No Thanks Nostalgia rep weekend?

What about having pages instead? I think that would be a better choice.

 

I'd say +1 to this. Mainly because of all the problems and unavailability of the user cp thing. An annual one would be nice.

I was not here for this event (if I can call it that) last time...so I'd like to see it happening while I am active. So it's got my support.

 

The original suggestion that led to Nostalgia Rep Weekend was for paged rep. Unfortunately we couldn't find a mod for that. I'll poke around again since it was a while ago, but I doubt there is one (at least not one compatible with our version).

EDIT: Just checked and didn't see one. So paged rep is currently a no-go.

 

There weren't any major problems with it (at least that I remember) aside from the fact that it wasn't collapsible or optional. The only problem would be the gifs/videos thing in rep, but that problem would still be there regardless of how often or when it's done until those specific things get removed (hence my previous suggestion)

Back when it was originally suggested, there was fear of User CPs and the site as a whole lagging because of the size of the page when viewing rep, but almost nobody reported having any lag problems.

 

Ah, that makes more sense. Since I wasn't here last time I wasn't quite sure of how to rate the lagging problem. This clears it up. Thanks mucho mas.

 

Yeah, lag isn't an issue really since it didn't cause an issue last time, and we are on a whole new super awesome server now. So yeah, I seriously think it wouldn't be a problem. Anyway, I'm a +1 for this.

I had talked to RvR after it was over and the threads were locked to find out the verdict on making it permanent and, if I recall, it all depends on making it optional on a member-to-member basis.

 

I don't mind having it an annual event; I suppose we'll shoot for the second weekend in March. =]

As for those who know they have had reputation comments with auto-play videos/gifs/anything else, if you let me know I can edit the comments to not have them. I know I've told one or two people to stop leaving them in the past, but it would obviously be a lot of work to go through every person's rep ever and find the auto-play vids, haha.
But if you know you have them I'll be happy to remove the auto-play, gifs shouldn't lag your computer -too- bad, as long as there's not too many of them.

 

Could you just edit out the autoplay part for mine? I like the videos, but not the autoplay.

 

That's usually what I do, yes. If you'd like the entire video removed as well I'm fine with that, I'll probably just change it into a hyperlink.
