged and said taking another bite of his sandwich before saying, "It was my fault for the rest really."

Semyaza heard her talking to Azazel and ignored it, considering for the most part that was what Adam would do sometimes when talking to them. Semyaza pulled supplies out and said, "Alright, but if you change your mind do not be afraid to say anything. I will cook as if for two." and they started cooking. They weren't the most amazing chef and they would admit that any time since they never really cooked, but through observation they were pretty sure they figured it out. Though their ability to multitask was thrown off since they weren't used to being without their powers yet.

Semyaza was making spaghetti, because they were pretty sure they couldn't f

Teriana opened her mouth to respond to the perceived threat that Lucas had aimed at her. Instead, she folded her arms over her chest, watching with softening eyes as the man talked gently to the girl. He had given off quite a different aura, and she had judged him wrongly. The woman...Teriana didn't like her one bit, and shot her a glance before turning her head to notice the newcomer. "I wouldn't mind knowing myself." She added to his question, feeling something prick into her side. Shit. She pressed her hand to the spot, feeling the sharpened steel she had forgotten existed. My dagger. It seemed some things transferred into this world after all. The dagger had been sewn into the folds of her shirt, exactly where it would have been placed in her dress. The only problem was, as she dropped her arms, was that she hadn't known it was there. Inconspicuously reaching a hand into her shirt, she pulled out the dagger, wincing at the sight of the tip. It was stained crimson, and she tucked it into the waist band of her skirt, carefully positioning it so she could avoid gutting herself, unless she bent over. Looks like I'm gonna need to change again.

Tessa stopped, listening as the scream perforated the walls. Her hair stood on end, and her hands clenched into fists. "Did you hear that?" She asked Ze Operator, hesitating at the foot of the stairs. They had already passed by her room, but she hadn't stopped to grab her leather gloves, which had been sitting on the dresser. She wished she had, feeling the loss of the familiar smell and the feeling of her fingers encased in some sort of protection keenly. "I hope there's not trouble already." She murmured, tossing her hair over her shoulder to look behind her nervously.

Isabella started humming as more people entered. Apparently no one wanted her coffee, that was okay with her. There was a problem however, the girl screaming would bring more people and that wasn't good. There had already been two people arrive since they started screaming. The more people here the more likely it would be that she would have to share her coffee with someone. So despite Lucas' warning she started something. She grabbed a cloth from the kitchen, bleach from under the sink, and some alcohol, and poured it all on the cloth. Isabella then hid the cloth as she approached the group that was surrounding the girl, looking as innocent as ever. "What is happening is that I tried to be nice and shake her hand and she began to freak out. So I offered her coffee and she freaked out more and attacked me. The girl is obviously a nut job." Isabella stated.

Analise tried to avoid looking at anyone around her, but this was made difficult when Lucas bent down to her level to speak with her. She didn't look up at him, instead she kept her eyes to the ground as she held her head. He asked her name, and though she didn't know if she wanted to tell him her name, she spoke up anyways "Analise." She said in a quiet, scared voice. He worked with the government, that was okay, so far she had no issues with people from the government. They were helping her with the issue of her fathers abusiveness after all. This question was followed by another, this time from another male voice. Someone else had entered the room as well, that was just great, exactly what she needed cause she wasn't panicked enough. "She got too close... I warned her not to. But she came to close. It was her own fault." Analise tried to explain, though her a hysteric, scared voice. She was still crying and still holding her head, wanting to scream but couldn't find the strength too anymore. Her entire body shook and though she wanted to go to her room, but couldn't stop shaking enough even to stand, much less find the strength she needed to do so.

"Yeah yeah, who are they going to believe more. Me? The one who was trying to be nice? Or you, the crazy girl." Isabella stated as she pushed Lucas to the side to get closer to the girl. "Excuse me Lukey." She stated cheerfully as she pulled out a cloth from her pocket and shoved it in the girls face. "There you go. No more screaming, nighty night." Isabella said as she held the cloth with her chloroform that she made with house hold items, to Analise's face waiting a moment before the girl stopped shaking and completely collapsed to the ground. "Now that she is all quiet I can enjoy my coffee." Isabella skipped off to pour herself a cup, not at all caring that she just knocked a scared girl out in front of three other people. She was being too loud so that was what she deserved, simple as that.

Sven tried to reassure her that it wasn't the Warden, and even if it was he would take care of her, protect her, but that would still be hard. He also had offered up his bed and said he wouldn't sleep. If there was one thing that Cierra knew, it was that the body needed sleep. When she was in jail, for the first while she was too terrified to sleep, but that quickly caught up with her and started messing with her body. "I won't take your bed, you need sleep too." Cierra told Sven. She wanted to say that she would just go to her own apartment, but in reality she would prefer to stay with Sven. There was a lot more comfort being with him, and she knew that he didn't judge her for the chains she wore, unlike others might. When evening came they could figure it out, until then she was kind of hungry, one problem though was her lack of ability to cook. "Um, is there any food?" She asked seeming somewhat shy to be asking about it.

Bonnie watched as Adam sipped his tea before answering. I have been traveling around with Brandon and Min... um... Barachiel and Remiel. And we've been going after all of the stray demons that are still around, especially in the U.K... Adam scratched the back of his head and she pursed her lips. The heavy flow of demons in the U.K. were all her doing. It feels very redeeming in some ways... though I have the feeling it's not gonna matter what I do at this point... I have a feeling something is gonna happen after I die...

Her brows narrowed. Adam had no reason to be concerned with death already. Taking out some low level demons wasn't life threatening. Now that the real threat was over, it should have been fairly smooth sailing. Then again, spending a couple years trotting the globe with Barachiel and Remiel could make even the most sane of angels want to do away with themselves. They were obnoxious enough on their own, when they were together it was even worse.

Adam stared at the cup of tea and sighed saying, I know it may seem stupid of me... but I don't fully blame you for destroying my life. You were just the first one to start pulling me down...

    She sighed.

Adam shrugged and took another bite of his cucumber sandwich. It was my fault for the rest really.

Bonnie pushed her cup of tea away and reached for Adam's sandwich, setting it on the counter. She wrapped her hands around his wrists and smiled apologetically. I may not be fully to blame, but I still take responsibility. We were all given our assignments and I chose you. I may be in Heaven now, but once a Dark Angel, always a Dark Angel. I can't undo what I did, but I truly did enjoy our time together. She shut her eyelids. Harbonnah had never felt the genuine desire to cry before. Every time she had done it in the past, it was always an act to further her goals. She fought back the urge and inhaled deeply. As much as I may regret it, I'm glad I chose you.

She opened her eyes and smiled at him. You've grown even more handsome by the way. I'm sure you've broken a number of human girl hearts in my absence. Bonnie kissed his cheek before letting go to pick up her coffee cup and take another sip of tea.

Altair remained sitting on the ground, the side of his face still stinging from the blow he took. He stared up at the stranger that had entered his room and narrowed his eyes. Taking a good look at the man he could tell that this man was not Demetri. The young man before him has the same tanned skin tone as him and had an eyepatch, yet even so the man looked so much like a much younger Demetri. The face, the hair, even the beard were all similar to the old man. Just when did this man appear? He swore he closed the door and locked it, but looking past the man he could see that the door was opened. The gun was no longer in his hand anymore as it had fallen out of it when he collided with the ground.

He had no use for the gun right now, he definitely had no desire to shoot the man before him, nor did he desire to commit suicide right in front of another man. There were no tears in his eyes anymore, his eyes were cold and calm as he stared up at the one eyed man.

    “Stand and fight me…”

Altair was dumbstruck by the man’s words. The man came here to fight him? The man was crazy and Altair did not desire to deal with him. “I refuse” Altair said slowly standing up however another blow assaulted his face. Unlike the last one Altair was able to stay on his feet, but the pain was still immense.

“I’m not giving you a choice...fight me” the man said sending another punch from the other side yet the teen took the punch and remained silent. “FIGHT! I’m not letting a coward like you get away this easily!” The man yelled as he sent his fist straight at the teen only for him to catch the fist with his hand.

Altair was quick as he caught the fist and used the other hand to punch the man before him right in the side of his head. His body moved on its own, a force telling him he could not stand what this man had to say, that he wanted to prove to this man that he was no coward. Where did such a resolve come from? He had momentarily given up everything he had no desire for anything yet here he was fighting. His mind wondered why he fought yet his body just moved on its own, it all just felt so familiar to him.

“Tsk…atta boy…but you’re going to have to try a lot harder than that!” the man said with a smirk as he sent another punch at the boy.

The blow hit, but Altair took it and sent another blow at the man. What happened next was just another brawl between the two, sending punch after punch at each other. All the frustration, the anger and sorrow he held, he placed it in his fists as he began to punch the older man.

“Keep on punching! Get it all out! Punch a way your frustrations!” the man yelled. Truly it was not the most elegant way, but even so Altair gritted his teeth as a small smile appeared on his face.

“I see, this is why you wanted a fight? Don’t screw with me old man!” Altair yelled as he sent another punch fiercer than the others. The powerful punch sent the man falling downward and he himself fell down due to fatigue. A punch holding all the emotions he held in for so long. He tried so hard to understand others, but more so tried his best to understand himself. Why did people care for one another, why did they hate, love or feel sorrow? Such things he desired to understand, he desired to see what drove other. He used Heidi and her other personality and as such it was unforgivable. He had no right to face Heidi now…

Altair panted heavily as he rested on his stomach. Looking before him he watched as the old man slowly stood up and walked up to Altair. Moving quickly he rose to his feet ready to fight once more but his eyes widened as the man placed his hand on top Altair’s head and smiled softly.

“You idiot…running off to kill yourself when you had all that bottle up inside…I’m sick of it…seeing people die...” The man said closing his eye. “No more holding it all in! Don’t you dare think about suicide you damn brat! If you need somebody to get rid of all your woes…if you have nobody…Then come to me you bastard! I’ll beat you down so that you have no woes! Enjoy your life, correct your mistakes and release all that you have bottled up! Don’t let it destroy you IDIOT!” the man yelled. The man’s eye widened as his arm was tightly grabbed by Altair’s two hands.

Altair continued to hold the man’s arm tightly, his hands and knees shaking before he eventually fell to his knees, still holding the man’s hand making sure the man was still holding his head. His eyes were closed and his head was lowered as tears ran down his face “damn it all…It’s so difficult…but…I…I can’t give up…not yet” Altair cried out, letting his tears run free. He felt an embrace so familiar to him, the man before him hugged him tightly as if a father comforting his son.

“Idiot...just shut up and cry it out” the man said

“You’re the one who should shut up you bastard…” Altair said

"Oi call me Julius you dumbass" the man said.

"I prefer bastard..." Altair said. The tears continued to run down his face, but a small smile formed on his face. It all just felt so familiar to him...like meeting an old friend he hasn't seen in a very long time. Though he grieved, this familiarity helped him out.

Heidi was quiet for a little while. It gave Harley a little room to rest.

Floating between consciousness and sleep, he felt her shifting around on the bed and vaguely wondered if she was restless.

He wondered; what were they supposed to be doing here? It'd been a while, it felt like, and they had no instructions. No hints. Were they just supposed to live here now or something? Just live a second life, by their second chance? He had know idea where anyone else came from, but this was . . . almost too good to be true for him and Heidi. A second chance.

    "Did you win?"

    Harley paused.

Did he win? No. Come to think of it, he doesn't even know what happened. They sorta just . . . stopped existing. He remembered . . . Talking to Madeline, being in the van, running away yet again, trying to get someplace safe (but he was honest: there was no safe place for them,) and then after that . . . Nothing.

". . . No." he finally answered. "I didn't. I don't know who did either." He just knew it wasn't him. A small part, such a small part, hoped it was Quin . . . After she disappeared with that Devyn chick, they never heard from her again. They assumed she killed her. But Quin didn't have what it took to win. She was too soft and thought things through too much. She didn't have it in her, especially not when someone like Madeline existed.

He shifted to peek up at Heidi and almost thought about asking her what happened to her . . . He remembered escaping in the van to that secret base Vanille had, or whatever, and then after that . . . No. He didn't want to ask. If she asked if he won, then she didn't and she—

He didn't want to think about it too much.

He rolled over onto his back and groaned. "This is so depressing." he almost complained, playfully patting on Heidi's thigh. No, he didn't have time for being sad. He had to focus. They needed to survive.

    ". . . I'm hungry."

There was a long pause and Heidi could already predict the answer. If it took him that long to respond then he didn't make it to the end. ". . . No." he finally answered. "I didn't. I don't know who did either."

There were a lot of them left when she died. She thought of Madeline and Elliot again. Did one of them win? As much as she hated them for killing her, she kind of hoped one of them had won so that her death wasn't meaningless. Heidi watched as Harley rolled over onto his back and groaned. "This is so depressing." he almost complained, playfully patting her thigh.

Her cheeks burned and she looked away. It really was depressing, but she didn't know what sort of conversation to have. They were fighting for their lives and now they just weren't. How were you supposed to just flip gears like that?

You know a thing or two about changing gears.

    ". . . I'm hungry."

Heidi lifted her head. It sounded almost childish to hear Harley say he was hungry after everything that had happened. As if to agree with him, her stomach growled noisily and she sat up. When was the last time she ate something. "Food is good." Her body felt sluggish, like she had just finished running a marathon and all of the spent adrenaline was taking its toll and standing was impossible. She pushed herself onto her feet.

Before getting food, she wanted to go to the bathroom. She walked across the room to the attached bathroom and shut the door. Heidi stood there, facing the mirror, and breathed. She was doing good right now. Images flashed in the mirror and she shut her eyes. They weren't there. Her small hands wrapped around the edge of the counter and she rocked back and forth. It was okay. She would be okay. They would eat and find Altair and then come up with a plan. They could protect themselves this time.

    You don't honestly believe that.

She needed to believe it. Heidi opened her eyes and noticed a small white paper bag sitting on the counter by the sink. It had a pharmacy tag on it with her name printed in small black letters. Her heart fluttered in her chest. Shaking hands reached for the bag and tore it open. Inside was a familiar orange medicine bottle with a white cap. She read the label and her expression soured. It was her prescription. Her medicine being here was even more disturbing than Harley's CD's. She fumbled to open the lid and dug around for a pill. The bottle said it had a thirty-day dosage. Was that how long they had?

Heidi dry swallowed the pill and closed the bottle. Balling her hand into a fist around the bottle, she opened the bathroom door. "Harley," she called for him, "I found something." She approached the tall blond boy and held out the bottle for him to see. "It's my medicine." She didn't know why it was here, but it would help. She would be okay for a little while. When she had her prescription, the voices were almost nonexistent. Heidi was able to live relatively normally.

She wanted to believe this place would be a second chance, but the odds of that were slim to none. They couldn't be too complacent. That's how the earliest ones died.
