Nine Kingdom

The man quickly jumped back in shock. The put his hands in the air, in a surrendering position. "I am weak and practically beaten. I have nothing to fight you with. I understand if you are suspicious of me, I can only give you my word that I am for everyone among us and against the empire." The man quickly said hoping to derail Alastair from attacking any further. The man kept on his toes for another possible attack.

 

"Cut the crap mage, you used dark Magic back there, where did you learn it?!" Alastair shouted at the man, he readied for another attack "And if you are a demon in disguise don't think this is a normal blade, this is Twilight Sacrament, a sword forged centuries ago to kill demons" Alastair said hoping the man would not react the way he feared he would.

 

The man's eye's widened a bit. "My, that is certainly wonderful. I'm sure the blade is made of excellent craftsmanship. I am not a demon, however. I simply learned dark magic from the empire. But I can explain! I come from Serephim, yes. But most of my family was in Saradi. I went down into Serephim for studying purposes. There I learned dark magic. They have been teaching it in schools. I have become very skilled with dark magic while fighting the Serephim army on many accounts. I watched my family get slaughted during the attack, and then ran away. Got out of the city and that is where I met you. I swear it!"

 

"I see" Alastair said lowering his blade "Then you won't mind being cut!" Alastair said coldly as he went to stab the man in the shoulder.

 

The man darted out of the way. "Stop! I doubt anyone likes being cut." The man simply stated. "I know I certainly don't. Now, please, stop this. If you are this uncomfortable with me, then I will simply leave. I offered my services to you, but you seem persistant in trying to harm me in one way or another."

 

"If you truly a demon I can not let you go, seeing as you refuse to prove me wrong I will cut you down" Alastair said, it was a bluff but he said it with such cold determination and indifference that anyone who didn't know him would think he was serious "But if your not a demon then this blade will only hurt a little, then the lovely lady here can heal you, but if you refuse you die"

 

The man's attitude seemed to change from fear and anxiety to anger and courage. "I refuse to be struck at all. I helped you, and then you helped me. I don't owe you anything. And I refuse to be struck at all. I don't have to prove anything to you." The man then got into a defensive position. This boy is determined to strike me. The man thought I am weak and will not last long in a fight against him. I must find a way to disaude him or escape and think of a better plan.

 

'I never owed you anything, I was free and clear, if anything you put my life in even more risk by making me save you, because of you running to us I was forced to leave someone behind, because of you there was to much weight and Alyssa was slowed down. Now you refuse to prove you are human!" Alastair yelled as he readied. "Why would anyone other then a demon refuse to prove their human?" Alastair asked "I have no reason to trust you, so one last time, prove to me your humanity or be cut down right where you stand!"

 

The man growled a bit. "Very well..." The man lowered his defenses. And extended his right arm. "You are right, if anything, I do owe you. However, if you are going to cut me, not in the shoulder. Cut my hand." The man opened his palm and extended it to Alastair "I want you to cut my palm instead because I don't want to take a chance of you cutting me down when I'm an arm short."

 

Before anyone could react Alastair grabbed the mans wrist and held it down on a table, he held Twilight Sacrament in a way that instead of cutting he would stab the hand. Quickly and efficiently the blade came down and stabbed straight threw the mans hand, the blade glowed as Alastair pulled it out and faced the man.

 

The man felt excrutiating pain from the blade and screamed out as he pulled out the blade out of his hand. Blood came out of the wound. The man quickly threw the blade to the side and then turned to Alastair "You... will pay for this." He then went up to the healer hoping for a quick heal before Alastair noticed anything.

 

Mya quietly watched the conflict between the two guys until her irritation broke through and slammed her hand on the table. "Stop it! Both of you! You're not here to prove whether he's a demon or not. To be honest, I don't care! You just think you can ask me to heal someone and expect me to heal another person just because I can? What am I? A healer bent to your use? How shallow are your views on us? I've had it with you. Both of you in fact! Bickering like children! If you want to continue, do it outside!" She hastily gave the man a quick heal before kicking open the door. "If you're done here, I suggest you leave." She meant it for both of them, but she was giving Alastair a cold stare.​

 

Both Drei and Ein's had the exact same look on their face, she was scary when she was angry. Fortunately he was smart enough to know who not to tick off. She was definitely going on the list of people not to anger.

 

"I'm sorry but get away from him" Alastair said quietly, looking at his sword as the glow slowly faded, he gripped the hand "All demon must die" Alastair added and then looked at the man "Including you, demon" Alastair said as he swung again, he was serious this time, he aimed to kill the man, or rather, to kill the demon.

 

Having enough of this, Mya stepped in front of the man, pulling out her sword and deflecting his blow away from him. "I'm not the one to interrupt things like this, but you're going too far. True demons are creatures wrong in all sorts of areas, but YOU need to think! You're a thick-headed brat! All you can think about is killing off him! Think! Just because a tragedy happened due to a demon does NOT mean they are all bad! Stop thinking like a brat and look at the big picture! Stop assuming and be logical!"

 

Alastair’s attack was deflected but he spun around and almost stabbed the girl, he stopped himself “Out of my way” he said coldly and quietly “What do you know of tragedy caused by demons? It was demons who destroyed the first human empire, they took the people as slaves and left the land as a frozen wasteland, it was demons that almost killed off the dragons, and it was demons that destroyed their own creators. History has shown over and over that they are monster better to be put down then left to live. Anytime a demon is left to roam good innocent people die, trust me on that” Alastair said coldly, though bits of anger slipped through as he spoke “Now move aside or I will make you move!” Alastair yelled.

 

That was when Drei stepped in. "Look I don't know much about the fall about the first human empire, but I do know that there's no point of having a pointless battle here. Now put do your sword." Even though he'd manage to speak in a calm voice, he was fully prepare to quickly draw his sword if needed.

Eins was shocked by the situation before him though mainly about how Drei was acting. The last time he'd saw him he would never take a stand like that, but here he was now.

 

"I know too well of what they can do! I've lost countless friends and family members to their hands. I do not deny that, but what you're saying is that a whole race is condemned just because of what a few did! Are you saying that? Are you standing at a point where you would assume the face of a nation or race just because of an action one person or group did? Perhaps there are good and bad demons. Are you saying we humans are better than them? I deny that. If not, worse than them. We think we have the hand and hammer to strike justice wherever we can only to realize we only spread fear and tyranny to our so called "enemies." You're views are shallow and you are denying the truth. If you strongly believe I am wrong, then go ahead. Take my life. It's more difficult to change the mind of a stubborn man than to win a war by yourself."

 

Alastair smirked as he cleaned his blade and sheathed it, this girl was crafty even if she didn’t know it, and he couldn’t help but be impressed and admire her for it. “If I stabbed you in a last ditch attempt you could kill me as well, or while my blade is stuck in your body that filth will have a perfect chance to finish me, and I seriously doubt those two would just stand by and let me kill an innocent person, or let me get away with it” Alastair said as he turned around and picked up Vitan “That demon is your responsibility, anyone who dies by its hands is on you, and you alone” he said as he left the monastery, taking Vitan with him. He headed to the inn he passed on the way in.

 

Mya stared at him coldly until he left. She then sighed and turned back tot he rest of the people. "I'm sorry you guys had to experience that. I'm...very expressive when it comes to the topic of demons. I want to say something, but in this time, all it does is brand you as a traitor. I won't be surprised if I'm wanted b this afternoon. That man would do something like that. I don't care." She sighed wearily and sat down. "Anyways, I've done my little job. Anything else I can do for you guys?"
