Nine Kingdom

The demon looked at everything going on in surprise and shock. A human standing up for him? How could this be? "I... I thank you." The demon was shocked to hear himself say. "I can't believe you helped me. I figured no one would help a demon... I am forever in your debt. I promise that if anyone attacks you, I will defend." The demon paused before going on to say "By the way, my name is Bheliar." He shuttered at the sound of his own name. One that he figured he would never mutter to a human.

Vitan could feel the world spinning. He felt dazed and confused. Where was he? Was he flying? Vitan could suddenly feel himself moving up and down as if he was in a carrige or something. Vitan couldn't make it out. He opened his eyes and then closed them due to the brightness of the world. Then he opened them again and looked up to see Alastair was carrying him. "Huh? You?" said Vitan to Alastair.

 

“Yeah, it’s funny, you push my food onto the ground, you get a meal for a month, you try and kill me and I save your life, let’s stop all that” Alastair said as he entered the Inn, he took Vitan to the room Suri had got them and laid Vitan down on the bed “How are you two feeling?” Alastair asked as he was concerned that the day’s events may be too much for the two of them.

 

"I've been better..." Vitan answered frankly. He realized that he had gotten hit with the dragon's tail, but after that everything sort of went blurry. Almost like he had fallen asleep right there in the sands. But it was different. It was like the memory had just stopped and then looking up at Alastair is where it started. It was all so strange for him. Vitan guessed it was the pains and losses of defeat.

 

Suri entered the room with some food in her arms after running off quickly to buy something to eat from one of the pubs. " Oh hey... I didn't expect you back so fast.... Its nice to see hes awake.." Suri said as she set the food down on the table in the room. " Where is that other guy?" Suri asked looking confused that the man was absent from the group.

 

"He is a demon, thus he won't be travelling with us anymore" Alastair said bluntly "By the way, I'm Alastair Trios, who are you two?" Alastair asked, realizing he didn't actually know their names, or if he did he didn't remember them.

 

"Oh..." Vitan was shocked, although he hadn't even seen the man yet... or demon... Regardless, Vitan introduced himself "My name is Vitan." he said "It's a pleasure to meet you, and thank you for taking care of me for as long as you did. I know I owe you for a lot of things."

 

" My name is Suri... I'm a sorcerer's apprentice. . ." Suri said with a sad sigh when the word sorcerer rolled off her tongue, it brought back memories she wish would stay hidden. " I can't believe that guy was a demon... he didn't see to be the type..."

 

"Its okay, they never seem like demons until its too late" Alastair said "So what are your plans? Are you two together or just randomly meet up?" Alastair asked curiously "If you two want you can travel with me"

 

"Uh..." Vitan recalled meeting Suri and taking her along to help track down Alastair, but now that the Saradi Kingdom had been extinguished... What else could Vitan do. He was now an outcast. A remnant of a cause. But Vitan refused to let that cause die with his country. Vitan wanted to defeat the empire. "Well, as long as you are against the empire and not for it, then I would be happy to accompany you."

 

" I was in the Saradi Kingdom, visiting with my master, Alux... He went off to take care of some business and I stumbled across Vitan..." Suri said as she sat down at the table started to pick at some grapes that sat on the table. "I guess I could join... the cabin I live in is far off so its too dangerous to return on my own.."

 

Mya nodded. "Well bet Bheliar. Since this is somewhat of a situation you're in, feel free to stay in here as long as you like. I do want to warn you that if the priests come back, refrain from talking to them. Let me handle that. They're not strong enough to detect a demon from glance, but they can sense one if you talk too much. With all that being said, what brought you and that other "pleasant" man here to Vision?"

 

Bheliar attempted to sum up his story. "I can assume that they all came from the Saradi kingdom. I was only making a stop at the kingdom when the empire attacked. I found them out in the desert being shot at by an Emperial air ship and held it off until they could take me here. Now I am tired and weak from the trip and would like to rest. Would you know of anywhere I could sleep without being harmed?"

 

As soon as the man left, Drei let out a sigh of relief seeing as they avoided a pointless battle. Still he seemed to be overly resentful about demons in general. Still he remember seeing Eins but not said anything about it during the incident and since it was over, he wanted to talk to him now. Though it seemed that he'd too had left.

Eins had followed behind Alastair a bit after he'd left. There wasn't much he had to say to Drei at the moment so he figured to wait it out, at least he knew where he was. Once he gotten to the inn, he walked in and spoke. "Sorry I'm late."

 

Alastair was surprised when Eins entered "Oh" Alastair could be surprised "Well, I'm Alastair, this is Vitan and Suri" he said introducing the other two "And who are you?" he asked Eins.

 

"You can call me Eins." He replied.

 

"I'm sorry about your friend Eins, I wish I could have saved him" Alastair said as he stood in the middle of the room "Tomorrow I will head north and get a ship to Aria to fight the Empire, do you wish to join me?" Alastair asked, he knew they had agreed to join him already, but he wanted to be sure that they knew what he planned to do.

 

Vitan thought about things while Alastair talked with Eins. He wondered where he would go next, what he would do next. Vitan had never been out in another country before.

Bheliar looked at Mya and waited for a response.

 

Mya sighed. "Well it seems I don't have much of a choice. You can't just wander around town. Sooner or later, someone will find out. I guess you should stay here until you're ready to leave. There's a basement here that only I know about. You can rest there for the time being."

 

Bheliar bowed to her. "Thank you. I am forever in your debt." Bheliar then walked down into the basement and lay down on the floor. He passed out from exhaustion...

Vitan looked at Suri. Vitan knew that he wanted to do anything in his power to stop the empire, but he wasn't sure if she did. "Hey, Suri, would you be willing to come with us to fend off the empire? I can understand if you want to do something else."

 

" Of course I will help... even if my master taught me to be neutral . . . I have to do something about it. If the one who's been like a father to me all my life died as a result of this I have no choice but to fight in his memory..." Suri said with a sigh.
