Nine Kingdoms: Forever War

Bheliar quietly made his way through the land, but he soon found a city, and curious as to his own where abouts he decided it was best to go in. The demon then changed his appearence to that of an ordinary human, and casually walked into the city.

 

“Oi” someone shouted at Bhelair, a man who had a mug of ale in one hand and a stick in the other walked over to him, well more stumble but he got there “What are you wearing? Better question where are you from?” the man asked almost falling over.

 

Bheliar saw the man and could immediatly tell he was intoxicated. "Well, you look like you've had a lot to drink! Are you feeling alright?" Bheliar went over to the man and tried to help him up and keep him steady.

 

“And you are clearly drunk, wearing clothe like that, where are you meant to be from, one thousand years ago” the man said as he laughed and fell over passed out.

 

Bheliar wanted nothing more than to end the mans life. This demon had gone too long without tasting blood in his mouth. However, his duty derived his action and he simply left the man where he was and continued on his journey.

 

Mya frowned, but shrugged and went back to grab her stuff and apologize to the priest. "Sorry for the trouble. Please don't blame him." She walked back to Alastair and his dragon. "Judging by her attitude, I'm guessing it's a pretty young dragon."

 

“Maybe its best you don’t know and just keep moving with your life if you feel someone is after you” Kenton said “Maybe your parents did something wrong and you may have to pay the price?”

“More of a teenager, but she’s hot blooded, moody and vicious, a winning combination, also doesn’t help that she can rip anyone in half without much effort” Alastair said as he walked next to Alyssa “Anyway, Alyssa this is our new travelling companion, who’s name I have been to rude to ask” Alastair said gesturing towards Mya “Travelling companion, this is our ride who is called Alyssa, which you might have picked up on before”

 

" If I owed someone a debt they would have gotten me when I was still vulnerable . . . they probably want me for something else. Maybe you are right I should start trying to live my life and stop worrying. " Suri said looking at the city below and the people moving about it.

 

Mya laughed and shook her head."It still acts like one. Anyways, you can stop calling me travel companion. I'm Mya. And nice to meet you Alyssa." She gave the dragon a small pat on the head.

 

Bheliar crept through the cities, and then when he wasn't in the cities he ran faster than ten men combined. Truly, his might was incredible, but well maintained. Bheliar made his way through Seraphim and into Vain. He travelled quickly through Vain too until he eventually came to the outskirts of the Ungrate Desert. Bheliar stopped here and backtracked a little to a town near the outskirts of the desert. Once there he kept his appearence of a man, but changed his clothing to appear more ragged. Bheliar then stumbled into a local bar and immediatly screamed out that he needed water desperately before collapsing on the floor.

 

“Unfortunately you picked the worst time to have your epiphany, you know being conscripted and all” Kenton said “Hungry? The great hall should have some food about now” Kenton said leaving Suri.

The dragon looked away from Mya as she introduced herself, “Ah, I think she means it’s nice to meet you to” Alastair said as he blatantly lied as he mounted his dragon and offered his hand to help Mya on.

 

"I know . . . but who knows I might come out of this ok, so I can't loose hope now." She said moving away from the rail and standing up straight. " I guess I am a little hungry, is Richmond already down at the great hall? He isn't in bed." She thought to herself as she walked back inside.

A man sat at the bar, hooded in a black cloak, he was drinking a glass of strong liquor and seemed unphased by the fact some ragged looking guy came rushing into the bar near death. Everyone else in bar including the bartender rushed to the mans aid, except the hooded man. He only smirked and chuckled under his breath, his pale ,long, slender hands and fingernails the only thing that could be seen of his body.

 

Some men lifted him up and took him over to the bar, where the bartender immediatly gave him water. Bheliar drank it up with no haste, even spilling it over himself a little. "Thank you for your kindness!" Bheliar had exclaimed "I have been out in that desert for fifteen years now! You see, I was on a mission from my king and-... Oh... OH no! I don't even remember which kingdom! Well, I was out there and my men and I were ambushed by some knights! They took a royal letter! They thought they had killed us all, but I survived! Found an oasis and have been there ever since! I recently got enough supplies to go out on my own, and barely made it here! And it is good to be back in civilization! Thank god!" Bheliar's lie was well made up, and well acted. Even another demon would believe him. Bheliar then began asking questions on the current events of the world.

 

The man at the bar just kept sitting, draining the poison from his glass till it was empty. He seemed not to take notice or care about Bheliar, he appeared to be totally stoic throughout it all.
" Interesting tale . . . " Is all the man said in a gentle yet monotone voice that was as fluid and soft like that of a noble. It was the only response he had for Bheliar's story.

 

Bheliar did not pay attention to the man, only to the more sympathetic occupents of the bar. They told him everything! Everything and anything he wanted to know. They were all so gullible... Once Bheliar had gotten all the information he needed he began to focus on the evil he had sensed nearby. "I thank you all for sharing this information with me!" He addressed the people "It's been so long since I've had contact with others. Perphaps you..." He pointed at the man "... might be able to converse with me while we drink?"

 

" Why would a blistering bright ball of energy like yourself, want to speak to a uninviting and icy man like me? I don't look like I could strike up a conversation do I?" He said with no emotion at all as he leaned against the bar in front of him .

 

"Well, it's always been a belief of mine that the quiet one's are usually the most interesting. Am I right?" asked Bheliar.

 

" I guess you are right, the quiet ones are interesting. Though if you want to have a truly interesting conversation, we could speak somewhere where there isn't so many eyes and ears. " He said simply as he petted the ring he wore which had a dark blue stone in it.

 

"My, that sounds like a splendid idea!" said Bheliar. "You lead the way out of here."

 

" Alright lets go." He said getting up and walking down a adjoining hallway that had a door at the end that lead to a room he had been renting since the bar also served as a inn for travelers. The man walked inside and waiting for Bheliar to come in and then he shut the door. " So what brings a demon like yourself all the way out here . . . and why is the animal outside of his cage in the first place?" The man said as he took out a wooden pipe and he began smoking some kind of weird substance that didn't seem man made, a dark purple smoke seeped out of the end and seemed to have its own shimmer to it. The smoke drifted out the open window but once outside it seemed to be invisible.
