I don't think Nintendo is improving the gaming experience, I think they are offering something different. The one's that are improving the gameplay experience are the developers that maximize their games within the confines set by the consoles and controllers.

At this point, I buy Nintendo consoles for Mario, Zelda and Star Fox. Give me another Zelda game, Super Mario Galaxy III and an open world Star Fox title and I'll buy the WiiU. Nintendo is one of the only developers where it's guaranteed that they'll put out quality titles constantly. The major ones at least. Ditch the required motion controls and I'll be happy. Until virtual reality is possible, I'll stick to my controller.

I agree. Games like TWEWY would not have been the same had the DS not been around. I feel like Nintendo has now tapped into the market of "Casual" gamers and they are gonna wanna keep that market. As for improving the experience, that could mean simply making the WiiU ground breaking like the Wii. But that doesn't mean they are going to focus on new, exciting, hard core titles.

    We will see I suppose.

When it comes to Nintendo, they will usually rely on 3rd party to make hardcore games. That's pretty much Ubisoft's goal at the moment.

Just like The Fuk? said, I don't really care about much of Nintendo beyond Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, Super Smash Bros., and Mario. Assassin's Creed 3 is also going to be for WiiU, so they have my attention. Until I know what titles will be available on launch day (here's hoping a Zelda game, like TP with the Wii), I'll keep my Wii.
