Nine Kingdom

The town the group entered was mostly empty and quiet, except the Tavern which could be heard across the whole town.

Meanwhile at the Sealed Isle at the Citadel the Emperor sat on his throne, all his available commanders sat at the war table in front of him arguing over what the best strategy for finishing of Aria, each one wanting to gain favour and be promoted to the official rank of General. A messenger quickly ran in and bowed before the Emperor and his commanders “Your Majesty, General Harold Fol took the Aria Empire’s capital three days ago, but unfortunately he lost his life in the battle” the messenger said. The Emperor waved him away as he looked to his commanders “So, we now have a vacant spot and we are in need of someone to become the eleventh General of the Aria invasion, I would give it to Kenton but he is not here so who among you will take the spot?” the Emperor asked his commanders.

 

Atrox pushed the others aside, walked up to the Emperor, and knelt before him "Your majesty, it would be my honor and pleasure to serve you in this way. I pray that you give me the power to please you with endless victories in your name." Atrox had been forming his words carefully for some time now and was thankful when he didn't mess them up. This had been the opportunity Atrox had been awaiting for so long. The chance to finally command armies!

 

The Emperor sighed as Atrox kneeled “Why am I not surprised that you jumped up at this opportunity” The Emperor said standing “Leave us” the Emperor said to everyone else in the room. The other commanders and the guards hurriedly left the room. I have a few conditions before I let you take command, first you are not being promoted, not until you successfully conquer Aria, second, no slaughtering innocents, or mass destruction of the remaining cities or using captured women for your pleasure, if you follow those instructions a General title and lands will be yours” The Emperor said “Finally there is a woman in Aria, she carries the crest of the Dragon Peaks, she and her son are to be brought Alive and Well to the citadel, that is all” the Emperor said waiving Atrox away.

 

Atrox smiled. "Thank you, my lordship, I will most definently keep my impulses under control." With that Atrox walked out of the chamber, and once he was out he began running. Atrox ran down the streets until he got to a bar where his horse was tied up. He quickly ran inside, grabbed a drink without paying for it, saddled up his horse, and took off. He rode his horse to a settlement outside the city and in the settlement were men, and lots of them. Atrox had gathered men he deemed worthy for battle for just this occasion. "Saddle up boys, we're heading off to war!" All the men shouted and got on their horses. The men all followed Atrox, seeing him as their leader. And Atrox was headed to the front line to see what tactics he could pull off to give him his general rank that he deserved for so long. He rode to one of the Empire's signature airships and all the men followed him. The rode up onto the airship, horses and all. Atrox went up to the pilot and said "Take us to the Aria frontlines. The unknown man carried Vitan on his back and examined his surroundings. Save for the life located in the tavern, everywhere else seemed to be desolate and silent. The man looked for signs of life anywhere else but there were none... It could mean two things: A party or celebration of some kind, or maybe something more vile. "Some of us should stay outside while the others go in and negotiate. I have a bad feeling in my gut." said the man.

 

" Maybe I should go in... I can use magic after all..." Suri suggested as she looked around at the sights of the town. "Why is it so quiet here? Are they hiding ?" Suri asked.

 

"Why are you two so suspicious?" Alastair asked confused "Its getting dark, most of them are probably at the tavern drinking or at home having dinner, these small towns are like that. We should head to the monastery" Alastair said as he lead the way.

 

"Sorry, a little shaken up after what we just experienced." said the man. He then continued to follow Alastair to the monastery. The town was, if nothing else, quaint. But much too silent for the man's liking.

 

" I'm sorry, I just sensed something was a little off about this place is all..." Suri said with a sigh as pulled her arms back under her cloak and followed him with a slightly cautious stride.

 

"Here" Alastair said passing a pouch of gold coins to the mage girl "Go book us a room at the Inn or tavern while we take this guy to the monastery" Alastair said leading the mysterious man in a different direction.

 

The man continued to follow Alastair "I trust that you are taking this boy to the Monestary for healing purposes?" The man asked, proding for information about what was so special about the building they were all heading to.

 

"Of course, he took a dragon tail straight to the gut, then caught in an explosion and finally dropped on the ground, he is dying" Alastair said "Why are you so concerned?' Alastair asked the man.

 

"Am I out of place for being concerned for my fellow man?" said the man. The suddenly he coughed and decided to correct himself "...Or should I say my fellow man that is not in league with the empire." With this the man continued to stay silent, simply following Alastair.

 

" Alright, meet me up at the Inn that we passed back a while back .." Suri said as she turned around and wandered off with the money in hand.

 

“No, you’re out of place for using Dark Magic” Alastair said much quieter as they reached the monastery entrance and pushed the doors opened, there were two people inside “Hello, we need help” Alastair said to them.

 

The man heard the comment but didn't take to kindly to it. He disliked such conflict. However, he moved into the monastery with Alastair and put Vitan on a table nearby. He then looked to the two people, watching to see what they would do.

Mya smiled. "A pleasure to meet you. I'm Mya. So-" She was then interrupted by more people walking in. Since when did this place become so damn popular all of a sudden...She cleared her throat and walked over to the people that walked in. "Welcome. Hmm...your friend here seemed to have some serious injuries. May I ask what happened?" She pulled off her gloves and examined Vitan. ​

 

"We got caught in between a battle fought by the Saradi Kingdom and the Seraphim Empire, war has become between the two, unfortunately out companion here got injured badly in out escape" Alastair said as he sat down "All we wish is some help with magic if that's possible and then be on our way, we can pay for any help" Alastair said, he actually meant he would pay for it but they didn't need to know it.

Mya frowned at their explanation. "War huh? That's bad news. I suspected it to start a lot sooner. Nevertheless I shall do what I can. My magic isn't as strong as the priests, but since all of them left for their monthly trek, I probably can do enough to prevent him from dying." She exhaled and laid her hands upon Vitan. A bright light emitted from her hands and engulfed him in light, repairing most of the damage. Soon enough, his body looked mostly ok with the exceptions of a few marks here and these. "Alright. This should keep him alive. I strongly recommend that you let him rest. His body is not yet revitalized for physical use. I suggest waiting for a priest to make sure he heals fully." ​

 

When the doors opened and the new people came in, Drei simply stood up and watched Mya heal the wounded man. A war? Didn't think that teacher was actually serious about that.


Eins's simply followed behind Alastair into the monastery, though he stopped paying attention to what was going on when he saw Drei standing there.

 

“Okay, thank you” Alastair said as he sat down, he thought to himself for a few minutes in silent. When he finally stood back up he drew his sword and swung at the mysterious man who he had brought along, he wasn’t going to hit him, all he was doing was testing the man’s reaction, ‘what will he do?’ Alastair thought to himself as his blade came down.
