Well, the Kingdom Hearts story wouldn't even come to be because they come up with the idea when Square Enix was sharing office space with DISNEY in japan. The Kingdom Hearts plot, music and characters would just wither away because Sora per say, was mostly made from mickey, would started DISNEY Hence, the saying 'It all started with a mouse'. The plot of the first game is saving DISNEY princesses. And since without the first game there wouldn't be anymore games, DISNEY technically started the plot . The bosses in the game are controlled or are DISNEY villains. The music is biased off of some of the DISNEY tracks. Plus DISNEY is a big company, and they could advertize the game to very high levels, and they may even make a Movie/Musical of Kingdom Hearts. And frankly, only DISNEY would make a musical about a boy with a giant Key.

How the **** are we suddenly talking about non-existent musicals? o_O

    OK, more seriously:

No, that's not the question: WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF KINGDOM HEARTS REPLACED DISNEY CONTENT WITH ORIGINAL SQUARE ENIX CONTENT, story and gameplay-wise?[DOUBLEPOST=1352769223][/DOUBLEPOST]You guys make me feel like an idiot, lol. >.<

Ummmmmmmmmmm. No. I get a sense of nostalgia with it and it gives story. It is always a nice tone to be apart of the magical Disney story then just watch it.

No, if you replace everything Disney in KH it would be totally different and it wouldn't be the same anymore. I can't imagine a KH without Mickey, Yen Sid, Donald, Goofy, and every other disney character. Yes there may be times that they become annoying, but that's what makes them, them. They're part of the KH universe and changing that would change KH forever.

I literally picked the game up because of the Disney characters. At the time it was really foreign to see anime characters with Disney. After kingdom hearts its practically natural.

Now that you mention it, how come no one ever ask for Enix characters ?
Turns out Xion was recruited by Leneth. XD

What kind of blasphemous thread is this? The original KH cast is great, organization/heartless/et cetera, but the games would be nothing without the Disney element. As stated it would just be a Final Fantasy incarnation. Honestly I'd like the series more if they went back to Disney being more influential. The first game was all about the Disney villains being the backbone of the game, it goes into the Ansem/Xehanort part at the end, but it wasn't like the second one where Maleficent shows up with doofus and cackles a tad. KH 1 will always be my favorite because of the bigger Disney element, even with the Organization's un-involvement.

Then meet Birth by Sleep, (specifically Terra's story) though not as great as an influence Kingdom Hearts 1.

How did DURADURA! get popular in five seconds? O_O

Yes, I liked BBS allot more because of that (among other reasons). While it wasn't the level of involvement seen in the first developed game, the Disney cast had more influence. This is opposed to COM, KH2, Days, and DDD. I'll give coded a pass because I haven't played it, but I'm aware that Maleficent is the primary antagonist in that one. What level of influence Disney's villain cast has in the 3rd KH (2069) is what I'm wondering.

Crimson and myself are the only people using Durarara avis, was meaning to use an Izaya theme for awhile.

Today I learn to love Kh characters and possibly could play a whole game whithout disney characters (but would miss them), but I must admit If it wasn't because of disney I would never start playing KH... I played before just to play with Donald so...
There are a lot of "Darker" games around.. the series do great with the right amount of darkness and childshi nostalgia.. is the contrast of the two worlds that makes Kingdom HEarts what it is... the thing that no one expected to work, but worked greatly.

Not every game needs to be pessimist, or too dark to work, like not every story that needs.. If you think about it Star Wars sagas is all "family film" there is nothing too strong to be show.. sure there were games of Star wars that were more "Darkside" like the unleashed aproach, but the main series was always "for the family".
I think is preatty childish to only wish for darker games.. is like when you are 14 years old and wants to be trated as an adult and only sees things like horror movies, porns, or whatever to "try to look older than you are", and don't care anymore to child things because you are "grow up" like there wasn't any value to it.

I think it's just you, for me, it was so interesting and fun seeing Disney characters, like Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, in FF-like, and earned a new like in the Disney movies that are featured in the games. Like everyone's been saying, KH would be another FF snip-off with original content. To be honest, it's because of Disney, I like the games.

I'm not saying it has to be darker. It's just I never really had a "Disney" childhood, so I don't get any nostalgia from Mickey and gang, thus making me less interested in them in Kingdom Hearts. Keep the same tone, just no Disney.

Plenty of people didn't grow up on classic Disney, but still enjoy the games. And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if people started watching the older movies (or any of the other Disney movies for that matter) after playing the game because certain characters interested them. In a way it's like bridging a generational gap, I'm almost 20 and still love Disney/KH and over the summer I worked with kids who were 7 and loved Kingdom Hearts too. Obviously they weren't around when the majority of movies originally came out, but one told me he started watching them because of the games.
Otherwise, yeah, it would be just another FF title spin off. After a while it starts to get bland, and let's face it, KH is pretty unique in terms of ideas in the gaming world. People think Disney and they think all happiness and kid stuff, but when you really look at the story for KH...it's kind of far from it.
