Today (October 8th, 2008), there was quite a surprise for me at TGS: No More Heroes 2. I actually didn't expect a sequel, as much as I wanted one because sales weren't that great in Japan, but they were excellent in NA, and that made me unsure of what to expect from Grasshopper, if they were just going to go ahead and make their 360 game or if they were going to continue the story, or if they were going to do something else entirely.

Damn, you beat me to the chase of making a topic. But yeah, when I saw that on GameTrailers, which so happens to be my source, this morning, I completely freaked out. To be honest to God, I was even screaming on the inside like a fangirl. Even if I am of the opposite sex.

With that said, I can't wait for more info to come out then what is already given. Love the new beam katana, by the way. Actually looks like a katana, y'know. I bet this game will go wonderfully for the sequel.

And plus, for the sequel, they didn't give it some cliche title at the end of the title for the game. "Desperate Struggle". It's got a ring to it.

Well, I got the link from Antihero last night, so I went ahead and made topic. And I don't think it is a new beam katana. It looks awfully familiar to the Tsubaki Mark III. What really caught my attention though was the boss that was shown. And because Travis is now
    the first ranked assassin.
I'm interested in how the game is layed out because in the first you had to run around, collecting money to fight the next ranked assassin, but in the new one it's
the exact opposite. What I'm assuming is that they come to you. But that's the tricky part, because how does the game progress?
And I like how Travis's shirt says "Travis Strikes Again." 8D

That's something I noticed that was funny about Travis.

Each and every other day in the game, he always has a hilarious shirt on.
I do believe he had a "Party" shirt and a "Bulls Eye" shirt in the game.

    Found some more stuff, guys.
According to this PDF, NMH:DS, will be released in America in January and in Europe sometime in February-March. And oddly enough, it is yet to be determined if a release in Japan is possible due to the game's low sales.

    Details:
    - First time Grasshopper is doing a sequel
    - Wanted to make another game with Travis
    - This time Travis is fighting for revenge
    - He’s going to get really serious about fighting as opposed to the first title
    - The team that worked on No More Heroes 1 is also working on the second game (same character designer, mecha designer)
    - When they made No More Heroes 1, they felt they had one of the best teams for a Wii title so they wanted to make another game with the team

They were mixed. IGN thought it was crap and some others did too, but the majority praised it for it's originality and unique gameplay (even if the controls got dull after awhile). I would say to try it out for yourself. It's 30 bucks, so it's pretty cheap for a video game.

They should move this game to the Playstation 3 or XBox 360. Then, it would probably be better.

I never liked the Wii's interactiveness with the controls. I'd much rather have a normal controller in my hand.
