Just found about this like 15 minutes ago. I was seriously surprised that they'd release another type of DS so soon but considering how it's 3D I'm not that surprised. If everything at the cinema is now in 3D I suppose it was a matter of time until Nintendo hopped on yet another band wagon.
Though, I do like how it says you won't need 3D glasses. Hopefully, that's true.

I JUST got my dsi so I'm pretty pissed at this. If the 3D function is interesting enough I might sell off my dsi and get this new one I guess.

Well it comes out in a year, so at least you didn't buy a DSi and then a month later this thing comes out.

Looks interesting, I'm assuming that this is basically a stronger DS that has 3D capabilities and can probably support better graphics, right?

I took a look at the DSiWare game footage they'd linked and suddenly burst out, "Oh, that's clever!" because... well, it actually rather is. The little web-cam on the handheld seems to track the placement of the eye and the in-game camera shifts in tune. :) 3D without the glasses indeed!

    I only wish they stopped bringing out handhelds so damned fast, though. I still have my DSPhat, and it's still completely serviceable. ;_;

hmm... I seem to recall a similar "head tracking" feature for the wii (or at least I saw it on youtube). It does look quite 3D, though.

Anyway, I hope they'll still make non-3D games. I too still have a DSPhat.

Merlin's pants! A new handheld! -_- *wonders what Sony will do to copy it*

    What? Now this is interesting.

I find this interesting. And it says that it is backwards compatible. Does this mean it will have a GBA slot?
    ... no comment.

this sounds actually really promising, but i'm pissed because i just got my dsi. i'm definitely getting this if i can trade my dsi in for it, and only have to pay a little bit more, but i'm not gonna buy it if i can't. though i think it will be necessary to have if nintendo only makes games for this now and the 3DS games don't work for ds/dsi.

When I first saw it, I thought, "Early April Fool's Joke."

It still reeks of joke to me, but now I don't know what to think. I suppose I just have to sit back and accept the fact that the DS is getting old. That makes me feel old.

It's interesting, to say the least.

I wonder if there's any incentive to this 3D gaming, or will Nintendo help usher in this phenomenon like they did with motion controls? Hmm.

Apparently it's as powerful as the Gamecube. I don't really believe that but we'll see at E3.

Is anyone else a bit terrified of the thought of Mario bouncing off the screen at you? ._. srsly what's wrong with regular screens.

I kind of agree with this.
I understand how 3D is glorious and all, and I'm all for as high-tech as we can get, but I just don't think every damn game needs to be in 3D.

    Oh Christ, here we go.

Y'know what? We exist in 3D. It's actually impossible to take a break from it. The least they could do is allow me the illusion of it and keep my games 2D. I'm really sick of this gimmicky bullsh**, can someone in the business just make an actual game instead of shoveling more of this crap down our throats?

No it's not, it's a f**king rumble feature! Did the world hit a time warp or something!?
