I think the forum area would b better if u got a msg sayin when some1 has replied to ur post,or ur rep has raised,stuff like tht......u know? :silence::star-wars-smiley-02:starwars:

Um...that's what the User Control Panel (that heading up there that says "User CP") is for. :huh:

One way to do it is going through the Additional Options that are below you when you're posting something. Go to the drop-down menu under Notification Type. It'll contact you either via E-mail or...

After you subscribe to a thread, check your User CP constantly. It'll show you your rep and what threads have been updated.

So...yeah.

 

There's also e-mail alerts.

Hey! So yea I loved the notifications abuot visitor messages. It's awesome! I thought about Birthday notifications though. Like Myspace. They always notify you of an upcoming Birthday. Lately I felt like doing that for some time now but I can't keep track of all my friends that has their birthday coming up.

Is is a good idea?

 

Aren't there like, thousands of members? and don't they all have at least one birthday?

 

Well, it won't be too hard just to look at the bottom of the page and look at "Today's birthdays" and the birthday notifications just condones laziness. I say no.

Also there's the calendar, it shows when people's birthdays are :3
Calendar also has a reminder feature, but I think it only works if you add an event. (Reminder is up to 3 days, plenty of time to prepare for a b'day :3)

maybe it could only notify you of a birthday of someone on your frineds list. that makes it less agonizing.

 

^that is very good!^ Good idea! No offence, but I only discovered the calendar yesterday, literally! The coming b'days for our friends is good. I agree that for every single member's birthday to be notified would be too much of a hassle. the friends idea is good though. good thinking!

Plus some people change their birthdays every single day >_> I personally would get irritated if every single day I got notified that X member was having a birthday xD


Nice idea, but it doesn't really work on a forum <3​

 

There is a calendar and also an announcement of birthdays at the bottom of the forum so I don't think this is necessary. I don't really think it's a good idea because it would get rather spammy. We have a lot of birthdays and some people even change their birthdays so it is a nice idea in one sense but also really I think it would be too annoying after a while.

 

This doesn't look like a terrible idea. Though are we just limiting it ONLY to birthdays. (not that I can think of any other needs for it =/)

 

We are going to say no to this, at the end of the day despite the appearance xD we aren't myspace =P

We are still KHV =P

Added to this is the fact that some members change their birthdays more than they change their socks >_> and it would get incredibly spammy and irritating after a while.

Email notification of Visitor Messages.

I think this will be a nice addition to the list of options if it's possible.

 

I don't think this is really necessary, since you get notifications of visitor messages and other things already when you log on to the site. But I guess it's not a bad idea if you don't check your notifications. =/

 

agreed. I know I probably wouldn't use it, but some others might find use of it.

 

it already right now shows up i the top corner, that's enough for me. But i guess if your on another tab and an e-mail pops up saying you have message, that would b helpful.
