This is the first thread about the event that shall not be recalled that hasn't made me more disappointed in this site's community.

 

The Spam Zone was where the shitstorm happened last night, and the participants of said shitstorm will be more likely to see it here than in the News section. I like the idea of making it an announcement, though.

 

That says a lot of this forum then, doesn't it.

Nothing good.

 

CTR will still pay for the Mediafire service. As for the user portal, it got deleted because Vidiac is now powered by magnify.net and they deleted all the old account, including ours. Finding a solution or a new host will take some time.

Because people aren't smart enough to look there.

 

That's good, but I want to know: Why not Spdude? With the profit of the site, he could easily fund the service. Isn't CtR essentially giving him cash?

 

My theory is that spdude cannot multi-task, and I fear that if we ask him to pay for something he'll forget about the permissions thing.

 

Well at the moment we aren't getting either.

 

I hope things calm down for everyone and though some people have mixed feelings and are pretty angry, we can all move forward from this. If anyone is really distraught or ticked off, I am willing to talk to them in PM regardless of where they stand on the issue. Just, let's try to move our asses forward and understand that though some things were said and done, we all can get over it and get back to normal. We're all better than this. I know that. What happened was a blow out that never should have gone so bad. I'm sorry I wasn't here and was out of town because I missed much of it and really I'm just shocked so much went so damned bad. Let's pick up things and get moving back to where we ought to be.

As for Pika's concern and others who asked: The staff are working on ways to get things better and back to normal. We're working on a way to get the user portal and video scenario fixed but just give us some time guys because whatever we do, it's going to cost us and we want to make sure we find a solid reliable place for anything we do. Yes, CtR has paid for the cut scenes to be hosted and everything is fine on that end for the time being. Let us figure out what we're doing and we will keep you all informed as we can.

 

Yeah, I've no doubts that the staff will take care of it in some way or another. But I want to know why it is coming out of your pockets when this is Spdude's site and he reaps the profits from it. Surely paying for services that draw people here is his job?

The reason is because spdude owns this site but Deathspank had the hosting to the user portal. The user portal hosting site was dropped because the company folded and was merged with another company. DS may have been notified or not, which we cannot really verify, but needless to say, this is why the videos are gone for now. I've been investigating as have some others and we will find a new location for videos and such. As said, once we know what we are solidly doing, we'll let you all know so we can move things forward on this and get things back to normal.

Interesting. So DS didn't hand that over to Spdude when he sold the site.

But my question was about why he isn't paying for the cutscene archive. (Or was that in DS's name too?)

This whole series of events made me really dissapointed in KHV. Alot of you guys made extremely shameful statements, from both sides, and overall, I think it's really stupid. It's a Kingdom Hearts fan site. It's really quite sad that you guys have to be like this. And what's the point in all of it? We're hurting each other and ourselves through these sorts of actions.

 

Last night is seriously best left as people made some poor choices all around and **** happens. It -is- a Kingdom Hearts fan forums and for things to get so serious and lame happens but eh, it'll work itself out. We all have our 'stupid' moments. I'm not going to bother questioning in the end why it had to turn out so bad. I don't think we need answers other than some people on either side of the fence were offended while others took it as a joke and at the time it wasn't a good moment for joking. Look forward past stupid moments and now we see what happens every now and then when things go too far.
