Unless they REALLY improved on the Kinect, I don't see much hype going for that. It was a larger device of motion controls for casual gamers mostly. I don't have one myself, my room albeit a miracle, a wrecking ball and a lot of new innovation could fit ten free space for me to set up a Kinect sensor. But I've seen it played with before and it seemed like it was more hype than anything else. Especially with a lot of reviews saying how hard it was to use for games. Maybe they have improved it, but if they haven't, I don't see any enthusiasm from me.

It's no surprise this was a entertainment focused reveal. With E3 so close behind all the games will be shown then. Still it would have been nice to see how these new features works with the games and not just TV and social media. With the rise of Smart TV's Microsoft really need to prove that the Xbox One should be THE entertainment hub. A direction I fear may come back to haunt them in a few years if they don't do it right. So it looks like Sony is going to wipe the floor with Microsoft when it comes to...well gaming. Still, there'll be people shouting "PC Master Race" once the console wars reignite. The only things that got me slightly excited for the Xbox One just now were those "impulse triggers" and "smart glass" libre mentioned and I don't even know what either of those things are and I'm pretty sure they won't come in handy when it comes down to playing a game.

I really don't think people should be mentioning the lack of games until E3 is finished. You can fault the reveal for lacking games, but you can't fault the console for lacking games, at least not yet.

Entertainment, Sports, CoD. It's obvious the conference wasn't aimed at us. It was aimed at the other half of consumers who bought a 360. They know us hardcore follows E3 and gaming blogs. That's why more technical details were revealed after the conference and the games will be shown in a few weeks. I hope they learnt from past E3 mistakes and not try and cram all audiences into one conference. It seems they are splitting it between the 2, the mainstream (today) the hardcore (E3).

Um, I like the 360. It is my favorite console. I liked everything about it including the online pay to play. But, this XBOX ONE.... Can I say I am tempted to get a PS4 instead? Some of you who know me well know that means a lot coming from me. I mean.. just... wow. My friend and I always share our games. We always play together by either him bringing a game to my place or vice verse and the fact that that aspect is being eliminated is just horrid. And the backwards comparability thing. I know its a new system but at least the freaking WiiU has it. And um. I like to vacation. So how the hell am I supposed to turn in on when I am gone longer than 24 hours.... I have a lot less respect for Microsoft in this reveal. I just... I don't like any of the consoles for this new generation.

I definitely don't like the reveal but at least they've confirmed they'll reveal more games at E3. They definitely need to show of something good there. It not being backwards compatible is once again disappointing. And the way they've treated it more like a media device than a gaming device is dissapointing. The constant need for Kinect I'm indifferent about since it'll come with it. Overall, the console doesn't look to have a good start imo but it may pick up.

    *Sigh*

This...is... disappointing. VERY MUCH. It focused more on the functionality of it rather than the games. WHY? The point of GAMING consoles are meant for GAMING, not the stupid Smartglass or the Kinect crap or anything of that sort. I mean at least some ideas are pretty impressive, but the majority don't give the crap but the games. Ugh. I'm gonna have to stick with the PS4 for now unless they get their s**t together.

Well, like someone mentioned in the thread earlier, you have to keep in mind that E3 is about 2-3 weeks away. They can't devote the reveal too much to gaming or they might not have big surprises to pull out at E3 (PS4 is defs packing heat with FF stuff and maybe KH3, so they definitey have some steep competition). I do agee though in the sense that with the games they did show, they definitely should have showed some form of gameplay (and another game maybe).

It was definitely disappointing though, 'specially since it's just a 10x more expensive HDMI hookup at this point. :b

I have never despised anything more than this new anti-consumer Xbox One. Wow, if Sony decides to pull off anything remotely similar, I'm just not gonna buy it period. Not supporting their stupid controll-everything crap.

Sorry, unless something really blows me away with Xbox...

I'm totally out of getting a Xbox one. EA was eh for me, I'm not a fan of sports. Call of Duty is okay, mostly the dog thing really didn't impress me and made me laugh. I can't really use Kinect due to the size of my room and I never planned on getting one. I also heard MASSIVE complaints about the sensitivity of the controls. Why would I really need to watch tv through my Xbox when I have a remote next to me?

Windows 8 which I won't get into this thread is SATAN!!! And I know I'm flaming, but I had that damned thing since Christmas and I still hate it even after fixing all the problems that I had with it because I'm not in full control. Maybe it's better on consoles, but it's a pain in the butt on my laptop and I was cursing it non-stop for five days when I got the new laptop. I am sorry for the rant. I will take my scolding with shame, but every time I hear that program I get a severe eyetwitch and blow up.

For the used games, it's just for me the final straw. I seriously depend on used games to buy. One of my local stores sells used games to the consumer and has it as part of their income. I can also RETURN the game within a year if I don't like the game. I know, I can probably "buy" it again and pay a fee for it to be used on my Xbox, but that really will add up in expenses for me which I don't have much to begin with. They are no longer giving us any choice for what we want and expect us to suck it up.

I don't see myself ever buying this system. The live-action Halo thing doesn't even excite me anymore because I know I'll never get this system.

Me to a friend: So you get all this stuff and a dog...

    Friend: Dog...?

Me: Oh yeah, I didn't tell you about the dog.

I am getting a kick out of this just telling Halo fans about it. Some are getting it, but I see the happiness about it slowly going away with it. I really do love the 360, but man, did they mess this one up.

Uh...I'm a Halo fan. Doesn't mean I want the Xbox One even for the TV series.
