They have to do this... why!?

Luckily, I've got Disney Channel and Cartoon Network, and luckily, there are shows on that I like right now (Wizards of Waverly Place and Codename: Kids Next Door), but still. They won't be back up until 3:00 PM, and it started 8 minutes ago at 12:00 PM, so that's three hours of no Nick!

It's mainly because a lot of kids these days don't play outside as much as they used to (or at all). With the Digital Age came entertainment at the press of a button, not many kids feel they need to go outside when they can bring the outside stuff (kickball, softball, etc.) right to them over the Wii or what not.

tl;dr: outside is scary nick is a bully

I don't like Nick anyways except for the Legend of Korra. Just go outside and practice waterbending.

The fact that anybody needed to post this as proof that Nickelodeon should do this...and every other channel.

Maybe you should look into these little things called books. Kids used to read those before the internet came along.

What I don't understand is why 3 hours is so hard to go through.

ERMAGARD NO SPONGEBIB FOR 3 HOURS!

Get over it and go do something, I don't know, productive? TV is corrupting everyone in our generation so I applaud the fact that they decide to not show any of the stupid crap that passes as entertainment these days.

    This.

I'm lucky to have a grandma who decided to cut the majority of her cable when I was younger, so we had to play. Even now, I care very little for television. The majority of the time it's on is when I'm asleep.

I remember when they first did this though, and how I laughed at it because there are other channels on. If they really wanted to make a difference, they would team up with the other popular kids/teens channels to do this. Unfortunately, the other companies know that their ratings go up because of this, so there is very little chance for change.

Only time I go outside is to go somewhere, mow the lawn, clean the car, and things like that. All other times I'm inside on the computer watching TV or playing PS2.

Whoa? Three hours without iCarly and other, equally, sh*ttty shows?

The world will just have to accept it and explode.
