I smell a certain attorney coming to blame this on video games.

 

Video games? Please tell me they're not blaming video games...

Next thing you know there will be a shoot out at a Mansion because of Resident Evil.

People make me a sad panda these days.

 

it'll either be video games or movies. People always NEED a scapegoat, its just the crappy way it is. :nono:

 

Sadly, yes, people like to have a scapegoat and it sucks. If they say because he was playing video games that he did this, they will have missed the entire point that he was drinking under age, doing pot, was clinically diagnosed with depression and possibly stole money from his job before he got canned that day. They will also miss the issue that he dropped out of school, had family issues and was socially seeming to be quite inept. But man...maybe it's those video games!!!

 

Definately video games! All of that pales in comparison to the horrendous world of video games!

Now this just makes me scared to go to malls anymore. There was just a mall stabbing a week or so ago around where I live. People are just so...corrupt anymore.

 

Things in video games always happen in Real Life.

Damn those video games! I mean, you know, America doesn't say anything against carrying guns . . . but it clearly is video games that cause the problems!


On a serious note, I read that about a week ago. I am saddened that the tragedy happened and condolences go out to the people involved.

 

Video games are just the modern scapegoat. When comic books first came out, they were blamed for the 'delinquency of the youth'. Parents just need something to blame for their children's problems.

I'm sure when the next thing comes along, it will be blamed too.

 

Parents need something to something to blame other than themselves. The last people parents blame is themselves when more often that not it is the parents that screwed up the child.

This is just going to happen more and more often until one or both of two things happen:

(a) Guns become a lot less accessible
(b) Parents become better at being parents, like the saying goes "Any man can become a father, but there are only some can be Dads" and the same applies for women.
