As some of you may have noticed, a number of our stickies have disappeared, some members who should not have been banned were, and your post counts may have dropped. The unfortunate explanation is that we were hacked.

Things were not nearly bad as last time, though--the stickies were all that were completely lost, and we are working on reposting and/or restoring them. All members that we have found to be banned during this time have been unbanned. If you or someone you know was banned during this time, please contact one of our staff members.

We realize that a number of you have lost posts and we apologize greatly. If there is anything we can do we will, but it seems a bit impossible at the moment. If any Premium Members have fallen below the 1000 post mark because of this you will retain your membership. If for whatever reason the server removes you, please just let an admin know.

Additionally, if you guys are concerned for your account we advise you to change your passwords. This guide can help you.

If there is anything you find that looks suspicious or is missing please let us know.

We're extremely sorry for this and want you all to rest assured that we are taking steps to tighten security around here and to bring things back to normal.

    Thanks,
    The KH-Vids Staff

    Wow... That's just terrible...
Is there any way to figure out who's been doing this stuff?
Because I would like to advise them to get a life.

I wouldn't worry about it guys. At least they didn't take down the site completely or anything like that.

Hackers are you losing your standards?
Seriously, hacking stuff is just so common in any form, just go play with yourselves hackers, or get a job.

Yeah, that's what I've heard too.

But yeah... from what I have established, this was more like a warning this time...
I mean, they didn't do any super serious damage from what I am aware.
So they're either just messing around for a 'not-funny' joke.
Or they're intending to warn us for now and come back later... :/

That is the basis for my guess anyway.

I just hope they don't, or that we don't get hacked again. PERIOD.

From what I can gather, I believe it wasn't a deliberate attack on the site personally, rather we were an easy target for them to practice on. Which sucks for us, but at least it wasn't malicious against us.

    AGAIN.

Well, that's good, at least. *hopes this is the case*

And don't the staff back up the site like once a week now, after the last time?

I do believe it was a warning. Whoever it was made a sticky saying, "up your security, I'll be back." Lets hope we can fix this before it's too late!

Actually I noticed one difference.... My post count went UP. I could have sworn it was below 590 yesterday and I posted one thing yesterday.

Scare tactics. I don't think it was a genuine warning. More something they said to cause a reaction and make people afraid. Obviously I am not suggesting we become complacent, but I don't believe we have anything to genuinely worry about from them.

It is a good enough place to start. Precisely because there is nothing really to gain by hacking us. So if it had failed then it wouldn't be that embarrassing or whatever for them, as opposed to if they took on somewhere bigger and more "important" and it went wrong.

Indeed, at least such an attack was not as horrendous as our previous victimization by the first hacking attack. The staff are conducting quite a wonderful job repairing things as well, it would appear.

This is the second attack, however - is there indeed such a way to increase the general security standards of the forum, or are such attacks unpreventable in themselves? Understandably however, this section of the year in general has been one filled to the brim with large amounts of hacking.

I'm gonna ask here that you guys don't post comments in this thread like "let's kill them" or "get a life"; while it is probably a shared thought among us we don't want to give them incentive to try it again and do more damage.

But yeah, if anyone notices anything strange, please let staff know as soon as you can.

That was an account used to retrieve a password I believe, but either way it wasn't from the hack. The current Jay has a really similar username, haha. Thanks though. :]

This. It's not like this was a Sony level hack, or like it was last time...

Be glad it was as minor as a few posts, UNs and stickies and that it wasn't the whole damn site again...
