So I went to see Beauty and the Beast (in 3333DDDD) with my friends last night. Not as amazing as the Lion King *cough*, but it was still great. Obviously they had to do it in 3D because the screen could not hold Gaston.
Before the movie started they had a short from Tangled about their wedding and it was hilarious, almost worth going just see that.

Only wrong thing is that the next movie they're bringing back to theaters is Finding Nemo. Great movie and all, but has it really been long enough to put it back in theaters?(If it is I'm going to feel old...) I'd rather they rereleased the Little Mermaid or Aladdin first, but meh.

Deary you need to keep up with these things. xD
I'm not sure if it's out in Ireland yet, but whenever it does come out it's only going to be out for 2 weeks or so. It's like Star Wars back in theaters, life completing things!

Everything is 3D now! Holy crap! I want to see Beauty and the Beast 3D! I keep seeing previews.

I agree that the OLDER OLDER movies should be made into 3D first, not movies that are almost ten years old. I really want to see Aladdin in 3D since it was one of the first Disney movies to have a little bit of CGi. It'd be really cool to see that updated.

Man, Disney is both sequal generating monsters, as well as 3D-remake monsters. I mean, are they going to do every old disney movie they made in 3D? It's not a bad thing, but how come they don't work on any other movies? Although seeing Aladdin or Little Mermaid in 3D might, and I use that term loosely, be worth seeing in theaters

A college roommate and I plan to see this. We watched her DVD of almost religiously when we were together at school, it's one of our favorites.

But I agree on not doing Finding Nemo just yet. I'd rather see Aladdin. Can you imagine the Cave on Wonders scenes in 3D?

My guess is they're taking the most successful renaissance films (Disney 1989-1999) and re-releasing them... In Threeeeeeeee Deeeeeeeee

Perhaps because it's not the Spamzone. :P

I miiiight see it with some friends at university. And if it's still in theatres during reading week, I'll be seeing it with my sister. c: It's her favourite Disney movie (and of course I love it too, but not my absolute favourite). Can anyone help me out and guess if it'll still be in theatres on the weekend of February 18th?

I'd rather not go see this. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Beauty and the Beast, and I am a HUGE fan of 3D, but I don't think those two should be together. I didn't go to see Lion King in 3D, but recently, I was at the local Costco, where they had a 3D TV showing the Lion King in 3D. I decided to see how the 3D worked, and I was not impressed. It just didn't feel right. I believe that if the movies are drawn in traditional 2D animation, that's how they're supposed to stay. CGI animated movies like Finding Nemo, on the other hand, actually would make sense to convert to 3D since they weren't drawn in traditional 2D. Of course this isn't a guarantee that the converted 3D for Finding Nemo will work, but we'll have to wait and see.

By the way, I'm VERY surprised Disney didn't decide to re-release Aladdin in 3D considering it is a popular movie from the Disney renaisance.

If they made this into 3D I wonder if they plan on making the Christmas one into 3D. I used to own that one, so that's really what I remember the most from the Beauty and the Beast story

I'm going to to have to go with no.. The Lion king was only in theaters for 2 weeks, so unless this one is different or it sells well enough to stay in theaters it'll probably be gone by then. Best bet would be to call said theater if you'd like a definite answer.

    As a sequel?

    Or in 3D?

I'm hoping it's the first option.

I cant wait to go see Beauty and The Beast in 3D! Although, when i found out about the whole Finding Nemo in 3D, i knew they officially ran out of good movies. I mean, it's a good movie and all, but come on. Why is EVERYTHING coming back out in 3D!

    It's in 3D.

Yeahhh, no. It's just plain ol Finding Nemo(a good movie, but I'm not excited to go see it in theaters..think I went the first time actually.)

Worse still the next movie they're doing after that(around this time next year) is Monster Inc!? What's up with that? There is no way it's been long enough to bring that back in 3D, good or not. It won't be until September of next year that The Little Mermaid gets rereleased, I am disappoint. B|

Fantasia in 3D, that would be a good movie. The original one was amazing!

I actually have no problem with converting old movies to 3D. My problem is that they're converting tradtionally drawn 2D movies to 3D. Now something like Finding Nemo in 3D I'll actually consider watching because the movie is CGI animated.

There are a lot of Disney movies I would rather see in 3D than Finding Nemo at this moment.

    Like...Aladdin.
